I have almost all the packs, including all the build kits and some of the cas kits (yes, I know 😭). I do NOT own bust the dust. Every time I get the urge, I remember watching other people play with it and seeing just how irritating and glitchy the dust mechanic looks. I know it's optional but then I'd just be paying $5 to have a vacuum in my sims' closet 😭 laundry day I could get behind but THIS? I'll save my $5 for a different useless pack lmao

i actually really like bust the dust; not really because of the dust bunnies or anything but because of like the slice of life attitude. it gives the game a bit more realism and i always have it turned on. idk maybe i just like seeing my sims struggle with menial things like cleaning, but it’s pretty essential for me.
I do wish the bust the dust was fixed, because its interesting to have something to do. Like the laundry pack. Some people complain that they dont want to do laundry or dusting, but if they are complaining about realism life not be in the sims... so they need to deal with this.
I love to use the sweepers as clutter in my laundry rooms, other than that bust the dust is DISABLED. Those dust bunnies fill me with so much rage, and they pop up no matter how much you sweep. It’s a full time job 😭
Although I've run into a problem where I go somewhere like the world menu while they're active, and they just stop where they are or get stuck in rooms
Honestly the only reason I bought Laundry was because it included off the grid washing aka handwashing and drying. Which is real fun when I make my sims play in a world set in another time period. Later on I actually started playing with the modern ones too with my 'normal' sims. So cue my disappointment when I saw that Bust the dust only included vacuum cleaning and electricity machinery, I'd hoped there would be at least a old fashion broom but no :/ So I never got this kit.
Gotta wait for the Broom Broom expansion. where they charge you 40 dollars to be able to sweep the floor, and basegame moping somehow gets busted in the process too.

A surprise they missed the obvious choice in this kit to offer a off the grid solution for cleaning :/
I did find a mod that has brooms that can be used with the kit. Functional Broom by MizoreYukii. I don’t have a lot of mods, but this is one I use all the time for my off grid sims.
tip for everyone saying they're annoyed by how much they have to sweep/vaccuum: if you have cats and dogs, put down one of the roombas that come w the pack on every floor of ur house, and the roombas will operate on a schedule that keeps the house clean for you!
Tip to get dust faster is a smaller area and try and make it heavily trafficked all day and the dust pops up sooo quick. Or mine is just bugged and I get dust in the first 12 hours of living there 😂
I can’t believe I’m this early. I love bust the dust, it is a little annoying in how fast it gets dirty. But it’s honestly realistic cause it happens every few sim days and considering you have to sweep everyday in real life it makes sense. I love the vid Kala and hope snap in doing well.
I ADORE bust the dust!!!! It's pretty much the only kit I feel is actually worth the money! And yes, the treasure is still in the possible loot from the bunnies, it's just been tuned a bit. And yeah, you need a closed in room to get bunnies
I have issues with items dust bunnies bring because some of them listed as not belonging to my sim. So I cannot sell them. I heard some people were fixing it by putting items in and out and back in into inventory. But it didn't work for me sadly.
@@steelclackers2611the best work around for this if you have seasons and 2+ sims is to use the gift feature to "gift" to a different resident. The best other option is if you drag it onto the actual lot, you can usually sell it in build/buy

The dust bunnies are still amazing. When they find crops/seeds they are always perfect. I've gotten perfect crystal seeds and money tree seeds. Also death flowers.
Bust the Dust is my favorite kit. I dont care about cas or building, I feel like once you use an item once, you 've pretty much played through the kit. I love love love the gameplay and I wish they made more fun little gameplay kits like this. For the same price as a couple of outfits, you get two new aspirations and a BIG gameplay feature that adds a challenge to any playthrough. I have never had the kit be glitchy for me and I play with it enabled on every save. I don't understand the hate that my favorite kit gets.
When this pack first came out, I was literally going crazy about their cuteness, and I was trying to mimic every tiny cute sound they made. And I was on a call with my boyfriend... He got jeaoluos of these creatures and actually told me, "You never make these sounds around me." I didn't know what to tell him :D But I was really enjoyed their cute little sounds.

Barrier to entry. Not nearly as many people would pay for the high price that would come with that - they’d rather have people pick and choose what they want to maximize sales. Explains why they went as far as now making base game free - they get people into playing and allow those people to buy whatever they want, instead of hoping people want the game enough to pay the upfront price + more.
Money! Having each little kit, expansion pack, etc separately allows them to make as many as they want and charge more than the additional base game. Why would they change their strategy if people are spending like $500 or more for all the DLC? No one will pay $500 for the sims base game.
i actually did a rags to riches using bust the dust and i got the golden frog! this was only a few days ago so you can still get a decent amount but i didnt get as much random simoleons as you used to be able to get
Base Game is overpowered. It's free and you can get Dragonfruit pretty quickly, and they be worth a lot. I started with 0 simoleons, and my sims are multi millionaires, within days. I know it's boring but Id rather screw around without worrying about money

I played the "aliens kidnapped my parents" scenario recently and when my child Sim befriended a dust bunny, they got a MONEY TREE. Later they got a crystal tree seed. Funnily enough, they never got the gold frog even though I have Jungle Adventure. It was fun but I also can't recommend Bust the Dust because you have to literally constantly feed the bunnies dust even after you befriend them to keep their mood high. My Sims would go to work or school and that would destroy the dust bunny's mood. And half of the time, maids won't vacuum the dust, so you really have to take care of it yourself. So most of the time, I just turn it off so I don't have to deal with it.
i play with dust system ON because i want my sims have some routines to do, like cleaning, doing laundry the only glitch i have is when i had a 1 storey house and then i build 2d it is filthy immediately and its impossible to clean no matter how long i vacuum, then i turn off dust system and immediately turn it on so then there is no issues

I love Bust the Dust kit and the Laundry stuff pack! They give sims realistic mundane chores to do. I once tried befriending a dust bunny while doing a 0 simoleons rags to riches and it eventually gave me a Jungle Adventure collectible golden plate worth 9k. A much needed good start to buy necessities for my "house".
Some glitches that I encounter : Disappearing homework books when a Sim doing his homework get interrupted. Book reappears hanging in the air after reloading the game. Sim forget how to eat the food that is just in front of them. The latest : Impossible to put cooked food in the fridge.
Is it worth the money? No. But I really like having my floors get dirty and like having my sims clean. It's like how I enjoy having them do laundry pretty frequently. I love the realism

Yes, dust bunnies won't show up without walls. It's dumb because the floor is still dusty, but they only show up inside a room.

But also you can sell them using the multiselect tool.
