I actually found this like a year ago and was just too tired/etc to throw this together and it only took minutes. I was listening to an EEIWALE song I uploaded and thought of this again. I didn't see this before anywhere on youtube and only found this on their facebook I think it was. Here the last of the Penpal songs that will ever happen I presume as the band broke up awhile ago. Strange, I remember uploading that American Football song back in like '09 and well other people started doing the same and American Football even put out a new album that I never did get hmm.... I got the deluxe version of American Football though. Actually had a demo song up from it at one point, but got worried about a claim so I removed it. Anyways I could just ramble forever but here is some lost Penpal music for your listening pleasure.
HOI is probably my favorite song of them, these last two lines hit hard!
I prefer Some Sinatra, but I do like the first song too.
1:30 is magical, thought I found the holy grail of them playing bedbugs live but this might beat it. Thanks for the upload.
fuck, these guys were from Chicago too, where I grew up my whole life, and goddamn, the first song hits hard. Listening to this feels like I’ve summed up my whole life. There’s a certain charm that the Midwest has that not many can really tune into. I’m so glad these guys managed to do it.
I went to Chicago once. I'm sure you heard their LP. I uploaded a few songs and bet the whole thing is on here. But what a great. I wished I lived in Chicago, it can be dangerous but you can take the speed trains and life feels like living.

I have a new MST3K return I want to make here. Since you came back I love ya like Elle in that shitty Star Crash movie. I definitely think the movies are getting worse. Only at the six spot, but Cry Wilderness and Avalanche were my high points though of couse I did enjoy the others in some level.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I know I listen to a band or two that was on Top Shelf Records which is something different I think but nonetheless.
Hope Penpal decides to do a reunion for a remaster of some songs.
Tell me if they do! Last I knew there was just very little about them out there though their website and some old socials were still up, there was just nothing new for years.

He has some videos like the original marquette live performances. I did find a short video of the drummer playing in a video called "everyone is my friend.m4v" by PenpalMusic1. (fun side fact, on the marquette cover penpal did on their set in chicago, it is possible to find what tuning they use via a reply to one of the comments).

When was this released?
Sometime after August 24, 2011 I guess (which was when the Postscript EP came out). I tried finding their facebook again but all I found is some other soft instrumental/experimental music (under the same name) that is pleasant but is something completely different....okay I found eh the date on their facebook is
March 8, 2011 so * shrugs * penpalmusic.bandcamp.com/album/poetry-drawer that there says May 2010.
