Hi! I’m an absolute novice at joinery but you have inspired me to give this table ago! I’m worried about drilling the holes through the wood straight. Any tips on how to do this would be appreciated!
Hi Menno! Great video, thanks for the inspiration. Just wondering: did you use stainless steel for the pins through the table? And do you think galvanised or zinc plated will work as well?
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "how to build your own dining room table" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Fenadelyn Esteemed Framework - (do a search on google )? It is a great one off product for discovering how to improve your woodworking skills minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate got great results with it.
This is glorious, I have been researching "how to build farmhouse table top" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Fenadelyn Esteemed Framework - (do a search on google )? Hi, I love your table! I am looking into making one very similar to yours with reclaimed wood as well. A few questions for you... where did you find the legs from? Why didn't you try to hide those threaded bars inside the wood on the side by making bigger holes and eventually using wood putty to cover up? Thanks for sharing your video.
I got the legs from my intership, they miss calculated the legs and they where useless. The whole reason is to make it look industrial, if you cover them up it will look less cool
Damn, I was really hoping you'd rip those boards in half and use the other half for another project. At least now you have something to hide behind to protect yourself from a nuclear blast.

That’s not a dining table. That’s a table for a meat butcher or for a machine shop where a large heavy anvil is clamped onto it.
Such a cool piece! At first I thought the screws on the side would look bad. But the at the end it looks amazing
Absolutely brilliant.
Beautiful work. Congrats.
love the threaded rod idea. nice industrial look. great job buddy!
that's looks fantastic
Здорово получилось! Спасибо за идею! Появилась мысль, сделать такой у нас во дворе у дома, но в городе!)
Hi, table looks great! I am going to make one myself but I am wondering what size steels you used for the legs?
Good job on the build...
Any chance you can put sizes of beams and over all size along with threaded rod size...thanks..
Great job!
Hi if you were to sell it how much would you charge? In £ ?
Love the look of this table! Nicely done! Can you please tell me what grit sandpaper you used ?
Amazing
Lovely! And quite soothing to watch too
Thank you!
You make this look so easy!!
これは最高だ、、
This table is so cool .
Are those the Canadian truckers hunking???

Hi! I’m an absolute novice at joinery but you have inspired me to give this table ago! I’m worried about drilling the holes through the wood straight. Any tips on how to do this would be appreciated!
Drill them form both sides wil definitely help drilling straight.
Magnifique 👍
Beautiful table! Is it possible to know the length, width and thickness of your wooden planks or the size of the table?
length of the table is in the video 2 meter.
Can you please tell me what size rod you used was it a m16 or 18?
Mooi gemaakt kerel
What size was the timber you used? Very smart looking
Love very good job, like🙏
Can we buy this 🙌
Great job mate !
Wat leuk 🤩🤩
Hi Menno! Great video, thanks for the inspiration. Just wondering: did you use stainless steel for the pins through the table? And do you think galvanised or zinc plated will work as well?
I'm not sure it whas stainless steel. I hope so because it will definitly rust. I dont know if galvanised or zinc would work.
@@mennolabeee thanks for the reply! Sorry but I do have another question. How did you drill that straight haha. Did you use anything of a jig?
@@Adrian-sv1mo Just drill half way thrue the wood, 6-8cm deep wil work fine if you drill a little bit the wrong way.
Nice! How'd you manage to get the holes for the threaded rods aligned so well without any kind of drill press?
From both sides and a larger drill bit so you have some space for errors.
What is the whidth of the slabs? Awesome build btw!
Rather watch this here than crappy y Facebook Vids
The ends of the threaded rod should have been recessed in counterbores and to avoid injury

I would prefer gun blue on those bolts. Just my preference.
Michael, why? He ground down the sharp edges.
great way to keep dumbasses off the table. i support the nuts!! ....... of the threaded rod for those of u dumbasses on here!
Hi. Good afternoon...fri,24th july 2020

What wood was used?
Que madeira foi usado?
¿Qué madera se uso?
Thanks for the attention!.
Really nice table! What are the dimensions of the beams used?
So perfect omg 💕
Enjoyed the video very much. Love the table and think it may be possible to pull it off myself someday. How about a barn beam bench?
Thank you! A bench would make a nice set with the table!
What grit did you sand it to?
Nice build👌
Great work! Well done. One question: Is this a table you could take apart, let's say if you move?
Yes! no glue is used
Great work
How do you avoid racking with no lateral support?
It' s not glued together and it has 4 steel rods trough it so i think it' s ok.
@@mennolabeee lateral racking. IE end to end.
Perfect where can i see dimensions of the legs
Amazing table, this will last a hundred year bro. I might give it a try, any tips?
Thanks! Just start it's easy, make sure to drill straight hols thats all.
3:20 how did you drill precisely straight holes? You couldnt have done it by just eyeballing it
Yes i did! just go half on both sides .
@@mennolabeee i dont understand what you mean
@@TheJosip1000 I did eyeball it from both sides of the beam.
@@mennolabeee oh come on! Without measuring? Even if you measured it, maybe you could eyeball one tunnel in the beams, but somany? no way
@@TheJosip1000 Yes offcourse measure on both side. but the rod is 16mm and the hole is 18mm so you got some room for error

Awesome table dude! Where can I find long bolts like the ones you used to make this epic table?
In Holland they are very common. where are you from?
they are called threaded rod in the UK, pack of 5 from Screwfix....
@@mennolabeee West virginia usa
NIGEL JOHN Home Depot, Lowe’s, and your local hardware store all have them
What wood is it please?
It's pine. from an old building
You have wasted such beautiful wood. I thought at least you would fill in the gaps with apoxy (with nice colour).
Damn, I was really hoping you'd rip those boards in half and use the other half for another project. At least now you have something to hide behind to protect yourself from a nuclear blast.
hahah true!
Nice table! but i think you need to practise on cutting with a mitresaw
Great vid. But we don't need to see you changing your saw blade.
What did you use to finish the wood? :)
Cooked/boiled linseed oil is what they call it in The Netherlands
Is it stable?
Yes
netjes👍🏿
Very nice table, but pull your pants up LOL
Who cares haha
U are from Holland right?
yes
Ik ook zag al aan de omgeving en toen ik de vrachtwagens hoorde dacht ik dat moet wel
all that material and tool for that? dude you could make at least two good tables
In my first work I always used Woodglut plans.
Beautiful table - what fixings did you use to attach the legs to the base? Thanks in advance
Just normal big wood screws
