Your composition of your paintings and your understanding the play of light in closer areas and distance has taught me so much . Thank you for the explanation and the time you take with each painting , my dear mentor!
I like your method of drawing very very much. My son in law Rugved Panjak Kamat stay in Kanada at Vanquvar .Please, Can you give him mem bership. He is learn ing in eighth Class .
We use salt back in the 1973 in art class. I still have about 10 paintings, and people still like the effects it had on the paintings. I love the softness of the colors.
wouaaa so creative !! love the details so much …. this is really amazing and original :) Reaally nice and interesting video ! it's a cool creation :) thanks for sharing !
How often do you put more water in your brush? I’m fascinated with your talent of teaching and I will try your paintings. I tried one already. Thank you so much. I’m 74 and still learning.!
Thank you kindly for this beautiful painting and a wonderful tutorial, I’ve tried this but not really successful with the salt , and the shade of the dark colour , maybe the colours I use or the watercolour painting. I will definitely try again, what you did here is absolutely a masterpiece thanks again ❤
I felt the same way, and found that the problem arose from experimenting on thin, cheap paper. The paper needs to be heavy, although cellulose works as well as cotton, so sketchbook paintings are fine.
Beautiful but I was hoping you would take the squareness of the top of the tree far right ,I keep looking at it now ha ha ,thank you for all your hints and tips x
Sir Chen, where did you obtain the photo for your work? Thank you for the very detailed video. Although my salt pattern didn’t come out anything like yours, I’m going to keep at it. :).
thank you so much! I admire your work. Could you tell me please why my paper gets a little curved when i´m painting? i use tape, a 300g paper from Canson and i still have that doubt. Is it because the paper does not have good quality?
it looks easy but really difficult to paint this with salt, i didnt get that salt appeareance as it did in that paper ,need lot of practice to acheive this
That's Great! Its even better with just a tad of black pepper. 😇 Yong, I'm supposed to receive 64 sheets of Arteza 140 lb paper today. You've mentioned it often enough that I'm anxious to try it. Supposed to be 100% cotton. 64 11X14 sheets for $30.00. Sounds like a bargain.
Hi scarz, I looked up the paper on Amazon, and I noted that it does not state that the paper is 100% cotton. I have not purchased this paper, so I cannot tell you from experience that it will work as well as Arches 100% cotton cold-press paper. Definitely a bargain, though. Good luck.
@@laurishaw7788 There's nothing about cotton on the package either. I read it somewhere but haven't found it again. I do so much reading I may have confused it with another brand. I'm still not functioning up to par since my wife died in November. Just can't concentrate fully yet. I'm probably wrong about the cotton but its good paper.
Just did more research on Arteza paper. I wasn't imagining things but was confused. The Arteza "Expert" and "Premium" papers are 100% cotton rag paper but the other grades are cellulose paper. My tablets are the Expert grade. The lower grades have some pretty bad reviews while many people like the two higher grades but others dislike them due to cockleing (sp) buckling. I haven't used cotton paper enough to know since I've only bought Arches. One brand isn't enough to judge by. Is it? I usually use cellulose paper. Strathmore Serie 400. This Arteza is good compared to what I'm used to.
You can use rock salt as well as table salt, but be aware with Rock Salt you will have more varying sizes of blooms depending on how the salt is grounded.
Does it effect the quality of the painting if you allow the paint to go hard? Or is it best to use the paint fresh out of the tube? Thanks for the content.
Hi Glynn, One of the benefits of watercolors over something like oil is that it is easily reconstituted by applying water to the dry paint. It is not necessary to add fresh paint unless you run out of the old.
Perhaps I missed it, however, would you tell us the size of the painting/paper before beginning. Will help with scale. I enjoyed doing this with you. You are the master though. Thank you for the great instruction.
I think that the group of snow-covered trees is great with the salt effect. Your posts and snow steps could be left out., and a vignette for the foreground..
You make it look as if anyone can do it, but you are the master!
Beautiful painting. Thanks for sharing.

You know what the greatest paint pigment is in the world? The one the people used in the cave paintings from 25,000 BC.
So realistic, nice techniques👍👌

Looking at the Arches paper ad, it says free return! What could be returned? Surely not unused paper. What do they accept as a return??
That's Great! Its even better with just a tad of black pepper. 😇

what is the type of brush (with the loop at the top)..
thank you for your video ... very interesting
Hi M, The brushes Yong uses can be found here: Brushes - enjoyingart.com/brushes
You can use rock salt as well as table salt, but be aware with Rock Salt you will have more varying sizes of blooms depending on how the salt is grounded.
Watch the video. That info is discussed fully!!
It is sauna from Finland!
WoW!!,

Hi, what angle is your background board? i can see the colour running slightly.
Steve, at one point, I heard him say that the paper is at about 10 degrees.
Perhaps I missed it, however, would you tell us the size of the painting/paper before beginning. Will help with scale. I enjoyed doing this with you. You are the master though. Thank you for the great instruction.
Hi JLO, for these watercolor demonstrations, Yong's paper is usually 9" by 12".
@@laurishaw7788 Thank you.
Tell me please, the size of salt is more than sand?
The salt used in this painting is only the normal cooking/table salt.
Very nich
Do you paint on flat table or elevated ?
Usually Yong does watercolors at an angle tilted about 10 degrees.
❤️🌹👏
At what stage of wetness should one drop the salt?
Hi Jayesh. Yong has another video that answers your question. You can view it here ruclips.net/video/M6rbVGUxLBw/видео.html.
