Much better take by Krueger today. His last evaluation was dreck. Still, he's not high on the Giants. But the Giants are hanging around near .500. They ARE a playoff contender. And it looks like they'll be better this summer.
When I listen to you talk, I just keep asking myself, how on earth does Zaidi still have a job? His whole calling card was to bring some of that Billy Beane magic to the giants, but he hasn't improved the farm system much. They've maybe managed to develop one good hitter. One. How's he getting an extension ?
Yes Farhan was sold to us fans as an expert in scouting, drafting and developing. So far our best prospects are guys from the previous regime. The only hitter who might be a good power bat is Eldridge and he’s 3-4years away. Farhan sucks the only reason Ramos is even on the field is because of injuries. This guy has had plenty of time to improve the farm and he has failed.
If the Giants were the proverbial " one player away from a pennant", it might make sense to get Trout. The Giants are 4-5 players away from a pennant is the problem. So, no
Ok watched the video. The name is powerful but it’s not the same. But id be ok with it. What’s left on his deal? 4 years? It’s entertainment so I don’t care at this point. Trout here would be rad.
Trout would be a perfect fit! Huge name that still hits for great power! Before he got hurt he was knocking the cover off the ball! We could even DH him! I think it's a great idea! He isn't that old! He still has a solid 5 years especially of he just plays DH! Lee matos and Ramos can man the outfield. Trout DH.
Depends on the trade package, & curious if Trout would waive his no-trade clause. Matos & Luciano need to be playing everyday alongside Ramos. Let's see what there is to build on.
First off I'd like to point out, that on paper, a healthy SF G team would have been considered a contender for nothing less than a wild card by the numbers if they maintained somewhat healthy... With the right chemistry, which is what I think it is that we truly lack... There is no removing the injury bug, so other than becoming healthy, creating chemistry, thus allowing for a team identity to be forged by this club, is vital... As I see it, it's up in the air where the chemistry or spark that is needed will come from... Will it be a bold move by management to sustain or even increase the amount they rely on top prospects who are only being used in limited roles, that have forced that topic to be a reasonable or even a sensible direction... This wouldn't be the case, but there are a few top prospects who have shown an ability to ignite this team, not only in small ball production, but power, gap-to-gap, timely, and situational hitting, booting the energy of the Giants Players, Fanatics alike, especially the slumping core of seasoned vets who have no doubt felt the pressure of an underachieving sub .500 ball club, that given the circumstances are not underachieving at all... If a trade for a big-name player, like Mike Trout is accomplished, the value he will have is significant to this year and beyond for the franchise, even if he has less value as a player in comparison to what he is originally expected to be paid in 2025... Several things to consider before shutting this door... If he is available this year at all the cost will be whatever it is that gets the Angels to trade, if M. Trout waives the no-trade clause, then for 2025 and beyond, calculating his aging body, his "if healthy" physical abilities to perform at the highest level at the plate, projected future health and career totals, the numbers you would be hoping for if paying in access of 30 million a year, and restructure his contract to possibly earn more than is expected in 2025, based on his production through incentives... I am not aware of his contract but it seems to me there is always a will if there is the need for a thrill, so go for the kill... lol Sorry I couldn't help myself... I think a healthy or the idea of a healthy M. Trout would be, is, in my opinion, is the only way this Franchise back to being one that attracts and lands top tear star talent in free agency and the ability to sign top draft picks... Are there any other current or future falling Stars with scary contracts playing for sinking teams that would be willing to trade for nearly nothing simply to avoid the cost of possible failed dreams weighed up against the possibility of a comeback of the year type season and/ or the expected career numbers over the next few seasons or so?? I see M. Trout having all the tools to do just this in the right situation and I would love it to be as a San Fransico Giant...
Kris Bryant and Mike Trout both hit like prime-WillieMays during their rookie seasons and the dying baseball media declared them to be all time greats. Pure fantasy. The thing is tho a TON of ballplayers throughout this game's history have had Hall of Fame seasons.
It's worth the risk. Who knows, with us he could stay much healthier. The Angels are a horribly ran organization after all and I wouldn't be surprised that the trainers and staff aren't helping all that much keeping Trout on the field.
Nobody wants the back half of a ridiculous Mike Trout contract. You are talking about 20 teens Mike Trout but it's 2024 and he is broken down. Farhan isn't making any trades. Get over it. "Hey Mike... do you want to hang out in beautiful Newport Beach or come to s%@t hole SF to sit around injured for the next 7 years?"
As cool as it would be to have a guy like Trout here, at the same time, not sure I want the Giants to trade for him because of his injury history. As we've seen so far this year and the past couple of years, the Giants struggle with injuries. This has become an injured team. Do we really want another guy who is an injury risk and not the same player in Trout on the Giants?
yeah perfect bc he is over 30 and often injured. Perfecto!! How about the team get younger and more athletic and not try to rescue older, injured vets.
Carlos Correa is TWICE the ballplayer that Trout is. In fact- I would say that Mike Trout is the single most overrated baseball player of all time. Do people simply not notice that he has stopped stealing bases AND stopped playing Gold Glove defense AND is literally constantly injured ???? Look friends- Mike Trout's rookie year was phenomenal but he simply ain't that guy anymore.
Bane Ruth, great player, but highly overrated. He faced pitchers throwing 70-80 mph, "freak" deliveries were outlawed, and he only played against white players.
“What do they do?” How about invent a time machine, go back to 2018 and DON’T hire Farhan. His philosophy (moneyball platoon analytics)and lack of creativity and inspirational leadership have resulted in a joyless clubhouse culture and a boring , mediocre product on the field (exception being the one outlier 2021 season). As a lifelong Giants fan, I’m just forever thankful for our 2010-12-14 championships. But right now, they are not fun to watch. #FF2024
They are extremely frustrating to watch or extremely exciting to watch, unfortunately, right now they are only exciting 47.89% of the time... I do have hopes for a healthy club to compete but, a big name to attract fans and other good players who are good enough to choose where they play and for how much ( mostly ), and be the catalyst this team desperately needs is in order, I believe...

