Double Trouble is literally perfection
I think we can all agree the Double Trouble is one of the best characters in the show but can we just acknowledge the fact that they made the character who shapeshifts through biological means gender neutral is one of the most ingenious character choices ever.
Don't get me wrong I love X Men's Mystique but (and this may just be a personal thing) since the two actors they got to play mystique in live action (Rebecca Romain and Jennifer Lawrence) are two EXTREMELY feminine women, I find it difficult to believe that they would be able to emulate the body language of say... Hugh Jackman's Wolverine or the Senator in the first half of the second movie. (but seriously don't get me wrong Jennifer Lawrence and Rebecca Romaine both played the part extremely well it's an issue of character rather than acting)
The brilliant part about Double Trouble (that in my opinion elevates them above most other shapeshifters in fiction) is they have three things that are unique to them: long styled hair, pointy elf like ears and a long flexible chameleon like tail. the rest of their body has been designed to be as androgynous as possible and considering this is a character who consistently shifts between male, female, tall, short, fat, thin and muscled characters IT'S GENIUS. I think it's best exemplified in the finale of season 4 where they shift between: Adora, themself, Catra, Shadow Weaver, Hordak, Adora again, back to themself and Scorpia within about a minute and I genuinely believe that their base form allows that quite comfortably throughout the entire sequence.
TL;DR Double Trouble is one my favourite fictional shapeshifters and one of the main reasons why is that they're gender neutral and very androgynous in design
I like making characters and I also have a nb shapeshifter. Their main form is just a ball of mist.... that's it. They are recognizable in every form because I made them blind in a corporeal tho they have enhanced senses too. And there is two scars over their eyes. Their eyes are always closed but if they're not then the eyes are silver colored. This stays the same in every form and the pupils remain human like even when they're a cat so that's why they keep their eyes closed. I made them before Double Trouble existed 6 years ago now I think. Geez they're old but a comfort character to me since I can draw them as anything I want.

I like their whole character on how they plays roles and it kind of plays into everything that comes out of their mouth. It’s really interesting and completely hilarious at times but every time I see them I cannot forget how they were a pure force of chaos that broke down and talked down to Catra who was already going through too much. And I feel like the scene where they were just toying with the main characters was excellent because it really hit harder when the spell worked.
Too many people focus on claiming this character is transphobic or antisemetic. When what we should be focusing on, is the fact that everyone in series respects their pronouns and never gets them wrong. That is very progressive.
