Hello docmcstuffins! Both procedures are effective. The difference is that not all patients are candidates for gastric sleeve and not all are candidates for gastric bypass. Gastric bypass provides faster weight loss, but is a slightly more invasive procedure. The ideal is to have a consultation, that way we could assess which procedure the patient qualifies for.
