    It wasn't a game-ending choice but in FF7 Remake, you start chapter 10 with having fallen into the sewers, thanks to Don Corneo. Cloud wakes up first and you have to pick between first waking up either Tifa or Aerith. They did too good of a job with showing the relationship he has with both of them, so it was a really hard pick. But I think I ultimately chose Aerith. Her cutscene in the garden then turned out to be probably the most emotional moment in the game for me. She tells him not to fall in love with her and you'd expect Cloud to say something along his trademark catchphrase, "Not interested!" or something equally rough. But, no. He doesn't instantly reject her. He instead says, "Don't I get a say?" It's almost an admission. Almost. And coming from a closed-off character like Cloud, that's huge.

      I'd personally say that curing the genophage was the tougher choice. Powerful, warmongering species tried to overrun the galaxy. They were genetically sterilised. Ending the war but resulting in a societal collapse. 1000 years later, the krogan are a dieing, fatalist people and you have a chance to cure their sterilisation. Do you do it and risk another war of conquest or not and let the slow genocide run it's course.

    I honestly believe that Life is Strange 2 is hugely underrated exactly because of how moral system for your brother works. I love how you can shape his personality and how much of an impact is has not only on endings but generally on the game. He remembers when you keep changing your mind, doubts you and so there are 2 versions of each of 2 endings and all are great, imo. I've had a lot more fun with LiS2 than LiS1, there's more actual reasons to replay it different way because your entire run counts towards the ending.

    I actually never thought the choice of "Surrender" or "Cross" in LIS2 was difficult. Through the entire game, I thought the plan of "escape into Mexico despite your dad taking you away from there for your safety" was a TERRIBLE idea, and was surprised that almost nobody seemed to tell Sean and Daniel how bad it was.

  • @Eiweing
    @Eiweing Год назад +8

    Life is Strange 2, left me full of heartache, and I really had to evaluate my choice, and as I struggled through it, I was reaffirmed that I chose the right choice: Try to power through, even though Daniel surrendered himself. Both brothers had a relative good life, even though they were separate :)
    But anyhow you slice it the struggle is real, and no other game impacted me in such a powerful way.

    • @EverythingAnimePodcast

      I honestly think them separating is the worst ending cause of all it was pretty much caused by Daniel. Part one. Part 4 and part 3 ending as sneaking or not, Daniel will unleash his power

    • @Eiweing
      @Eiweing Год назад +2

      @@EverythingAnimePodcast I could not bare the thought of Sean broken in prison, it seemed unfair. The rest could never be considered to me as that would mean that the good brothers I knew was gone, and all morality had been thrown out the window.
      But as long as you found peace with choice, that is all that matters. This is tough, as underscored by the division in our choices.

    • @miib.8910
      @miib.8910 Год назад +2

      @@Eiweing Yeah, I got the redemption ending/Sean in prison, and it was painful and heartbreaking, especially when he starts to cry when they're camping. But I feel like it sits best in my mind. I think LiS 2 far exceeds the first LiS because of how they developed the brothers and how you relate to them, making the four different endings resonate vastly differently for everyone. Just thinking about it is making me emotional again.

      And not to mention the fact that Chloe would die while still feeling abandoned since Rachel recently disappeared and she never met max again in that timeline.
      But that ending felt like it was the right one since we were able to 'see' Chloe's character development pay of at the end of the story as she willingly gave her life away when she realised that doing so would save Arcadia Bay, and we let her do so.

    Regardless of whether you shoot Kenny or let him kill Jane, there are still choices to make if you go with them. If you go with Jane back to Carver's camp, you have to decide whether to admit another family. If you go with Kenny to Wellington, you have to decide whether to go in without Kenny (the settlement is already overpopulated and won't admit all three of you), or continue traveling with him. Kenny desperately tries to convince you to stay, even admitting that he's unfit to care for AJ.

