SL will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first every expansion.

Absolutely loved playing through shadowlands, and this video is a blessing. I was in desperate need of a refresher on everything that went down before i begin dragonflight. Still pretty peeved about how they sent off arthas though. As someone that played through warcraft 3 (Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne) i was expecting so much more.
after watching the video, I found how they played Arthas was very hypercritical. Anduin is technically not even sane after an expansion under Zobal's strings; Arthas had decades under the same weight. Blizzard didn't even give Arthas a last word. Meanwhile, Garrosh: LoL! another wasted another chance at "Savior of the Horde." I Can't believe Blizzard has now Squandered the Heir of Hellscream three times now. Either Blizzard hate's the voice actor and was running out his contract or Stamping out the Old WC Horde fans with a vengeance while slamming the door and dogging it down in spite. In the face of a more divided Azeroth, even the Scourge is broken into new factions.

Thank you for putting this together. I haven't played in a long time but I do enjoy the story. I don't really get the Dragonflight expansion, I thought we would be getting the controller of the Jailer next. And I agree with the comments below, Arthas deserved so much more than that pathetic send off.
Always glad to hear! Thanks for the support. It’s our dream to cover the Warcraft lore in entirety and one day wish to see Warcraft hit the big screen as a trilogy or series. This franchise deserves much more. Share with friends to support!
Incredible series, and work. Much appreciated. I played Warcraft 3, beta WOW, and WOW original till c. Dec 2006. I miss those days. However, I struggle to keep up with the lore through it all. It seems to combine many real work ancient civilisations and concepts, especially Aztec, Greek, Egyptian, Roman, and Indian etc.
Ty for this! Dont play much WoW but I played this with a friend who was leaving so I got interested in the story. Glad I found this to see how it turned out!
Don’t play dragonflight. Trust me on this. People won’t invite you to heroic raid groups unless you’ve completed the heroic raid before. Yes, you read that correctly, The requirement to get into a heroic raid is to have already completed the heroic raid. Oh you wanna try mythic plus? Good luck. You can be 10 over the ilvl that the dungeon drops and they still won’t invite you simply because you haven’t done that mythic+ level before even tho you are beyond geared enough for it. You play a class/spec that isn’t OP? Then your trash. The expansion is great.. but the community is getting worse. Save your money and stay away.
@@Lakalddsksk that’s exactly my point. A very large majority of Raid groups will refuse to invite you if you haven’t done it before. It’s absolutely ridiculous. You wanna kill heroic raz? Good luck finding a group that will take you. It’s so beyond toxic man that it damn near makes the game unplayable
Arthas could have made a good redemption and help kill the jailer or at least made amends and just had a good character and afterlife for this, being who the guy he always he wanted to be, they guy that would “pay any price” for his people just unfortunately controlled. It would have been nice to see his amends and such just being a cool good character, even if not that that I would have loved to see him and not just a fading spark. It’s sad.
From a gameplay perspective I loved Shadowlands, the raiding and dungeons were so fun. Did it have it's problems? Of course, definitely. Was it still worth it? In my opinion, yes. If we're being honest, the lore wasn't very good and zone designing wasn't too good with Zereth Mortis but you gotta admit that the story is at least better than BfA where they couldn't keep one straight storyline. Jailer had his problems too and I would argue that N'Zoth was a better villain during BfA than the Jailer was throughout the entirety of Shadowlands. First, we were told basically nothing about him until Eternity's End (last major patch of Shadowlands) and it he didn't feel very present during the whole of it and I get that it's part of the ideal that we're basically just ants in comparison to a godlike being such as him... but even still his presence wasn't felt until after you raided Sanctum of Domination and saw the Maw surround Oribos every time you went there. On the other hand, N'Zoth's presence could be felt throughout the patch with just his ominous whispers trying to drive us to insanity.
Honestly, this seems like it should've been WoW's last expansion. So many loose ends tied up, in a completely wrong way. Shadowlands started to make me feel like this was becoming GoT season 8 , but I don't think it's that bad. Maybe I'm just extremely salty what they did to Arthas.
