Lovely build, and very comprehensive breakdown! The Volkite weapons are absolutely the best looking weapon in 40k, so taking every possible one was absolutely the right call I’d say: No to the Dozer Blade, looks much sleeker without it. Option 5 for the searchlight, atop the Autocannon Option 3 for the Hunter/Killer missile looks great, but would require extra care not to break during painting/play.
Put the Dozer Blade on it. The Kratos has a unique dozer blade that looks MUCH better than the tiny spindly ones that come with the Rhino and Sicaran kits. You won't find it on any other vehicles, so you should use it if you've got it.
A good brand of sprue nippers is either Mr. Hobby or Xuron, the God Hand nippers are rather expensive and delicate, they're only used for removing the small nub of plastic *after* you clipped the part off the runner. Be very careful with those!!
@@briarsandbantams I love the Yasuri file I got with mine and want another one, perfect for leveling out and trueing up plastic parts on vintage model kits and the nippers do a fine job.
I don't know about god hands clipper, I also got Tamiya ones and they were great but expensive enough. However, I have recently bought AK Interactive clippers, I think they only have 1 model. They are great. Way above Citadel, Army Painter or any 10/15 bucks clippers. They are really efficient, leave no marks on the miniature, but they cost 10 bucks. That's the most cost efficient clippers I have ever seen. Of course they may not be as awesome as Godhands, Tamiya and other very expensive clippers, but for 10 bucks I was quite impressed. They are also as sturdy as other good brands (and way better than Citadel ones that dies in 10 months of intensive use).

Beautifull looking tank. Volkite is the way to go. With all the Volkite should go Night Lords. Don’t put on the dozer blade. But I would shave off the mounting nubs for the dozer it would be nice clean look.
Considering the Vulkite weapons, I think the green and heraldry of the Salamanders would be quite nice. It isn't like they are the only chapter known for it, but they certainly love to use them.
Real Tamiya nippers will last 3-5 years doing 50 kits a year, they are the best bang for the buck for professional nippers. God hand are best for non vehicle kits since they are fragile, they excellent at gunpla kits.
@@SnakeWorksStudio Unless you do crazy things with it, no :D Tungsten carbide is more like glass than steel, very tough and hard, but not flexible - if you do invest the energy to deform it, it breaks instead of taking a bend. If you look at the blade you can see the edge line of carbide baked onto the regular steel body - the idea is better edge retention if you're cutting abrasive materials that mess up a steel blade.
Best thing I’ve ever found for loose joints in 40k kits is to take little bits of paper towel and add them where they won’t be seen. For example, on Predator turrets, inside the pivot parts where the autocannon or twin lascannon bit sits in the turret. IE basically where the pegs fit into the holes, just put a scrap of paper towel in first. A small scrap or two of paper towel seems to provide enough friction to hold the parts in place while not interfering with moving them, or be too thick to prevent assembly.
@@SnakeWorksStudio Nope. If you’re doing this with a peg in hole situation, the paper towel is trapped by the peg inside the hole and can’t move around or get free, so no need to glue it.
@@SnakeWorksStudio If you were instead placing it between the butt of the gun and the turret, I might glue it there since moving the gun up and down could eventually work the paper towel out of position. I think most 40k kits with moving joins use pegs with holes, so it’s been easiest for me to just put the paper towel bits in the holes. Another option I’ve thought of but haven’t tried is that I’ve seen products for historical modelers that’s used to create the non-skid surfaces on military vehicles like tanks. You seem to paint it on and it creates what looks like a fine grit surface, like sandpaper. I’ve wondered if coating the sides of a moving join with that would produce enough friction to keep things in place, but haven’t gotten around to trying it out.
Thanks for this video! I managed to build one for my Imperial Fists, but I think you sold me on a volkite one for my future Death Guard! godhands are quite possibly the best. but they are quite expensive and delicate but they slide through most stuff like butter. just got to be careful with the thicker sprues. I prefer them. There are knock off godhands also that are pretty close to the originals and about half the price.
@@SnakeWorksStudio Godhand nippers are considered delicate to use because their blades are thin and fragile to achieve sharpness and clean cutting. It's the tempering of the blade, which makes them very sharp but with the possibility of being a bit weaker. As long as your careful and take care of them, they will last for a good long time.