  • @voteDC
    @voteDC Год назад +3

    The Kenny vs Jane choice was really difficult for me. I walked away from the game for a half hour to think about it. In the end though I let Kenny kill Jane.
    There were a few things behind the choice. The first thing was that in the play through I imported Kenny and Lee were friends, best friends, and to me that would have influenced Clem. Second was when Kenny is facing down Luke's group he completely disarms himself on seeing Clem, even kneeling down to look at her. Let's skip ahead or I'll be typing all day. Even after arguing with Jane in the car, when they crash the first thing he does is ask if she is okay, not AJ or Clem he wanted to know Jane was okay.
    Kenny was broken and the worst thing was that he knew that but he kept on trying. I genuinely shed a tear when he was begging Clem to leave him at the end of season 2. I went with him because in the end he would die to protect his family, and in a New Frontier that's exactly what he did.

    That choice between Chloe and the Bay was such a painful one. I grew to love Chloe's character through out the game and undoing all of it to let her die at the beginning... I normally go with the morally obvious choice of sacrificing the one to save the many, but I wanted to see what exactly would happen if you save her instead. Essentially, the two of you survive for the time being, but the game suggests that the danger is far from over. Then I played again and picked the right choice and it was definitely the most satisfying of the two endings. It was depressing and painful as hell, but it was the most impactful. God... I've gotta play this game again.

You have the choice of either saving Allison and hopefully getting more intel on who the terrorist are or go to the bank and get intel on who the major players are that have being working in the shadows throughout the game. It’s a tough decision which I chose to go save Allison as a person’s life is more important than information on a shadow organization. Either way you continue the game but it’s one of those tough choices you have to make in a game

    I'm surprised the Kill Ashley/Shoot yourself choice from Until Dawn from the intro wasn't in the list. If you don't find the totem related to this it's a hell of a choice.

    My choices in the games listed that i have played...
    Ghost Tsushima: I spared Lord Shimura; because i loved his character and the look of pride and respect in Jin he shows by becoming his own man to forge his own destiny, (and i personally believe that Jin and Shimura meet in secret thus maintaining their family bonds)
    Detroit Become Human: I always choose pacifism whenever i replay it, I'm personally opposed to responding to violence with more violence.
    Heavy Rain: I spare the dealer in the playthrough i did to pop the platinum trophy, any player can figure out the destination with at least 3/4 Clues so killing the father/dealer is not mandatory.
    Walking Dead S2: Always pick Kenny because Jane is awful and selfish.

    Sparing Shimura is honestly the only choice I ever make, Ghost of Tsushima's entire narrative message is to show how flawed the Samurai Bushido can be, as Jin becoming the ghost saved Tsushima, sparing Shimura let's him see things from Jin's viewpoint and hopefully let's him accept, if not emphasize with Jin.

    Pretty much all choices like these have their roots in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan... the theory is possibly older then this, but, chances are this is where it all started for the majority of people knowing and thinking about it.
    Do you choose the needs of the many (head/logic), or do you choose the needs of the few, or the one (heart/humanity)?

    This is completely random but am I the only one that is stack with the way she pronaunces Sean, deranged killer, Silva and drug dealer starting at 6:31? I love the way she speaks....👌

    I absolutely hated the ending of Ghost of Tsushima. Neither was the right choice. Jin needed to die to reclaim his soul. The only right choice was to allow Shimura to kill him but that wouldn't allow for sequels so the devs abandoned the samurai drama just when it became most important.

    For me the hardest choice in LIS was the Bladerunner scene.
    I'd had a conversation about end of life choices with my mum only weeks earlier where she'd asked that as the most trustworthy offspring to support her in ending things if her health deteriorated too much or if she became incapable of taking this step. She valued quality of life over quantity.
    Being hit with this in game choice so soon after that conversation made it the hardest game choice I'd ever faced.
    I cried, I put the pad down & walked away, I returned to the pad & cried some more before walking away again in tears.
    I knew what decision I'd end up making but struggled to bring myself to press the button & grant Chloe's request but it took over an hour of agonizing & crying to press that button.
    That first playthrough I saved Chloe, after going through that I couldn't bring myself to end her life again.

    They should make another life is strange have a storyline with what happens with Max and Chloe, I know they make comics. At least like a 2 episode DLC or something

    Honestly, I'd sacrifice Chloe at the end of LiS. I just don't like her too much and I think that she isn't that great of a friend either. Nor of a person