Bunch of awesome designs that could be used as some other worlds to explore... seriously, putting players in literal afterlife is a copout, especially if you go around erasing some guys out of existence. Anyway, gotta love how Sylvanas got to spent some vacation doing ranger stuff in hell, but Garrosh and Arthas got fucking poofed out of existence.
thanks for the hard work of putting this all together. I started playing wow a while ago especially for this storyline, but haven't manage to complete it yet.
The fact that elunes power did not even scare or overpower sylvanas is pathetic. Tyrande should have put her in her place especially what she did to her people. The writers here really messed up and it’s obvious why people are pissed and leaving the game. To bring Aretha’s back and give him this ending is just lame
I don't know if this is just me, but there appears to be a trend of division of power(not to be confused with separation of powers) in the warcraft universe. This I first noticed with the Council of Three Hammers, but it is a continuing trend, with now the Desolate Council being the newest case. Very interesting.
I have not followed so much the lore post-WOTLK (when I stopped playing), but @Athelarius wouldn't you say that (besides the gameplay which you can like or not) the lore of Shadowland is pretty good? Looks pretty slick to me!
I see a lot of negative comments toward Sylvanas, but tbh she was the only interesting character in this entire plot. The rest was blunt as hell. Also, the story was a bit too complicated, which is not a bad thing usually, but in this case it was.
Wow, they really just did Arthas THAT dirty?? No one even talks to him, he doesnt even appear, fans still want him and love him, yet they gave SYLVANAS a forced redemption arc? Did they read a fanfic from tumblr or something? ''Your legacy is at an end and you are forgotten'' - idiotic writing . Literally Uther and Sylvanas are standing there, he shattered the old Alliance, he destroyed Quel'Thalas and almost all the high/blood elves. Destroyed Lordaeron and ended a long line of kings, helped Ilidan aquire Guldans skull and become what he is, THEN LATER KILLED HIM (which they retconned), summoned the Legion on Azeroth then sabotaged the Legion in their invasion of Kalimdor. He is literally unforgetable and his actions STILL affect the present, his legacy will always be here, amazing character but no, Blizz does him dirty for some unknown reason and forces everyone to love Sylvanas and give her a redemption arc with some asspulled facts about her and her soul. They retconned so many things of the original lore in the last 8 years because they knew the crap they made up along the way would make even less sense than it does now. When i think more about it, is it just me or is blizz tryhing so hard for people to stop loving Arthas and their old expansions and forcing players to love the new ones lol
2:30:46 This conversation, I am absolutely disappointed. From side characters, protagonist, antagonist, ALL of them had absolutely poor dialogue. The writers even felt that this too needed to be rushed out. So short, with nothing explained. I am furious. I can write better stories, and this is the canon of the game? You cannot actually tell me that Sylvanas has little to tell Anduin, you cannot tell me that there is no insight Kael'thas would want to share any knowledge about arcane with others in his time here, and you could at least give Vol'jin, Bwonsamdi and Baine more lines. This expansion has been dreadful from the beginning to the end, and I pray the next expansion will be better. I don't need to talk about Arthas since I think everyone in the comments already know my thoughts on that. Thank you for putting these cutscenes together
I feel arthus was wasted. we see all these other character back and it was a blast in some way but not so with arthus. he was just a whisper and a forgotten note. could of head him be a big boss or turned into something worse than the litch king.
The things she did to Anduin while in the chamber in chains. I believe she loosened him up in time for the Jailer’s turn. We’re talking about domination magic lore of course!
Arthas is dead as you saw in the beginning. Anduin looks like Arthas but it’s not him nor is he Arthas son. The other guy took Arthas place after his death to ensure that no one like Arthas would try to claim the Lichs power again.
@@MrMusicopath My understanding was that when he took Frostmourne, it started consuming his soul, he walked into the wastes in Northrend, where this process completed. When he returned to Lordaeron he no longer had a soul, it was inside Frostmourne. I always understood this as that he was not dead in the traditional sense, just souless. Once he became the Lich King, he became the dominant power inside the helm of domination, suppressing both his remaining past self (Matthias Lehner) and Ner'zhul. Arthas was able to permanently remove Matthias from himself by carving out his heart. Through all of this he was definitely considered undead, but still not actually dead. Only once he was killed on top icecrown did he actually seem to die, and because Frostmourne was broken. Arthas soul was returned, only to be claimed by Uther and Devos. So from my perspective, he did not die until his death at the end of Icecrown Citadel. Which you saw at the beginning.
