- The Kansas City Chiefs were involved in a massive controversy against the Seattle Seahawks during week 1 of the 1983 season when one scout got some, shall we say, illegal information on Seattle's offense and their snap count. And to say that there was an uproar over this would be putting it lightly, to the point where it deserves a deep dive 40 years later

I think later that season, the Seahawks beat the chiefs 51-48 the second time these teams met.
This is one of those “Good thing social media wasn’t around back then” cuz if this happened today, the Chiefs would be facing hell on Twitter, RUclips, etc

1. Also, in 1982, both Packers/Bears games were wiped out by the strike. Most other divisional matchups had one meeting wiped out.
2. Seahawks in 83 also swept the Raiders.
3. Speaking of 1982, here's a good topic idea: NBC broadcasted Canadian Football League games during the strike weeks .... and flopped big time.

As a Seahawks fan since they became a team, Patera's coaching was exciting to watch 👍 On a side note, being from Florida the Dolphins are absolutely my second favorite team lol

The Seahawks might have achieved the ultimate rarity here: they opened the preseason at Mile High against the Broncos, and then played them in the wildcard game, meaning they played division rivals to open the preseason, regular season, and postseason.
Also Theotis Brown played in this game as a Hawk but would end up a Chief four weeks later. His career was cut short by a heart attack in February 1985.
I can't really blame that scout for that. It's not as if he was an NFL vet at that point. Thank goodness his career wasn't negatively affected by it. The Seahawks would come out of the other side of this just fine anyway.

YEP! Signed a released player from the team that they were playing (I believe it was the Jets) that week. After they not just beat them but DESTROYED them, they released the same player. Suspicious, no?
Since this happened to the Seahawks this man should have been banned for life from ALL SPORTS
I remember when Greg Mohns coached the B.C. Lions and quit midseason in 2000. Then they won the Grey Cup after that.
This was also done by the Cheatriots right before a game and before Spygate. they signed a released player and ALLEGEDLY had him bring copies of his former team's playbook (I believe it was the Jets?) After the game, they released him. kiiiiiiinda suspicious because they destroyed said team.

@@OfficialJaguarGator9 Levy was fired after the 1982 season due to a dull offense that only drew 11 000 to a late season home game and the Chiefs brass decided to spice the offense up with John Mackovic.
Levy was way more successful then nox was
