Why Anish Kapoor is banned from world's pinkest paint

- I'm sharing the world's pinkest pink with everyone except Anish Kapoor.
Hi Everyone, I've just released my own brand of pink paint, ‘PINK’, it's the world’s pinkest pigment. PINK is available from:www.culturehustle.com to everyone but Anish Kapoor.
Artist Anish Kapoor famously acquired exclusive rights to use the world’s blackest black in his art. Developed by NanoSystems, ‘Vantablack’ is composed of a series of microscopic vertical tubes. When light strikes Vantablack, it is continually deflected between the tubes, becoming trapped. The pigment is currently the blackest substance known - so dark that it absorbs 99.96 per cent of light.
Although originally developed for military and astronomic purposes, NanoSystems subsequently confirmed that Kapoor alone had been authorised to use the pigment for artistic purposes. And as Jonathan Jones began when he wrote on the subject for The Guardian, “Colour is precious”.
I don't think it's really very fair! We all remember kids at school who wouldn’t share their colouring pencils, but then they ended up on their own with no friends. It’s cool, Anish can have his black. But the rest of us will be playing with the rainbow!
PINK is a highly reflective and rich powdered paint pigment, which repels light to effect a powerful fluorescence. I really hope to make it available to as many painters as possible.
Purchasers of PINK will be required to make a legal declaration during the online checkout process though, confirming that: “you are not Anish Kapoor, you are in no way affiliated to Anish Kapoor, you are not purchasing this item on behalf of Anish Kapoor or an associate of Anish Kapoor. To the best of your knowledge, information and belief this paint will not make its way into that hands of Anish Kapoor.”
If you order some from culturehustle.com I hope you love it. And please if you get a chance tell @anishkapoor_art to #ShareTheBlack
Thank you!
Stuart x
The amount of shade exchanged exceeds even that of Vantablack.
silvari It's nor longer the blackest though so jokes in that selfish d.
There’s some shade going on in Stuart’s Semple’s marketing and I’m here for all of it, every single bit. Anish should be ashamed of himself.
You, sir, are the people's color champion!
Art Hero!!!
YES.
I like how I looked up Anish Kapoor and this came up.
Same.
Same lol
Same thing
What about creating something with Vantablack and argue it's NOT art ?
the whole situation is art in itself, so i think that's conceptually impossible.
Suri ViruS the problem lies in the fact that this greedy wannabe artist is willingly excluding people from using a tool of artistic expression. It is not about creating something alone. It’s about the fact that you are stripping away the right for all people on earth except one person to use a material which is not only insulting to the art community but also looks extremly selfish and entitled. Exclusion is a shitty thing to do and while it isn’t illegal it still is showing something only a neanderthal with a very low amount of intelligence would do cause it is so clearly unfair and stupid.
@@Encentix you do realize why he did it right? Anish Kapoor is the only person allowed to use vantablack in his art. This was to say fuck you snob.
They only allowed him to use it because he's got money. I bet you're the person who ruined the fun and gave Anish the pinkest pink.
@@deadlyfarriswheel read that again. I think you missed the point.
@@kaustavmani yeah I did I was probably half asleep when I read that the first time.
Thanks for telling me kindly.
this feud is so petty i love it
petty?.. missing the point
lmfao this gay artist is the pettiest thing ever
I dont think stuart is he is giving anish kappor his own medicine.
@@apesyb9812 you commenting here is also petty then. Somethings can be petty for one and important for other. But I guess you have lower level of EQ to understand it brat.
@@jahnvisingh7545 EQ ? Equalization Level ?!.
I'm teaching my class about light, reflection, refraction and colours in science class and I've ordered this pink colour to show them how some colours can't be view on a monitor. Looking forward to seeing how it looks. I've also waiting for the black 3.0, but I won't get that until we're way past learning about light and colours, but I think they'll be excited to seeing that to when it arrives :)
I know this was two years ago but please, if you can recall, how did it go?! 😃 Did they like it? Was it fun?
3years later, pls , do share😊
@@apple-macaron2576 I don't think I got the colors until we were finished with the theme of "light, reflection, refraction and colours", but when I got it I took it to school and showed it during recess to some pupils that were curious and I remember they found it interesting. They got to paint with the colors, and I still have the pictures they painted for me :)
@@jenspettersen7837 that’s so sweet :) I’m sure you’re an amazing teacher, as a student I would love to have a teacher like you
It's like imagine if someone made a discovery or created something and kept it to themselves. That wouldn't do any good, wheel, computers, arts, electrical components all of combined together puts us here rn. If not for these a huge range of contributions who knows what the world would have been.
true, i agree. and also anish kapoor was being a child about it, he put the pinkest pink on his middle finger and posted it
Such a brilliant idea, looking forward to seeing what artwork you create with his black.