I'm glad I didn't play through the expansion passed the first raid. After watching this to catch up, the storyline is an absolute -mess- and wasn't worth paying for!
Why does Blizzard write idiots? Both Arthas and Kel'thas were MC'd. Neither are at fault for any of it. Every character that doesn't understand this is as sub-sentient as an Orc.
I cant help it.. Why is weirdly reskined Ana Amari my maw tour-guide? Also.. when it comes to Arthas... I think basic acceptence of his "deletion" is just off character.. I mean, I get it, Jaina has moved on... but come on... Would you be able to just basically shoot a person who made up a major part of your life into the head? Let us say, that your best friend is gravely hurt, the pain is unbelievable... Do you A: say your goodbyes and instantly mercy kill him or Do you B: try anything.. anything at all before he begs enough for you to see there is nothing to be done? I think they didnt write a realistic end to it.
That being said. When you finish shadowmourne and get jaina’s locket, she mourns his death and realized there was some of ‘him’ left too. Shit is just sad of an excuse for incompetent writing.
@@joysonmartinez7945 I mean I keep up only through cinematics.. but if thats true... then I guess blizzard made a final symbolic gesture.. just like they are murdering most of their games as of late.. By murdering their greatest character without in such ingrandious manner they showed us: We are no longer the ones who made your childhooods.
What is this, I thought we killee him, freed his soul. There was this other Paladin figure that took the healm afterwards: "There always had to be a Lich King". Did they retconed this just so that a super female has to tear one in sky? :))

@@Mthammere2010 Well look at what they did with WC3 and Reforged, that should tell you everything you need to know about current Blizzard. makes me yearn for the days when old Blizzard was behind the helm, welcome to Activision Blizzard, i hope with Bobby Kotick leaving Blizzard, their games well actually become somewhat good once again
they trying to end Arthas legacy so hard
And failed miserable at it also. just like Reforged
Every lore character came out looking stupider then when they went into Shadowlands.
the cinematics and art/music teams never disappoint with Blizzard, the gameplay and end game systems however....
Glad I found this to see how it turned out!
it is a movie that went for years, and still continues it's legacy, until we meet again.
Who's here instead of paying subscription?
You shuold really play dragonfligth
@@robbierey9792 you Needed to have to complete a heroic raid to do a heroic raid??
How are you even able to do one?
@@Lakalddsksk that’s exactly my point. A very large majority of Raid groups will refuse to invite you if you haven’t done it before. It’s absolutely ridiculous. You wanna kill heroic raz? Good luck finding a group that will take you. It’s so beyond toxic man that it damn near makes the game unplayable
@@robbierey9792just dont be dogshit lmao
Blizzard you did so many, many and I mean MANY characters and lore events in WoW *dirty* in this expansion.
I like that when Renathal yells Denathrius the auto sub is Daenerys
There's nothing like your story King.
Rreally nice vid. Enjoyed every second of this 3 hrs masterpiece. And it didn't even feel that long. That's how good it was 👍👍👌👌👍👍
Thank you very much for the compilation. ^_^
This is great. Folks need to remember that fanon isnt canon. Stories arent trash just because you like a character and think they "deserve better".
"And in the end, as the darkness takes me... I am nothing. Now I know how you felt, my friend." -Darth Revan
Thanks for the work, this video has been a blast, i played Shadowlands and still missed a lot
I never played shadowlands but after watching this i need to... i dont get why everyone hated it so much
ole Sylvy used to be the begin all, end all for me. I was on her side even through the whole bonfire incident. then i met Draka. Draka is THE ONE!!!
I'll never get over what they did to Arthas, he's the only reason I played their game to begin with.
Thanks for this, i bet this took a lot of effort. Appreciate my man! Like watching a movie.
