Spearfishing KING MACKEREL | South Coast

King mackerel AKA Couta, have finally made an appearance on the KZN south coast. This is the first time I have ever seen this many Couta EVER while spearfishing! The age old saying is where there are sharks there is fish.. And boy were there sharks.. this made it really difficult landing our fish. These are mostly "shoalies" or "shoaling Couta" and they normally aren't as big as the lone wolf "Croc Couta". What they lack in size they really made up in numbers this year. These are great eating and really fast growing therefore great to stock the freezer with.
