Great video thank you for sharing As I have just bought my first backhoe 580 super e An my pump is leaking Now after seeing your video I’m confident I can fix myself .....
Travis, thanks for stopping by. If you are on a budget you might be able to just change the drive shaft seal if the shaft isn’t scored. My 580 has been a good machine.
Good day, Nice to see you working on the pump! I plan to re-build my pump but first to keep going with my work project I have purchased a new one as well as the crank adapter! From experience when replacing the pump, It's recommended to replace the adapter, Filter and try put fresh new hydro fluid! Good to see you back up and running.!
SERIOUSLY?!? As soon as I laid eyes on the schematic, my eyes got as big as silver dollars, my heart began to race, I started to sweat & nearly passed out. You are ONE. BRAVE. MAN. Mr. RAIN!!! I literally laughed out loud when I heard you say: *ONE thing's for sure ... it can't leak any worse than what it did when I took it apart!* I hope all the time, effort, money, blood, sweat & tears you put into this repair has worked for you. I gotta tell ya ... the spin cycle on my 15 year old washer took a dump on me 2 weeks ago. I cannot afford to call a service man. I have been a DIY-er all of my life, but, I know NOTHING about washers. After hearing what you said, it inspired me to call my son and ask him to pull the washer out for me, so I could take a peek & try to figure it out. He would be more than willing to try to fix it for me if he had the time. He works 2 jobs, has a family & gets about 5 hrs available for sleep. He gets ONE day off, and is currently building his own barn/shed ALONE & trying his best to beat the snow. So, I don't want to pressure him anymore by asking him to do anything for me. That being said ... THANK YOU for the inspiration!!! I feel like "the little engine that could" right now. I'll let you know. Love & prayers
I had the same phenomenon when looking at the schematic and all the parts laying on the bench :D It is by the grace of God it is working. Thanks Kathleen!
I must save this special, just in case I need to do this, though for the time being hubby gets that stuff, after all he used to work that kind in the past. I can't do everything 😁
Mr. Rain no fears! He would have to be forced to watch and he might tell you to do something differently because it's less work, but overall: good to go if it works! 😂
I have found myself doing a project and standing back after finishing and asking myself "Why didn't I do it some other way...It would have been so much easier".
Mr. Rain isn't that what life is? We climb a mountain only to find there is a narrow path we had not noticed... just learning experience, as long as it works in the end 😉
I know this is an older video but I have a 580F with a leaking pump. I am curious did you get the repacking kit from the Case dealer or somewhere else?
I believe he ordered it on Ebay. I had looked recently and it is no longer available through that same seller, but I am sure one can do a search and find it through another seller
Yup! That's my dear ole dad!! Y'all wish he was yours but NO HES NOT!! Annnd my brudders and I ain't sharing!! Bwahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love, hugs and blessing! "The kid!" 😆
Can you kindly provide a link to where you purchased the seal kit? I need one as my case is leaking pretty bad from the pump. I can’t seem to find a rebuild kit on ebay
This video is rather old, I did look through our old ebay orders and that one is no longer available. I am sure there are other places or sellers offering a rebuild kit though
It is pretty much done, he only needs to do some trim painting on the outside and I think a few minor things in the basement but it looks wonderful! I am planning on doing an update video once it is all finished but not sure when that will be since our rains have returned.
Hey Zach, thanks for stopping by. Yeah, they can be a beast of burden in more ways than one, right? This machine has been a dandy. If you were closer I would be glad to give ya a hand! I love the area where you and Jamie live!
Great video thank you for sharing

WTG!!! I KNEW you could do it!!! I have all the confidence in the world in you!
Question: Can assume that the seal shaft can be removed and replaced without taking the pump completely apart?
awesome video Pat !! what was interesting and informative !! hope it's fixed the problem and you get many more years out of it !! thanks for sharing
Even after 27 years of marriage, I am always still amazed at how he can seem to fix anything!
Pretty cool, I can see you have patience
Thanks Pearl, sometimes patience is required :)
great video thankyou

Ha ha. Don't let hubby watch then, he might see all the stuff I do wrong!

You bet, more than one way to get it done.
Thank you, i was going to pull the radiator out to get to the pump.
I am glad Patrick's video was helpful! Thanks!
Excellent content sir

I was able to get mine on EBay. The CR seal you might be able to get locally from your parts store. The kit I got came with the CR seal as well.
Now thats something you dont see. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome Bob, appreciate it.
How did it turn out after three years of use any leaks? Any other issues? Did you notice the pump had more power after you rebuilt it? Thanks
I will try to remember to tell Patrick to come in here and update but as far as I know, he has not had any leaks and it has been working great
Where did you order the kit from? I have a JBC 1400B I would like to make sure the pump is at 100%.
I believe he ordered it on Ebay. I had looked recently and it is no longer available through that same seller, but I am sure one can do a search and find it through another seller

Ha ha, You are a stubborn girl needing lots of discipline, however, those strong willed kids usually grow up to make great leaders!
Did you do a preassure test?
I am not Patrick but what I do know is this was at least a couple of years ago and it has been working great. He uses the backhoe quite a bit
Can you kindly provide a link to where you purchased the seal kit? I need one as my case is leaking pretty bad from the pump. I can’t seem to find a rebuild kit on ebay

By the way...hows your son's house remodeling coming?
Nicely, Bank signed off on it and his payments are reasonable. I think Heidi has raw video to put up at some point. Thanks for asking!
