    Met Curtis LeMay several times in the 80s at March AFB. couldnt carry on a conversation with him as he was deaf as a doorknob. Oh well.

    LeMay was a true warrior..his policies were 100% correct.He fought to win.

    LeMay also wanted to bomb Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis. He wasn't a thinker. Fortunately, smarter people prevailed and prevented WW III, slong with a USSR sub officer, who refused to turn his key to launch a nuclear tipped torpedo.

    I hear that LeMay would order 50 caliber gns be removed from B-29 to allow it to carry more bmbs.
