- GRID is back and it's going back to its roots!
GRID: Autosport aims to move the series back in line as a more authentic racing game. Set to include a more authentic handling model (more Sim than Race Driver: GRID), five distinct disciplines; Touring, Endurance, Open Wheel, Tuner and Street. Race at 22 locations (primarily circuit based) with a combined route list that totals over 100.
This game is, at its heart, inspired by you guys, our core community.

Looks pretty good, no offence or anything but it just looks like Grid 2 but with better graphics & based on tracks but i'm still looking forward to it :)
TheHanfi93 You know, I'm not trying to be a troll or anything but I think you are right. For some reason the oldest GRID game still looks the best (at least on PC with everything maxed out). I think they used better lighting shaders for GRID 1 because the surfaces of the road and the light on the cars and buildings all seems much more realistic. I still prefer to play GRID 1.
psycold Completely agree with you, I still play GRID multiplayer sometimes trough tunngle, you'd be surprised, there's still an average of 50/60 people online at any time which is very good for a game whose servers have been shutdown for years. (For those who don't know Tunngle is pretty much like hamachi but on a bigger scale and allows for more people to be connected at the same time).
I totaly agrey ek but it may supprize u ;-)
i want to mention the two things that i liked the most on grid 2.
1- overtake - mostly that japanese downhill, i really enjoyed that with the fastest cars.
2- beatiful new tracks that i haven't seen on any other racing game.
the first step to make a good game is to do what YOU think is better for the game. those idiots downvoting youtube videos aren't probably the core of your following gamers. and of course, people are afraid of changes, if it were for them, the grid series will already be monotone and boring on it's 3rd iteration, just like a need for speed from the last gen.
last but not least, the strongest point of grid 2 was innovation on the racing genre. and that is something that i really appreciated.

The Official Grid Page on facebook said that their NextGen technology isnt ready yet - They dont wanna rush it.
Means: It will be released later on.

Here's the proper sequel, Grid 2 was a differ from tradition, and this will set it right.
Love Grid 2. Not enough people play it, though. Do what you gotta do to get the competition back in the game and I'll follow it. Bring it on. ;)
I liked the graphics, but they made it too much of an arcade racer IMO, first GRID was way better and if this just takes the graphics of 2 and the gameplay from the first, it should be one hell of a game!

AIMIWA95 I've played both Grids and the Dirt series games. They are all arcade racers. The simulation games are overrated and the simulation gamers are snobby and annoying. codemasters arcade racers have always been the best.

i'm all for arcade racers over simulators, but grid 2 went too far in my opinion, the first grid had the best blend between the two and was probably my favourite racing game ever, but i never like the second that much, i like simulators as well, but grid 2 is too far in the other direction.
Good to see you back to your roots, can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this masterpiece

So long as this game doesn't handle like GRID 2, and is instead more like GRID 1 and the original TOCA games, then this could be insane. Looks pretty great, sounds pretty great, seems like it's going to have a whole lot of actual circuit racing tracks... Pumped! (Hopefully it really is going back to its roots).

To be honest, most enjoyable races were with formula. Other races I didnt enjoy too much but its solid racing game. I'm not dissapointed overall.
I have one thing to ask, due to the fact hat some might see the over car view as an advantage over cockpit, please add options for custom games in MP, where we could only enable a certain view, so that we're all on the same level. As well as the option where any view goes, depending on the people in the lobby. But please put the option where in the setup we have the ability to enable or disable certain views.

Is it possible to add all the F1 circuits from F1 2013 since it's the same company producing the two games? This game would be unbelievable with the 19 tracks from the F1 calendar!

It looks good, but will the driving be any different from grid 2? The physics on that were so bad :/..
OK, so this game will have Formula 3 if I'm not mistaken, drift events, touring cars, and GT events. This'll be sweet.
Well I must say it really looks good, and hopefully they are gonna stretch the community feedback to the limit.
Eh, I've been waiting for a proper rally game for almost 10 years now, but I hope Codemasters will think about it after Autosport.

please try to add stereoscopic half sbs and top bottom modes, as well as native amd hd3d.
tridef will come with a profile for sure, but it will bring a huge performance hit on the cpu, most likely
i hope this time they add the clutch. i was very dissapointed to not use it in my g25 :(

Except that it includes multiple forms of racing like open-wheel and endurance, pit-stops, amazing VFX details and simply looks better than GRiD 2 in general.

For me the game physics are the most important thing. Richard Burns Rally and Live for Speed are still the best games. I hope this one would finally improve on those.

I see the diarrhea brown filter has been toned down significantly. It's still there but not like in the previous games. The over the top bloom is also still there. The graphics look a lot better in this video. I'll wait for another video before I decide if I'm going to give this one a try.

I'd like a list of the tracks. Not getting suckered in again like Grid 2. It looks like Hockenheim, Jarama, Abu Dhabi and San Francisco street racing are included, but beyond that, who knows?
Washington and Sepang are also confirmed. They also said they're bringing back a few city tracks from Grid 2 but didn't specify which ones.

My PS4 desperately needs a proper racing game. Please consider porting it over Codemasters. Meanwhile il enjoy this on PC.

I got GRID 2 a bit after launch, and already by then there were NO online lobbies/races. For the singleplayer campaign, I mostly won by crashing my way to the top hardly with any drawbacks - even with full damage on. So I hope this game will be more realistic, and with a better integrated online system that people actually play. Full race weekend, please, instead of just putting me at the back of the grid for the race.
People play all the time. And there are always lobbies. If you own this game on steam, you may need to go to your steam settings, and change "download location", and change it to other countries (depending on time of day), to allow the game to look for different servers.
There is going to be a full race weekend and it is gonna be more realistic.

I don't get it? Is this the re-release of what Grid2 should have been? I had such high hopes for G2 - don't get me wrong, I loved every bit of the career campaign. The graphics, the noise, all of it... It lacked quite a lot with the multiplayer though, which was the main reason for buying it in the first place. Since gave my copy away /sigh/
Can't help thinking this is Grid 2.5 the 'we got it wrong' edition...

Looks promising, but I hope we can race with more than 11 drivers this time. Nice to see that it looks more like the first Grid at least.
Now I've learned the handling some more it's currently my favourite of the GRID games. The music choice is sublime and it's beautiful.
Looks promising, like a return to the glory days of TOCA! I do wish CM were able to get V8 Supercars back into the game though, stupid Microsoft with the license to make shitty representations of the real thing. Guess I'll be sticking to rFactor for that fix.
