The emg guy was crying inside when Henning mentioned Devin because he is with fishman right now xD Kingdom is my favourite Devin session though. Such a great artist.
I was never an emg guy but on the generation x tour zakk wylde tone cut thru the mix and sounded awesome and the same for yngwie.. I have 2 schecters i just got(im up to 5 schecters) they have the emg retro active s in them 1 is hh and 1 is hss sounds goddam good
Actually a common plug on all makes of pickup would probably be good for the industry as I think we're all like you and not great with the electronics! Think we'd be more inclined to swap pups if it was easy.
I've been thinking about starting to connect all of my guitar electronics to plugs creating a system where I have different switching and pot combinations I can easily combine with any humbucker I want to try in that guitar. It would mae swapping pickups from one guitar to another easier but since I have no need for doing that it's not worth the effort.
I was tempted to add connectors aswell, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't be bothered, I regret it now though since I want out change out the pickups
How do you make them sound like you want? Is there an app to setup them? I can't figure out anything but the usual passive/active eq. Or at the end the only advantage is you can use any cable length? That's... limited, at least.
NOBODY!! has ever! made a youtube vid so we can listen to the sound of EMG RA-2 Pro Retro Active Strat-style single picks all the way each pick up... i want to hear these !! asap is that possible? can you guys make one please/? and thanks/
HENNING - you can make any guitar pickup play with this system, all my pickups have these syle of quick connector installed. drop me a message and maybe we can talk about setting up a guitar with a quick swap system :)
Hello all. No disrespect meant, just new to this channel. Does this interviewer play a character? Being over the top obnoxious to the person he is interviewing? It’s a shame, as there is some great information here. Just difficult to watch.
Hmmm. Now I am a bit dissapointed. You always say - and there you are right - be honest to the audience. You tell here the story from changing the pickups in your HB SC 550 and it sounded the same to you. I saw the original video once where you played the original guitar and the guitar with the changed pickups. Your conclusion was completly different. The pickups shifted the guitar to a new level. What's right now? By the way: Via youtube I wasn't able to hear a difference. But I thought, ok, I'm a poor boy, a hobby player and not the giant Henning. Henning hears such things, I am not. Hmmmm. As I said: A bit disappointed.
What? I said it shifted it to a new level? No way... the difference was very very small and as far as I recall I said that you can easily leave the stock pickups in there and it's all good... maybe I said something different, but I don't think so. I definitely didn't pretend the pickups made a huge difference because they didn't...
Thank you for your reply. I have to apologize. After your reply I watched the Rübezahl-Video again. There you said: „Again, this will not change your guitar from crap to insane. It's gonna change it from pretty damn good for the price to …. other companies with guitars for under 1000 will have a hard time to compete with this.“ I thought, this is pretty a new level. But you say at another point, that the Rübezahl „will bring 10%.“ Ok, 10% more sounds not so big (that what she says ;-) So you are right. Another point to this new video: You say that the luthier knows the guitar best and chooses the optimal pickup. I think you are right, when it comes to your Framus Masterbuild. But I think, when it comes to the el cheapo guitar, the luthier has nothing (ok, let's say less) to say and the businessmann rules. Isn't there any cheaper pickup out there I can take ? So I think that in the lower price range some new pickups may bring some benefint. My Cort, which I play at Rock Smith in the Eb Dropped Db songs has EMG pickups I build in and „in my head“ it rocks ;-)(You mentioned the mojo sometimes too ;-) Another thing: I replaced for Standard E my Epiphone Black Beauty (with the 3Humbuckers) by a Hagstrom Northen Swede. I saw you in a video from Namm with a Hagstrom. I wasn't able to see, if it's the expensive Northen model oder the cheaper China model. I think, it's great for the money. What do you think? Bye, Markus
In short all EMG active doesn't care about the guitar wood. The tonewood which came from the guitar maker is tailored/eliminated by EMG electronics. Thanks but no thanks.
How old the strings are will affect more the tone than the type of wood the guitar is made of. Two guitars, constructed exactly the same, with same woods, and hardware, but they have different age strings, there's no way they will sound the same.
I was never an EMG guy until I got a set of the Retroactive fat 55s.. I Love them

Please, dear God in Heaven, yes, paying a guy to do it is expensive for us po' folk!
You said you have no guitar with emgs. Whats about the ibanez fanned fret? Or is this one lend?
Remember this: There are EMG pickups, and all others!
How do you make them sound like you want? Is there an app to setup them? I can't figure out anything but the usual passive/active eq.

Seriously! What gives?
i thought i was the only one who smelled pickups!
10:30 Well, Seymour Duncan did, and you know it! :P
emg guy looked like he wanted to bring you back to his hotel XD
Active 70 7 in my Schecter. Hmmm Dark ,lack of gain and mid range . I crying back even my 707 .
I do wish we could hear the Stratocaster retroactives I don't want to drop 250$ without hearing them.
Emg is the best.

psssht, maybe he gets the companies to do that for us!
"metal players generally don't want a lot of mids"
what?
Most metal bands scoop the mids
If you're early Metallica, then there's no such thing as mids in your tone haha.
Disagree, mids are lyfe, it's all about the mids!!!
Henning, grate video!!
you don't know Nobels pedal? blasphemy! LOL
AND he's german !!!!
...let your interview objects finish their sentences.

Es nervt
Es?
@@EytschPi42 Die Fragen haben immer etwas Provokantes von EP! Das kann man sich nicht anhören. Den Interviewpartner nervt es ebenfalls.

This is wrong and incredibly stupid information to parrot.
So why does my basswood guitar sound different to my mahogany? Both have 81 in the bridge.
@@mr.phil.a your basswood is a bolt on and the mahogany is a set thru I take it? Are they both the same scale?

Fire that interview guy, how annoying can you get??? I love EMG pups but this guy needs a new job. I’m talking about guy in blue shirt.
