Word of the Day: Indemnity - Exemption from any consequences or culpability in regard to ones own actions. Health Cookie #11: Fruit, bread, pasta and rice really aren't as healthy as everyone mistakenly believes them to be. In fact, they're known in scientific circles to be of great detriment to your biology, whether regarding physical or mental aspects of it. Most fruit is extremely high in carbohydrates or sugar, while most mainstream bread, rice and pasta in grocery stores is refined and processed into oblivion. Those foods would still be unhealthy even if they weren't processed, but the processing makes them even worse. Since over 90% of North Americans are already Insulin Resistant, the last thing they should be snacking on is fruit, bread, pasta or rice. Historically, fruit served a valuable purpose: We would have seasonal access to fruit and binge on it, gaining a lot of weight, which would tide us over through harsh winters. But now we have an obesity epidemic because there are no more harsh winters; Everybody's too well fed, far too often. Insulin is a hormone that your body releases whenever you ingest carbs or sugar, and its role is to help your liver to convert those carbs and sugars into fat, to be stored for later use; The problem is, in order to burn the fat that you've stored, you need to engage in intermittent fasting and/or exercise. While some people do exercise, far too few people engage in the practice of intermittent fasting, and this is why you see fat people who can exercise all they want, yet never lose a pound. It's not because of their genetics, it's only because they're not denying themselves of indulgence often enough, and are likely eating too much refined carbs like bread, pasta or rice, as well as sugar-rich foods like fruit amid the mistaken belief that they're helping their biological wellness to improve by doing so. Your body has two states: Anabolic, and Catabolic. When your body is Anabolic, it is storing things for later; You become anabolic after you eat. When your body is catabolic, it is consuming the fuel that it has already stored; When you fast and go without eating, you become catabolic. People eat too many times a day, and they often eat fruit, bread, pasta or rice, which locks their bodies into the Anabolic state most of the time, and because of that, they never enter the catabolic state, as the two are mutually exclusive bodily states, so they keep storing more and more fat in perpetuity. But once their cells no longer have any more room to store any more fat, the Insulin just decides to dump its payload around the intended delivery site instead, resulting in body fat build-up. If you are obese and you want to slim down, then do regular fasting, exercise, and cut fruit, bread, pasta and rice from your diet, choosing instead to primarily eat meat and eggs, and only eat once per day for four days per week. As long as you get enough protein your muscles won't deteriorate, and as long as you significantly reduce your consumption of carbs and sugar, then your body will consume stored fat to sustain itself rather than constantly adding to the stores of fat.
