  • In this episode begin with Kieran Tierney's unfortunate Euro 2024 adventure, which was cut short by a serious injury and has significant implications for his future.
We also round-up some of the other Arsenal players involved, and chat about comments made by Declan Rice (and others) about criticism from ex-England players, before James outlines the changes he'd make for their final group game on Tuesday evening. There's some transfer chat involving Eberechi Eze, and listener questions about officiating at the Euros, whether any players have caught the eye, possible changes to the coaching staff this summer, why we both would like a player with pace, and lots more, including details of a summer event in Los Angeles.

It's adorable how shocked James is at media failing to report with any sense of integrity. Mate, you've barely scratched the surface

Since you are making the trip over the pond you may as well come on up to the Oakland Athletic Club, Gooner central in the Bay for a meet and greet and a pint (or two)

I'm not surprised with KTs injury. Scotland have been responsible for many of his absences. His obsession to play these additional matches has cost him a good club career. I'm sure if he had retired from the national squad 2 or 3 years ago he would have had less injuries due to more rest. I gave up on him 2 years ago when we were chasing 4th and he played every min for Scotland in spring (when Robertson phoned in sick) and then came back injured for our run in.

At the end of the day kieran is a good squad player,
mabye the club should put an arm round him and possibly get something out of him in an arsenal shirt ?
I only say because were getting no money now.

Not fair play. Pretty tone deaf from the players tbh. Should wind it in and get on with trying to not be shit. Even if they had a point, no one would want to hear it right now; all they're doing is creating further discourse, controversy & division.

On Rise, I think in that clip I basically sense him directing the speech/urging the fans(England fans)to think and be more positive supporting their team heather than asking the media to cheerlead.

Havertz impressed me. It’s not 18 century anymore when goals are expected to come from striker, wirtz, musiala, sane are for goals not less than Havertz, he and them builds openings for each other. And again, the guy has chances, this is the most important, this means he can play the game. His chances wasn’t anything like ‘clear’ so you cannot blame him really, and for a fact Fullkrug can make himself chances like Havertz can, his not that smart in reading space, his not that mobile.
Naggelsman is a strong specialist, which means Havertz will keep starting.

The difference in sentiment when KT gets injured vs when Partey gets injured is chalk and cheese. Everyone loses their shit with frustration and borderline anger with TP.
It's sad for KT though, the nature of his injuries are depressing too.

There's a big elephant in the room with Partey. Also, if KT was a starting LB, and we were depending on him for our season, the tone would be different. Arsenal have already moved on from KT.

@@sandboxplayerz667 The elephant is irrelevant because nobody knows the truth. And Partey did not make us dependant on him himself, the club did that.

@@SueMyChin He was one of our main players for last 3 years. Every team has main players. If Salah had Partey's injury record, their fans would have been frustrated with him. If he was on loan in Spain while Arsenal were looking to sell, no one would be bothered about his injuries.

There are times when I hear things on the podcast and I can't wait to see how Poorly Drawn Arsenal interprets them...such as Cat Army v Magpies

35:00 James's if a tax avoidance scheme isn't captured by current HMRC rules and it appears legal, there is a GAAR that brings it in within anti avoidance rules and classed as tax evasion. They ask simple questions like are they doing that just to avoid tax (or in our world are they real transfer values?)
