Was crusin by round my hale in Vietnam and noticed taro growing in an old ladies yard. Havent had lau lau since my farming days in Waipi'o Valley on Big Island. So am going soon go get the lu'au leaf (taro leaf) and going make one of my favorite foods eva. Thanks for your channel. Aloha spirit brought from afar, mahalos. If you stay westside ohau, have a mango at ranches for me and Aloha to all my braddahs and sistas.

Mahalo Plenty Relle! 🙏🏼 made it with turkey tails for a Friendsgiving recently and it turned out awesome! Lau Lau is so versatile, thank you so much for sharing this 🫶🏼
Would like a Lau Lau recipe with one column with Hawaiian ingredients and another column for substituting if Hawaiian ingredients not available. I live in west Texas with cactus and mesquite. 😢. Thanks for the ideas.
Nothing tastes exactly like the real deal. But you can swap out the lu'au leaves for collard greens or even spinach. Fillings can be the same or try your hand at your own ideas.

Does it have to be pork? I don’t eat that but I like the idea just not that meat
You can use any protein you'd like. The cook times of proteins vary, so adjust accordingly.
