I'm working on having another vlog video up this coming Friday Sept 1 at 7:00pm. Please be sure to turn on the notification so you don't miss it. See you then!!!
@deanabarnes2957 I'm so glad you enjoyed the nature walk! That squirrel was cute! They are almost domesticated around here. I hope I can capture the leaves changing as we approach Fall, just 24 days until Autumn!
@melodyshaw9329 Thank you for watching my video! I'm happy you enjoyed it, that means a lot to me. We will "catch up" again on Friday for the next video!
Thank you for taking us along with you to the food pantry. I think some are set up differently. You got some healthy items at your food pantry. Thank you for taking us along on your walk-so much lush green scenery.
@maryannrogers8675 I'm so happy you enjoy the walks! I think it's real pretty, too. My food pantry at first was pick up only then when the restrictions were lifted, it was so nice to go inside and shop. I enjoy being able to pick out the items I like, it's a real blessing!
Food pantry shopping has afforded me access to better quality and variety of foods. My co workers have lunch envy and always say your lunch always looks delicious. 😊
@couponingforshoes I'm so glad to hear that your food pantry is helpful in getting better foods with variety! That's great! I feel the same about my food pantry. I get to try food that I would not normally be able to purchase and it makes shopping there fun for me.
@lonapritchett7786 Thank you! I'm on the countdown to Fall, and hope we get a real nice leaf season to enjoy the colors. I hope your leaves in Georgia turn pretty for you to enjoy, too!
@noname7496 Thank you for watching my video all the way from Australia! I was also told the nuts could be a Marcona nut. Google says Marcona nuts are from Spain. I love trying things I would normally not buy for myself. When I first moved to my home, I did not have much variety to eat. I ate a lot of instant oatmeal and grits. Learning how to live without a stove was challenging but shopping at the food pantry has made that much easier!
i've taken a few chances washing dry clean only things. some made it and some did not. i do like the jacket. i am sure you will be able to patch the issues. you got some really good things from the pantry. i think a lot of salad makers do a rough chop and sometimes cores are in the salad. oh those cookies - i bet they are good. i have celiac so bakery goodies for me. i still get some gf cookies now and then. i'll be watching for you friday video, turned notification on. have a good night!
@karenjones1897 It's always a risk with Dry Clean only items, but what I did was wash it on delicate in a lingerie bag so it would have a chance. I don't even know where a local dry cleaner is around here! It surprises me that prepared salads have those pieces, but I bet they do it to sell by the weight. I used to bake gluten free items using coconut flour and very much enjoyed it. When I get a little oven, I will have to try that again. I think you can make your own cookies and even better than what the bakeries offer! And you know exactly what's in it!
@kathymccoy5935 I want to make another video for the home tour. I hope to start filming soon! I'm glad you like the dumpster finds, that's always fun to find something at the dump!
Nice video! I had Chipotle burbuon chicken my friend gave me thankful for it but not a fan favorite! Think the burbuon is what I didn't care for ! But always nice to try things you wouldn't have bought or chosen youself!
@tinaengle8989 Hi Tink! That's neat you got to try the Chipotle! I used to go there, but it's been years since I've been to one. That's what I like about gifted items, it may not be something I would buy, but I get to try it anyway. It's fun to do that!
Hi Sarah! I don’t like the lettuce spines, either. I find them bitter. I don’t get why cores end up in salad mixes. So gross. Where you live looks so beautiful! Take care! 👋🏻
@judygriffing1276 Hi Judy! I couldn't think of the name, yes it's the lettuce spine. Thank you, I love the woodsy areas. I am looking forward to the seasonal changes coming up and hope it looks pretty in the Fall. Have a wonderful day!
Another great video Sarah! You really get a lot of healthy food options at your food bank. Good for you! Looks like you live in a beautiful area. Are you able to grow any herbs and any vegetables where you live? I have a few different varieties of tomatoes (beef steak, cherry & grape tomatoes), green beans, snow peas, basil, parsley, & rosemary that I grow in containers. I also have mint and chives planted in the ground that come back each year. I'm in NW New Jersey. Really helps with the prices for tomatoes & fresh herbs being what they are nowadays. So satisfying to eat things I've grown myself with minimal effort. 😊
@christophervogt7456 Thank you! Yes, I love plants and have a few indoors and out! My herbs have not done as well as the other plants. I tried to root tarragon inside but no luck. Now I have sage and basil so we shall see (I got these handy dandy stackable planters from the thriftstore recently that I'm using indoors). I got massively bit working on the garden in the early daylight hours, but I try to do what I can. Your garden sounds beautiful, I love Rosemary and Mint!
A helpful hint that I got from my dietician about peanut butter is that it stores longer if stored upside down. However she didn't say how much longer. I love pecan pie. I was wondering on the cheese tray with the nuts do they have the nut listed in the ingredeems? Cause sometimes they have ingredients listed on those trays. With the sight of trees, changing means, i'm going to be stuck inside fairly soon, not looking forward to that.
@DisabledandPrepping I love the peanut butter storage idea! The pecan pie was beautiful, I had to say no to it, because I would eat it all! The ingredients are so small on the cheese trays but I will take a closer look next time for the name of the nut. I can use the magnifier on my phone to enlarge it!
I have found sometimes if that doesn't work with your phone magnifier. I sometimes will take a photo of it and then you can get it even larger. It was just an idea. And I definitely agree that writing is very small most of the time. Oh, and I love pecan pie so I probably would have eaten the full thing too.
@@DisabledandPrepping That's a great idea to take a photo and zoom in, good thinking! I have to be careful with sweets because it's easy for me to eat too much. All the holiday goodies are going to be available soon and trying to develop more discipline with sweet treats. I would like to start baking again because I can decide what's in the homemade desserts.
Question 🙋🏽♀️ Have you ever experienced anyone looking don on you for your frugal way of life? I had a co worker make a disheartening comment about how I don’t eat out and cook at home. 😮
@couponingforshoes Cooking at home is a great money-saver! There is an old saying: "What others think about you is none of your business!" I have experienced similar interactions where everyone went out to eat but I packed my lunch every day, so I stood out. I try to be allergic to debt as much as possible. Frugal living does not work for everyone. Some are forced into frugality, for others it's a choice and way of life. Some folks feel cheated out of life if they don't have what others have. For me it's a mindset like shopping at the thriftstore I make it fun, it's an adventure, what will I find, maybe silver on sale, maybe clothing, who knows but if the quality or joy is there, I just may find a treasure!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel absolutely! I don’t pay full price or brand new for anything other than undergarments/hygiene items. The people at the area thrift stores know me by name lol 😂
@couponingforshoes That is great! Keep up your frugal lifestyle and enjoy your thrift store treasures! In the next video there will be a haul from the thrift store. I hope you enjoy it!

The haul looked great! The leaves are beautiful there. I'm in NE Ga, and ours aren't that beautiful yet.

Hi you got some great food. I’m from Australia, just like macadamias 😅. Those nuts are something different though, they look interesting.