Hm, how very fascinating, i wonder what else is in store for this World of Warcraft.
What a train wreck of a story. Thanks for the compilation tho, good work!
The fact that elunes power did not even scare or overpower sylvanas is pathetic. Tyrande should have put her in her place especially what she did to her people. The writers here really messed up and it’s obvious why people are pissed and leaving the game. To bring Aretha’s back and give him this ending is just lame
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for making this.
When u didn’t do the content but the cutscenes be fire
I don't know if this is just me, but there appears to be a trend of division of power(not to be confused with separation of powers) in the warcraft universe.
This I first noticed with the Council of Three Hammers, but it is a continuing trend, with now the Desolate Council being the newest case. Very interesting.
Great video!
Do you have a link for your char mog?
bro in the thumbnail look like high asf
shadowlands towards the end looks fun. but im not to upset about walking away from WoW. Might give War Within a try.
Perfect!
The crown of domination will be reforged in some way at some point but without the extra evilness in it.
You go girl.
I hope they will rise again by making compaign mode again
(1:25:22) Fun fact: There's an alternate voice-line here if you stand to the side and choose not to fight Sylvanas.
1:50:07 Protoss is that you? xD
Zoval vs Kiljaden, who would win?
Poor Ursoc.
shadowlands left more questions than answers
I have not followed so much the lore post-WOTLK (when I stopped playing), but @Athelarius wouldn't you say that (besides the gameplay which you can like or not) the lore of Shadowland is pretty good? Looks pretty slick to me!
1:47:29 - Christened? That's weird Blizzard, I didn't know WoW had connections IRL. Anointed? Designated? A thesaurus perhaps?
Thumbnail timer ?
And she saw it first right here.
goooooooooooooooooooooooood
Name of the character at 11:10? Ty :D
I feel arthus was wasted. we see all these other character back and it was a blast in some way but not so with arthus. he was just a whisper and a forgotten note. could of head him be a big boss or turned into something worse than the litch king.
Why only scenes with Arthas and that damn music made my tears...
Someone please ask Blizzard @ BlizzCon, why all - LITERALLY ALL - characters talk like a slowed down Christopher Walken in WoW-Cutscenes?
yo is the rock in this?? JASON!?!?!? hello!
???
You are not prepared
Anduin x Sylvanas whennnnnn
The things she did to Anduin while in the chamber in chains. I believe she loosened him up in time for the Jailer’s turn. We’re talking about domination magic lore of course!
34:55 Bro thats ANA from OW
And it came to past.
Scary dreamt talked to me Again!🤣👇🔪🤣
After frozen throne?
why arthas is good now? why there's other guy as the lich king? sorry but the last game that i played was w3 frozen throne 😬
Arthas is dead as you saw in the beginning. Anduin looks like Arthas but it’s not him nor is he Arthas son. The other guy took Arthas place after his death to ensure that no one like Arthas would try to claim the Lichs power again.
@@Sapphic288 how the hell arthas died if he was an undead? 🤣
@@Sapphic288 oh thanks for the big explication
You know i kinda wish they would make a movie on sylvanas from her turning to shadowlands, she nailed that line roasting bolvar
Wow they really borked the ending there. I mean this is like Game of Thrones season 8 levels of writing here. Sad, very sad.
But arthas killed illidan too.. i guess he didnt have a soul because he was a demon? Hmm
story line got so convoluted. Reboot?
God i hate Sylvanas and the endless plot armor she has. she should have died years ago
Every character that doesn't understand this is as sub-sentient as an Orc.
parang si kurapika lang vs Uvo ng hunter x hunter

Unbless!🔪🔪🥳🔪
I cant help it.. Why is weirdly reskined Ana Amari my maw tour-guide?
Also.. when it comes to Arthas... I think basic acceptence of his "deletion" is just off character.. I mean, I get it, Jaina has moved on... but come on... Would you be able to just basically shoot a person who made up a major part of your life into the head?
Let us say, that your best friend is gravely hurt, the pain is unbelievable... Do you
A: say your goodbyes and instantly mercy kill him
or Do you
B: try anything.. anything at all before he begs enough for you to see there is nothing to be done?