Ok I didn’t expect this video I’m fully tuned in.

We’ve needed a “middle of the order bat” since Bonds left. We need hitters period, Trout would at least provide a much needed “face” to this franchise

Giants need a middle of the order hitter, bullpen and starting pitching. Man, they need so much help everywhere 😩
Our best case scenario for pitching hasn’t had a chance yet
Big Trout fan, but can he stay healthy. Farhan has yet to deliver a big time hitter.
You’re reading the K strike out ranking wrong. The #1 team in strikeouts means they strike out the most of any team, Giants being 20th is good
So statistically they suck at everything and yet they're sitting right around 500.
They just need someone to bring some excitement and pop in the middle of the order. They’re like watching paint dry. Id rather watch golf 🤷♂️
Could Trout to the Giants actually happen? History says Giants wont make that move.
I dont get injuries in baseball. Non contact sport with more serious injuries then football.
Forget Trout, Larry. Just forget it.
TOO MANY ADS IN A 10 minute video SHEESH SMH
Kris Bryant and Mike Trout both hit like prime-WillieMays during their rookie seasons and the dying baseball media declared them to be all time greats. Pure fantasy. The thing is tho a TON of ballplayers throughout this game's history have had Hall of Fame seasons.
Orioles would be a better fit or the Astros
Unless it’s a pure and total salary dump by the Angels the Giants have NOTHING to go the other way in return.
There's no way the Giants take on that contract. Would be fun to see him in our lineup but man he's just always injured at this point
It's worth the risk. Who knows, with us he could stay much healthier. The Angels are a horribly ran organization after all and I wouldn't be surprised that the trainers and staff aren't helping all that much keeping Trout on the field.
@jaxkwhit I'm 100% with you. I'd do it. We certainly can't sign real hitters but I don't see this organization taking that money on unfortunately
Trout, Salmon, Sardine...Angels just draft species of piscies.
Giants should relocate...
You are trippin Larry. Not even for a loan for the rest of this year. Your pickle is in the pig on this one.
Nobody wants the back half of a ridiculous Mike Trout contract. You are talking about 20 teens Mike Trout but it's 2024 and he is broken down. Farhan isn't making any trades. Get over it. They refused to trade him in the offseason. They aren't doing it now.
Bottom line, he ain't coming.
He's always injured how many games has he played in the last 3 years?
Angels ain’t trading trout
Bro I'm an angels fan. Back off the only thing I have left to enjoy about my team 😅😅😅😅
Trout is hurt again though. This would make no sense.
Trout already plays for a trash team why would you want to come to another one?
Really? A perfect edition? I love the idea of trout being a giant but he is always hurt. Maybe if he was younger and not always hurt
yeah perfect bc he is over 30 and often injured. Perfecto!! How about the team get younger and more athletic and not try to rescue older, injured vets.
He's hurt

*I gotta say that Ryne Sandberg is more overrated than Mike Trout

Giant failure
