For all the steps and tricks that these tutorials show, we didn't see a single one of them beating their faces with loose powder, which is one of the most important parts of the process, especially as so many queens contour and highlight with various paintsticks. With a majority of new drag artists out there learning makeup from RUclips, I've seen more than a few that step onstage their first time looking like a big greasy mess and even more that haven't been taught the absolute necessity to carry a puff and powder in their purses. Especially in nightclubs that get hot and crowded, without regularly using that puff, all their pretty work can slide right off their mugs in what I used to call a Max Factor Landslide. It ain't pretty, ladies.
