    Long beans/Payar Fry
    Ingredients
    Long beans/payar 250 gms
    Onion 1 small
    Greenchillies 2 - 3
    Coconut pieces 2 tbsp
    Turmeric ½ tsp
    Red chilli powder ½ tsp
    Cumin seeds 1 tsp
    Cumin powder ½ tsp
    Salt . 1 tsp
    Procedure
    Cut Long beans/payar into small pieces.
    Cut onion into small pieces.
    Slit green chillies.
    Keep a pan on the gas and add Long beans, salt, Turmeric and 1 cup of water.
    Cook it for around five minutes till the beans are cooked and water has dried up. Keep aside the pan.
    Keep another pan on the gas.
    Add Two tblsp oil and add cumin seeds.
    Add Coconut pieces and curry leaves. Fry the coconut pieces till golden brown.
    Add onions and fry till translucent.
    Add Red chilli powder and cumin powder.
    Add the cooked beans and fry for another five minutes till it is crisp, by stirring in between.
    Long beans/Payar Fry is ready.
