Great review. I have the nao. I purchased the nao+ spare battery. My nao would not bluetooth connect to the petzl android app on my phone to configure the headlamp. But downloading the app on my pc and connecting my nao to the pc did work.
I just took off my Petzl Tikka from the washing machine, it has been in it for 1 hour, I got it out and immediately check if it works, well all of the lights and modes were working properly, so actually you can wash it without removing the band 😂
At continuous 750 lm the unit overheats and stops working correctly. You can't change the mode, turn it off or pair with your phone. If you plan to use this lamp at lower setting, then you will be fine.
So, the battery in my NAO will work with the NAO+ that I just ordered? In reading reviews about the NAO+ I remember seeing it mentioned that the NAO+ battery no longer accepts AAA batteries, is this correct? Thanks for an informative review of this product. I've had the original NAO since they came out years ago - it just keeps providing reliable lighting without a single problem. I'm hoping the NAO+ will have the same longevity...
You can disconnect the internal battery from a nao battery housing and clip it inside the nao+ housing . But yes the outer housings annoyingly have deliberately got slightly different connections . I've checked with petzl and it appears I have a prototype battery on my torch from early release and the new petzl nao+ dont have the option to clip AAA inside.
@@penrynbigbird it's worth the upgrade for the bluetooth and app alone. It's a super useful feature if you go through the night and want max bright until sunrise without running out. No more surprise running low flashes when you least want it
I've got one, have run it for 3 years. Use it for trail running. It's ace.
I got the first generation model, had it since 2014 and it still goes strong with the original battery

It is impossible to take the battery pack off unless you know how to. If you haven’t n’been taught you will not be able to remove it.
I mean ... I figured it out without looking up the instructions
