I love this machine. I have one, bought last year (in London) which I use along with a couple of Bernina machines. I love my Berninas but the 20u is so versatile. It took a bit of getting used to (I use it for free motion) but it is strong a simple. However I still need videos like yours to remind me of the basics and that I'm not missing something when I find something isn't working quite right. Today, thanks to you, I realised that my tension spring had slipped over. Thanks for your videos, from sunny (ish) England.
@@Chantillyandchocolate This is excellent for free motion quilting, however you need to remove the feed dogs, they do not fold down like they do on a Bernina. There are various feet available however I do free motion work without any feet attached. You do generally need to use a loop though to hold the fabric taut. To remove the feed dogs you take the plate off and simply unscrew the dog, then install a different plate. These generally come with the machine.
Thank you very much! I have a 20U73 and you were spot on with helping me! The manual was very difficult to understand because of the poor illustrations.
Hello I have a question. Thanks to your video I know how to use and parameter our new 20U-125C. But I cant find how to slow down the speed. Is it possible to slow down the speed of this machine for a better control ?
Thank for the video. I have this machine git it from a pawnshop, my problem is the sidewheel - where you use your hand. That thing is coming off when I start the machine, can I fix it, because the are two small empty wholes.
I have this machine but not getting much use out of it. I’m having problems with the mechanical foot lifter inside the machine it’s self. The knee lift is installed properly but the springs located underneath the machine are absolutely stiff. It will move slightly when depressed using my hand. Of course the hand lifter raises the foot. Any help is appreciated. No one addresses this issue that I’ve found. Thanks!
I have a much older model of this machine, funny how they look pretty much the same. So I am having trouble with my thread breaking at the needle, And the thread is usually sort of bunched and sort of shredded looking. I have adjusted the tension some but I don’t know if I need to adjust more or what. Any words of wisdom?
@@citysewing Thanks for the reply, I have determined that there were some rough places on my needle plate that you could hardly see but I sanded with skinny strips of sandpaper and seems to be working ok now.
Good day . thanks for the lesson. Sorry for the mistakes if there are any, I translate by Google translator. please tell me, I cannot create a zigzag stitch on the Zinger 20u33, the loop is made only on the left side, the thread is not captured on the right side, and as a result I get a straight stitch, I have been suffering for a week now, I bought a machine through second hands thanks in advance
Hi. You need to have a speed control servo motor to be able to slow down , if you have a clutch motor you will need to change your motor pulleys to small size that will slow down your machine speed . Ok meaning if you have a 4” pulley you buy another 1” size you will reduce your speed by 80% !
just bought 20U53, restored it...and now thanks to you, i am going to sew with it !! thank you !!
