This is episode 3 of the Grand Scandinavian Hiking & Backpacking Tour 2021. In this episode I go from the remote eastern part of Femundsmarka National Park and into the remote western part of Rogen Naturreservat/Nature Reserve in Sweden, where I sit out a storm on top of the amazing Skjebrofjellet in Rogen NR. From there I head back into Norway to Nedre Muggsjøen/Lower Mosquito Lake, name says it all! Stunning days spent in Norway and Sweden with as close to the midnight sun as you can get right below the arctic circle. Not a single person in sight anywhere, only angry birds!
Big Hug & Giant Smiles To You Norwegian Xplorer !!! "Thank You" for sharing yourself with all of us "LIVE". I feel very grateful & appreciative for your time given to us !!! :)
I’ve seen parts 1 n 2 n I thank u SO much for showing me around parts of this world I’ll never get to see. These rocky places would b difficult for me to maneuver. I’m amazed how u keep filming without constantly falling. Ur really amazing Jarl. The suns rays r especially precious for me. Thank u ! 🫵👍👏🙏🌧️☀️🏔️❤️‼️ TJ
These are gorgeous, Yarle. Thoroughly enjoying them. I appreciate all the work you put into filming these, editing them, putting soundtracks to them, the whole thing. Amazing work. Thank you so much.
Minnesota in the United States is called the land of 1000 lakes but it looks like Scandinavia has it beat. I can't believe how many lakes are visible in your video. Truly an epic journey. Thanks for sharing Jarl.
Cloudscapes and skies are as stunning as the views of mountains and lakes. At 42 minutes in, your tent is a tiny red dot in the distance! Hypnotic and wonderful.
The vastness of it all with the beauty of lakes, mountains and peaceful silence, exceptional glorious scenery. I'm loving the hike Jarl! The huts are cool almost all the comforts needed. Thanks
Jarl, I can't tell you how inspiring your journies are. There is little chance I will ever get to see the Swedish backcountry. I live many thousands of miles away here in Oregon. Thank you so much for taking us along for the beauty, the weather, the quaint shelters, the mosquitoes, and the noseeums! It's all part of the experience. I'm looking forward to the next chapter! :D ♥
So beautiful. As I've commented on the last video, I will be in Femundsmarka next week. I plan to hike from Elgå to Langen, so I will pass by Nedre Muggsjøen as well. It's good to see the wading part over the Mugga doesn't seem to be all that difficult, but I suspect the water will be a lot colder when I get there. :D
Very cool, Jarl! Mosquito Lake is the perfect name for that campsite location. Seems very “buggie” on this trail. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Doesn’t seem like a lot of wildlife though, sure would love to see more. Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you Susan, quite a lot of bugs indeed, but didnt see much wildlife on this middle part of the trip, it was very warm. I did have moose just outside my tent at night by Mosquito lake, but wasnt able to get my camera out for that.
Amazing brother!! I was surprised to see so much land with lakes and without trees. But thats what made it special in its own way. I sense the people of Scandinavia are more trusting than here in the states. The cabins were so cool! Would you consider sharing some details about your drinking water, meals, catch any fish? more more more, lol. Thanks Jarl!
Thank you Butch, I might share some more info about the gear at some point, been getting a lot of requests for that. Yes the Norwegians are indeed a very trusting people, they still mess up the nature though like everywhere else sadly, cutting down trees for firewood etc
I don´t remember if i commented on this before, but now that i have made plans for next years Femundsmarka Trip with packraft, a friend and going in from Sweden this movie was even better. I have now seen some of the waters i will fish, mountains to climb, and how nice it is from up there in the North. Thank you for making this amazing video! by far one of the best :) Happy New year, ps. i think i saw myselfe down there :P
Vinteren i Femundsmarka virker helt super! Absolutt noe jeg også kan tenke meg :)
hills, prairies, and meadows..... it sure is great trekking across when covered with snow ! ahhh...... that's how it should be ! ......able to camp right next to the lake...... here in the states, one has to camp 100 ft from the lake..... tsk, tsk, tsk
Hey Jarl, I have accidentally found your channel and I am a happy man.Your content is fantastic, true as a hiker, no fuss, no pointless crap Made in China gear review that will definitely end up in a landfill, no 4x4 mounting the grass while, “hiking/camping”, pure bliss, nature at its best and for that a big, “Thank you”, for your time and the effort you’ve put in. Who needs Netflix, ehh? Do you mind me asking what navigation tools do you use on your hikes and, what topo maps would you recommend for hiking in Norway and where to purchase them from? I use Alltrails Pro and upload all maps on my Garmin 66i yet I find a topo map will give more detailed information about any terrain than any other electronic devices. Kind regards, Florin Sirbu
Hey Florin, thanks for watching! I use Alltrails pro as well as normal maps. I create my own routes in alltrails and download them to have offline access.
@@NorwegianXplorer Thank you for taking time and getting back to me Jarl, I will definitely remember that for later this year, planning to hike in Norway in the summer, can’t wait. Regards, Florin
Thank you so much for bringing Norway into my living room! Like always...amazing scenes and a great job capturing the moments and letting us being part of it. Also, I have never seen Norway in summer, only the area from Kvisleflået to Fulufjället on ski's in February. So, thank you for sharing the summer beauty!
Thank you Andreas, there is a lot of variation, this area is lakes and forrests and high plains, later in the series there will be pinnacles, mountains and Glaciers, so many glaciers!

Great stuff, Jarl. Beautiful lake. Very cool to see the landscape reflected and the mist on the lake in the early morning.

@@NorwegianXplorer I would really love to visit. I'm sure I would fall in love, and then they wouldn't be able to get rid of me. lol :D
Great views. That sleeping mat "chaise lounge" has seen some amazing places :-)
It had indeed, lol, it is such a good extra pad to bring for that and to use as a pillow

Wonderful scenery and filming. Approx. how many KM do you hike a day?
Thanks Carol, I dont really remember, the days in Femundsmarka where not too long, maybe 10-15 km on trail

Very nice filming. Great job. What cameras? Seems like a GoPro on a gyro some of the fotage.
Thank you, yes this was a gopro hero 9 and an iphone 11 pro max
Great! Do you use anything besides head net to slow down the bugs??
Thank you, I treat my clothes with Permethrin and use a little bit of deet on my hands sometimes.

Hei! Hvilket kamera har du brukt? Veldig fine videoer! :)
Hei Ole Petter, dette er for det meste filmet med en gopro hero 9 eller 10, men jeg har senere oppgradert til et Sony A7mk4 som jeg bruker mest nå.
I don't want to be end...
