    The fact that you're questioning his arm talent shows that you don't know anything about him and are just repeating crap you've heard from trolls. He is a little inconsistent with accuracy which will have to improve, but he has a cannon. He'll be 21 years old this season. The plan was for him to sit and develop from the start, it's not a shock, and not a knock against him. He can sit for 5 years and still be the age that Penix is now.

    Remember when Patrick Mahomes didn't start his rookie season. What a disappointment? This is one of those ego takes. You didn't like him coming out of the draft so now you're going to say he sucks until he wins a Lombardi

      Jj McCarthy is not 1/8 the qb mahomes is…… mahomes came out of a rough conference with a shitty team that had terrible defense… jj McArthy just came from the best team in college football that carried him….. so different it’s not even funny. And when you do the eyes test jj McCarthy can’t hold mahomes jock…. Even a rookie mahomes…. Just stop

      @@harleykateman9362 I think you are looking at NFL Patrick Mahomes and comparing him to a 20-year-old college kid. I am in no way taking anything away from Mahomes and what he is now, nor am I saying McCarthy is or ever will be close to Mahomes, but Texas Tech Mahomes was nothing close to what he is now. Mahomes played in a conference that didn't play defense, Mason Rudolph looked great against Big 12 defenses, whereas McCarthy play against multiple top 20 defenses. McCarthy is going to be a good NFL QB. Is he going to become the next Patrick Mahomes? Not likely, but he doesn't have to be. If you want to do the eye test, make sure it's college games you are watching.

    Transitioning from college to the NFL is incredibly challenging, and the statistical odds reflect this difficulty. While roughly half of first-round quarterbacks achieve significant success, the overall success rate for all drafted quarterbacks is much lower, around 25%. These numbers underscore that factors beyond college performance play a crucial role in a quarterback's NFL success. Adaptability, quality coaching, and the right team environment are essential for any young quarterback to thrive. JJ McCarthy, like many before him, will need time and the right support to realize his potential at the professional level. He is luckier than most with a solid starter in front of him and somewhat less expectation. He didn't start at Michigan either and matured in a backup role before he started. He started out with 50/50 odds and his situation could improve those a bit. Until then its wait and see...

    Most teams that draft QBs high don't plan to start them right away and they bring in a guy to bridge the gap between drafting the QB and that QB becoming a starter. The Patriots brought in Brisset this year for example and Maye was taking snaps behind Brisset and Zappe in OTAs and mini camp. Tua played behind Fitzpatrick his rookie year. These rookie QBs that teams hope will be the future of their franchise are not competing with the journeyman QB they may play behind as a rookie, they are competing with themselves to be ready. When McCarthy is ready, he will be the starter whether it's week one of 2024 or week one of 2025, it isn't because Sam Darnold is better it's because the Vikings feel that it's best for his development.

      @jodyfoster9278 3 месяца назад

      Hmmm what game was that? I guess maybe you are thinking of the Penn St game where he completed 7 of his 8 passes. There is also the misconception that they ran all these consecutive rushing plays, well there were pass plays in there, but they were nullified by penalty, so they didn't show up in the box score.

    He's in a far better situation than that of Drake Maye. He is not going to play this year and I highly doubt the channel with 182 subscribers will know more than the professional athletes that practice with him and those that aren't even on his team. Also had the 2nd highest recorded velocity out of any QB ever in the draft, but you're right he "doesn't have the arm of drake maye". Yall are a joke, stick to covering New England.

    Imagine not knowing what the f$%^ your talking about and posting your goofball opinions on the internet. JJ is doing just fine, hes a rookie, what happens to rookies that need to work on their Pro League gameplay and get put into the game to early. THEY FKN FAIL. Soooooo tired of seeing the non stop hate on JJ. he's a rookie let him put in the work. Do yourself a favor and start attending the public practices so you know what the hell your actually talking about. His arm is damn good, yes he needs to clean up some of his accuracy, but he's got the it factor.