The point is most pf us understand vantablack isnt a pigment or a paint. Its use is mostly for scientific purposes. I think it can be pretty toxic too? The point is not to sell to everyone. The thing it, if this substance is not suited for art, then why you give it to an artist?? Just because he is popular? Because he has millions of $ ?
Then why not give it to every artis who has that kind of money ?
Thats the thing.
Why -->exclusive
It is ALSO used in his paintings... so that's one reason..
Do you need a hug?
I m your 96th like. Tho I pref 69.
It's bizarre that only one person can use a color...
Its toxic so he can't share it. Tsk tsk
@@DisneyFan1 But he uses the paint on his artwork, which is shown in galleries where people can smell the toxic material? Okay I guess lol
Its because hes a millionaire aswell
@@melloz-wi8jz Im pretty sure they cover it up in a way or something thats safe to look at. And, some people might use it in toxic ways. Also, he's rich. The scientists needed the money to continue on, so they let the dude have the black.
100% support. Anish Kapoor is insulting India on a daily basis by giving Indian names to his scatological sculptures and artwork for example Svayanbhu. Also his work called Dissension is a flushing reference.
Someone who excerts so much feces possibly has flushing in their mind a lot so no surprises there
This is so pure
I learned about you by looking for the best glow in the dark. I'm not an artist like you (just creative making different things) but I understand your frustration. I think you have awesome products. I have real respect for you and your support of free access to all colors for all artists. Much continued success to you and your team.
I understand that if you invest money into developing a colour you would like to cover the cost/ make some money out of it... but I think a real artist would want the colour available to everyone, because the point of art is that it brings joy, curiosity and love to everyone! It should not be restricted to a select few. Good on you for developing the pinkest pink and making it available to everyone. I am not a professional artist, I just love to paint and I cannot wait to experiment with it ❤️❤️❤️
Can you make the brightest white?
Its whitest white
Enter the newest Lit duo of pigments from Stuart
Discord light already took that spot
@@divinity2306 lmao
@@prashikjadhav3954 theres always that one person....lol
I heard about this. Funny to see the actual video. Sorry that he got a hold of it though..
Dude, I'm gonna get some of this and paint my Slaanesh warhammer minis with it. Your paints are beautiful.
he’s like a color superhero for the artists
Honestly, why would Anish Kapoor not let artists use the black that would be a GREAT in abstract art
Hi, Stuart. I am really interested about this pink pigment. Just wandering if this paint can be rewet after it dried in a pan? And what kind of binder/median does it mixed well with?
Can I use it as eyeshadow?
Makeup is art lol
asookah that's not what they asked
I think it's possible that you can just grab some carbon nano tube dust and dust it under your eye to make the darkest eyeshadow
Darwinism at work, ladies and gentlemen.
I don't recommend using a pigment that's not eye or skin tested, on your face. Lol
*Vantablack.*
Glad there's people like you who make the world a better place
You are right 💜
you are awesome on so many levels!!
You know what, I can respect that and I admire your dedication to art… and taking down that Kapoor down a peg or four.
Cheers!
We are told by Tom Scott that Pinkest Pink can not truly be conveyed over most screens or standard video. Is this due to RGB and bit depth only or can CMY represent it? I have no use for pink anything but even over Scott's video hints of the intensity of PP was sneaking through, like radioactive Pepto-Bismol. Unlike regular pink, which gets on my nerves, PP looks comforting and soothing. I will be able to resume my frivilous spending habits June and look forward to buying a little of everything you have invented. That blue looks very soothing as well. I love your dedication to the science.
Any "artist" that doesn't create a better world is NOT really an artist.
i want to dye my hair with this is it possible somehow
Lauchlan Cameron ur a perfect example of why ventablack use is restricted
iFornix i am okay w this
are you serious rn
I bought the paint, it's really great !
Next we need the greyest grey matt
Omg my eyes started to hurt when he showed a pic of the powder
Question Mr Semple, how good is this pink for painting fabric like linen or satin? See I don't paint but I do sew costumes and I want to know how good this could be used in cosplay uses. Please reply when you get a chance. And I swear on my Oath as a Knight Hospitaler that the joker called Anish will NEVER get it from me!!! Number Sign Share the Black forever!!!!!
Sharing is caring! Lol You are super cute! Thank you for the YK Blue
Thank you!
So when you actually listen to kapoors lectures he explains how important that color is to his next project. He put millions into it and he kinda fucked that up. 🤷♂️
If the world was full with people like him, we wouldn't grow the way we did.
Can you use this as eye shadow?
so this is why it says that on their website lol, always wondered why it was saying that
Can people from Germany buy the colors just from your homepage or do you have a cooperationpartner in Germany with an another onlinestore?
+Unknown Xy hi the best place to get it from is culturehustle.com sadly we don't have a German stockist
The people’s artist!
Love your accent 😻
If you ever do make a super black black, call it the Darkest Dark
Better if he names it. "non-anish"
🤣🤣🤣🤣You’re the best. I heard about you, and I’m all for this.
