Your pitch of The Family Game made me want to read it and then I remembered I’ve already read it and gave it one star so very impressive book selling skills 😂😂😂
Oh my god I’m CACKLING💀😂😂😂😂😂😂
13:08 "I just wanna read about dragons and shit right now." Hardest relate of my life.
I also enjoyed The Family Game! It was bonkers, but I couldn’t put it down!
100% agree with you on Faebound, I had the exact same experience. Love the world but the characters and especially relationships fell really flat for me. Glad to hear that that seems to be the general consensus within the patreon as well :D
That makes me nervous as a character focused reader 😅 I've been putting off reading this book for that reason.
Totally agree about reading North Woods as a physical book. There are pictures and lyrical parts that don’t come across on audio.
WOO! Finally - someone else who really enjoyed These Immortal Longings. I really liked it - it's not perfect but I really look forward to the next book.
I really want to read faebound even more now
I loved the Family Game too!
I feel EXACTLY the same about Faebound. I gave it a 4 and enjoyed the storytelling and world-building. But I didn't really connect with the characters the way I wanted and I found some of the connections to be overly convenient. But I'm pretty sure I'll be pick up book 2 to at least give it a shot!
I liked Court of Wanderers more than Silver Under Nightfall but agree 100% that there was a pacing issue. I've read six other Rin Chupeco books now and I think they all kind of have that same pacing issue. But I just love all of their characters and the story itself
I'm also in a "dragons and shit" mood because I picked up Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier last month and now none of my other books are working for me, lol🌹
Family game was a great audiobook! I had so much fun listening to it- that krampus night scene was crazy!
🌹🌹🌹proud of you for leaving the blooper in!
🌹Immortal longings sequel is actually being published in september this year!!! I preordered the signed waterstones edition.
I'm so excited to hear you loved Immortal Longings!!!! I still need to read it but I'm so excited to!!!
I liked The Family Game too!
🌹 I totally get what you are saying with Court of Wanderers! It can really really disorienting when the pace of a book is off. Like you are trudging through and then all of the sudden things pick up and you can’t put it down. Like is this even the same book? It’s like whiplash
T. Kingfisher is a pen name created to create stories meant for younger readers.
The only thing I liked about North Woods was the ending, but it wasn't worth reading it to get to the explanation at the end for me 😬
I loved Star Ashes and the Start Cursed King and the novella. A third book is coming out in Nov I think.
Re: Night Swim by Megan Goldin. I loved The Escape Room from her too! It is anxiety inducing in the work place drama and cut throat corporate finance work
🌹I enjoyed the Family Game. On the flip side I was not a fan of Silver Under Nightfall, A House with Good Bones and Immortal Longings. I can’t wait until your next video😊
LOVED The Family Game and The Night Swim!!
I read Night Swim in 2022 and I loved it soo much! I gave it 5 ⭐️!! I still think about it.
I loved The Family Game!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 you know I always watch to the end :)
I still need to read The immortal longings!
Since The Night Swim was my recommendation I shall just say....."You're Welcome." Lol
I enjoyed The Family Game. It’s not my fav but the audiobook was fun. I’d recommend.
Kingfisher’s horror works great for me bc it is PG and I can’t handle regular horror books 😂 🌹
🌹🌹🌹 gurgling iced coffee 😂😂😂
I kinda hated The Family Game but only because I felt like it plagiarized _Ready Or Not_ (one of my fav Horror films)
I loveeeee Ready or Not! as soon as the synopsis of this book was mentioned I thought about it... It's the best Horror movie and incredibly underrated
@@JulianaJenkinsofbooksandmen it's so good! But it even 1:1 does the shoes scene, and same with the pit (except now it's a well)

Can you please name the translator when talking about translated books? It might be you didn't like the writing of The End of August because of the writing of the translator and not the author.
i mentioned that i do like the writing! it is odd, and very different than anything i've read before, but i do like it. i'm just not in a historical fantasy mood so hence the soft dnf.
i definitely did forget to mention the translators name - i will do my best to remember in the future though!!🫶🏼
I know the name is not Urine, but it sure sounds like Urine and it sent me 😂
I was thinking the same thing 😅
