@fitnesscorner5807, you're right I thought same way. Earth's gravity is bigger than moon's and therefore pulls the moon back from rotating. They're confused.
People say the earth and moon are synchronized but it’s not true. The earth spins on its axis daily and it takes the moon a month to travel and rotate around the earth. Two different sized balls cannot spin and rotate at different speeds while also chasing the sun at over 60,000 miles per hour. The math would have to show the moon accelerating to catch and pass earth and then slow down while moving away from the sun and again, speeding back up again to catch the earth. The moon is 1/4 size the earth. A big ball and a small ball cannot both synch up and the moon sees every part of earth but the earth only sees one side of the moon. Both cannot be true at the same time. The tides are exactly the same worldwide whether the moon is on one side of the earth or other. There’s more than 200 other problems which can usually be worked backwards to fix your narrative. Worked with an astronomer while in college. He’s been in the field his entire life and put face in hands when I first asked him why the moon and sun match up to the exact same size during an eclipse. He showed me why they had extended the sun further so many times since I went from middle school to college. He was right. I first learned the sun was 54 million miles away. Then 63, 72,81 and 90 million. Slowly, by 9 million, so you wouldn’t almost double it in one year.
For those who don't understand how: Basically, the revolution and rotation time of the moon are the same. Whenever the moon rotates and similarly earth also rotates and they both kind of lock together (called Tidal Locking). Until the other side of the moon reaches, it completes one revolution and comes back to the same position again.
@@StreetPlaza they are not tidally locked to each other just the moon to earth or the same side of the earth would always face the moon which doesn’t happen
@@dgeyeyes, but it so happens to be that axis’es aren’t a thing but a concept we put into visual representation, it is tidally locked is the same thing as saying it rotates once around it’s axis per revolution of what it orbits
Moon doesn't rotate due to its inertia. Moon rotates because its earth side is permanently locked towards earth due to earth's large gravitational pull.
Simple Just know that rotation of moon and revolution of moon is exactly same So ehen moon rotate quarterly its position comes to quater to earth When moon rotate to 180° (at that time we should see the opposite side) at that time moon comes in between sun and eath showing the 180° rotated side to sun . Just see the video
Exactly confusing animation But after alot I founded my doubt 😅 The Moon takes 27 days to complete a revolution around the earth. The time it takes for the Moon to rotate once on its axis is equal to the time it takes for the Moon to orbit once around Earth
"Doctors say they must operate soon, but there's no knowing what they'll find when they open up the wound - I will meet you on the other side of the moon..."
The moon's rotation is equal to it's orbit, so as it's going around the earth, it's spinning at just the right speed to stay facing the earth. Imagine 2 pool balls, if one was going around the other, and it wasn't spinning, than the one being orbited would be able to see all sides of said ball at some point. But if you take the same concept and rotate the ball once every time the other is orbited, it would stay locked, having 1 side facing it the whole time
Respectfully, I do not agree. it is a fact that the moon does NOT rotate on its axis at all. The moons parent body is the Earth. Not the sun. Perspective is important.

Do not let common sense flow out the window lol. Take the line the moon is moving on and make it straight, then ask yourself if the moon is actually rotating at all.
Nobody really acknowledges how small of a chance there is for this to happen. Given the random distance between the two they have to be moving/rotating at two diff speeds EXACTLY or else over time the moon would eventually rotate 360degrees in reference to the earth
You don't appear to be familiar with the term 'tidal locking', which is a phenomena applicable to most of the moons and their parent planets in the solar system? 'Tidal locking' is a gravitational phenomena that 'locks' a moon's rotation and causes the same side to always face the planet - this is not a 'chance' happening at all.
last part was confusing, as per Earths shadow you shown, the moon is showing his dark side to Sun. If I follow your animation, then there is no Dark side of the Moon.
" Dark side of the moon " term is only for people from earth not from any other planet or star. "Dark side" means 'UNKNOWN', not 'DOESN'T RECEIVE SUNLIGHT'. So, each side of the moon experiences two weeks of sunlight while the opposite side experiences two weeks of night. The animation is accurate; as from earth we can never see the other side with creepy texture and potholes though it receives sunlight. Which also means if we could stand between sun and moon we could see " The dark side " shining as well. Just replace dark with unknown and it should solve your confusion.
Maybe because the permanent perfect gravitational pulling? Meaning its able to pull the moon just enough of it where we can only see the face, but because the Earth is rotating, it is pulling the moon as well?
That is the worst explaination ever. The simple awnser is that the gravity of the earth prevents the moon from spinning and only spins because of the earths gravity
Earth has no gravity at all. The sun and the moon are the ones that rotate, while the earth is as large as the sky and also fixed and does not move. This was mentioned in the Holy Quran. thanks 😉