Legend ❤️
Please...sincerely A.K.
so it cost you exactly £3.99 to make
Can I please mix this with hair conditioner and dye my hair with it?!?
😭 i rlly don’t think that’s safe lmao
I love him
Poor Kapoor. God Save the Queen.
So is it the pinkest or brightest pink? And how do we know this? I'd gladly buy some and shame that dude to share his black. Just want to know the deets on this pink, like wavelength wise or some other measure
So are you going to sue him?
When you make toxic paints EXCLUSIVE FOR A RICH HOMIE.
.
.
.
Me: Hmmm, rich n exclusive way to die.
Although it is a bit sad that he has exclusive to anish kapoor vantablack is one of the most expensive and impractical materials to just make to just simply give this material out to anyone who wants it would cost billions of dollars
Anish has been to this video 18 times! Shame on you, Anish.
Actually it’s more than the female part it’s also the male part and he does installation art too
Nice
nice comeback
I like venta black
Ban Anish Kapoor from every color until he shares vantablack
Could make slime out of the pink is pink
Lawsuit bruv
let's paint the bean in this colour
pink time
Love and Respect, I think you should continue your #sharetheblack movement and at the same time work on a "blacker than the blackest black" paint and also not share the with Anish lol. LiT brought me here, while experiencing a bright glow in the dark stuffed animal that lights up my path as i walk in darkness, wanting to make more bright things for free energy purposes. Look at me sharing ideas, its as if im trying to make the world a better place. Maybe Anish could follow along and help make the world a more beautiful place for all. Some people just need to let go of selfish materialistic behavior and let the evolution of love grow. Peace!
❤
I wont buy you pink but I totally support you 💪💪💪
Banish Kapoor
#sharetheblack
He's not sharing with us so we won't share with him. Seems fare to me!
There is a Japanese black colour which is better than what Kapoor has made. Musou black! Please try it. :)
Here from superraedizzle 😳👁
Same lol
Hello.
Love this! 😂
#blackpaintmatters
After learning how selfish Anish Kapoor is with our black (not his) I'm perfectly okay with banning Anish Kapoor from anything that he might one day decide to lock from others.
Same with the the second blackest black in the world
I can’t believe this happened 4 years ago and I only saw it now-
*Anish Kapoor left the chat*
sad that vanta black is not consumer friendly yet would be epic to paint my room in a studio black level and to have light that won't bounce of walls is ideal for colour correction on professional it's also a shame that the 150ml bottles are not big enough can't you make a big paint can full of this because peaple would use this for making studios or cinema black room
Sorry he got a hold of it
This is pure
i got a BLACKPINK ad while watching this lol
Awesome!!! Anish Kapoor really disappointed me with his exclusive rights bullshit.
What ever happened to Anish Kapoor using your colour? Please tell me some legal action came his way.... I love how no one can legally use his colour but the second that happens to him he breaks the law and uses it anyways...
Do you think I can use this colour to make soap?
And I love the anti anish 😂😂😂
Make the whitest white
mans gon give anish the pink drugs cause ima webel
Did he mention why? He might be doing that because of the ingredients that made it might be top secret or something. Don't like the fact that he took a photo of himself cursing your pigment, quite childish to me I'll admit.
The world's blackest black *chess pieces* should, in fact, go to *Anish Giri* .😂😂😂😂
omg here from tik rok
Ok the argument is that artist can afford it while it is a dangerous lap grown sort of black it’s not even paint it’s a chemical that’s is dangerous and he owns the right to use it because he has money to use it to used the equipment
Oh no, Anish Kapoor can't use this pink? That's so sad, Alexa play despacito.
once again the only color that matters in the crayon box... is black
Of course it looks pink when you have no idea what white balance is....
thats neon pink dude, it's not new
i don't think you know much about pigments and paints my friend
you haven’t seen it in person
When NEWBIES JOIN THE GROUP. :)
i really think this is *REALLY* rude. its really dangerous thats why he got special access in a safe condition.
Then why put it in art and show that in gallery.
Than why give it to an artist and let said artist expose the paintings to the plastic?
"We made the world's most powerful weapon and were giving it to this specific museum"
Then again who needs a 99% black anyway its probably blacker than space lol
Long short, Anish Kapoor is unfairly lucky (hoki). That's why we hate him (envy).
And btw, would like to have Cyanest, Magentaest, Yellowest, and Blackest (something else that the f proprietary Vantablack) for printer.
1:04 what? So he can sue me e.g. if I access Vantablack on my sellable Print? D'fk!
1:15 #sharetheblack !!! I hate Proprietarism. Adding Anish Kapoor to Kepahitan (Bitterness, a.k.a. perma-ban or hateness prime)
Lol he still got it tho
Milan de Moor Yeah by stealing it like a beggar on the street.
