Camden Yards in Baltimore Maryland, THAT'S THE STADIUM that set the standard for what we know now as a MODERN ballpark... After all these years, it still holds up in 2022.... It's still a sight to see
So many great memories..my dad and I made it to the second to last game at old Memorial stadium! Couldn't wait for Camden yards to open. Moved back to Ohio before the season started but made it to a game the next year.
These are some of my favorite unis for both teams. In fact, I played for the Houston Orioles in the National Men's Baseball League two years after this and these were our unis except we had a single line of black piping on our pants. Our Indians used the BP Jersey and plain pants.
Watching Sutcliffe work, I see why talk of a pitch clock arose. The man gets the ball back and deals. He doesn't contemplate the meaning of life between pitches.
The ballpark that changes sports facilities forever!
More than anything, watching this game makes me miss Joe Angel. Damn, what a voice. And to have him and Chuck Thompson in the same booth? Dream team!
even better since jon miller was on ESPN when this happened
.
ain't the beer cold!
This was the soundtrack to my childhood summer nights…. I miss my dad.
I was 11 and this was everything in Baltimore as a kid. Used to mute the tv to listen to the radio broadcast.

Do they ever mention this is the first ever game at Camden Yards?
Yup they do in the top of the first
Before albert belle era
I was there at those games. 1st homer wuz by paul Sorrento. Cleveland indians.
Note they don't display or announce the pitch count.
Well not really the first game played was an exhibition game there a few days before vs Eddie Murray’s Mets. -U10
Chuck Thompson thinks the park is called "Orioles Park at Camden Yards"
He’s right
That’s what it was, doofus lol.
@@donalddiamond1536 It has always been Oriole Park, not Orioles Park
Timeless
the prototype
Imagine this place debuting in a world of cookie-cutter, generic baseball stadiums. It's must've been like a spaceship arriving in the 1800's.

WHAT PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT IF YOU WAS WORKING THERE ? WHAT WAS IS LIKE ?
I can’t imagine watching baseball on tv without being able to see the score or the outs or the pitch count or the mph it’s just like DAMN IT
Top 3 games: Deleon Young ALDS game 2, 2,131, and I wonder what the other one would be.
Who's there with Joe Angel? Also who called this on TV?
Charm City Gamer - that would be Chuck Thompson & Jon Miller. Also, this is the WBAL radio commentary and not the TV commentary.
