Its become too expensive , the increase in prices on non exclusive pops . I've been collecting since 2021 but at this point I'm starting to sell my collection now.
@@parksandpops that's because your yt channel is based on funko pops, ofc you're gonna promote it and defend it. Knowing how many funko pops u got 💀 u gotta do what u gotta do
High price? what on earth are you talking about you do realize average funko pops are not very expensive. If you think $10 is expensive for a toy, then you need get a job.
Modern pops in retailers is dead that’s the truth. No value there over production just like 90’s comics or 90’s sports. However I focused on collecting pops that actually have value because of scarcity. If u eBay a pop and there’s 200+ listings then that’s a bad sign but u look at something random like pop: scout #247 from the game like it’s a rare pop because there’s not many out there so naturally it Carry a premium (even if ppg is 10$) which goes to show ppg is not a tell all
I agree in a way that modern pops unfortunately have become over produced which is why I stray away from buying them. I also collect mostly older exclusives and vaulted pops as well.
So I have a question for you, let’s say the hobby does die out. Where will the LE500 and under pieces be at value wise? Do you think they’d go from $2k+ down to 10 bucks ?
Definitely not… lol an LE500 is still an LE500, remember all fandoms have die hard collectors. There are people that don’t collect funko that go for limited edition pieces like that. Also the only way a grail like that will ever get sold for less is if the seller wants to, and if you met most of the collectors that collect those pieces those mega grails are staying in the thousands. There are too many collectors for those pieces to go down that much.
I slowed down a couple years ago and got rid of some, I now only get the ones I really want. Space is an issue as well it just got too much. They need to slow down and stop pumping out so many so quick. They were just using the same mold for some with very little difference, they got lazy. Less is more. Money is also not as ready available as it once was. They are still fun tho
Completely understandable, and I agree with a lot of points you make. At least you found a healthy way to stay in the community and that's all that matters.
True I mostly collect The Crow Funko stuff and was finally happy that after many years a new wave of Crow Funko pops were on the way. I noticed right away the new Crow pop uses model parts from The Dark Knight Joker, Corpse Bride Victor and the owl from Harry Potter.
It's not dead, but I feel like they have flooded the market so its taken a bit of a hit. The cost is also starting to be come a little prohibitive. Regardless, still love em' Have an awesome day!💥From Fun At Home (Hot Wheels, Lego, Cards, Stamps & collectables)👍
I'm curious, what motivates you to collect and promote the Funko brand so intensely? Is it the accomplishment of maintaining the collection, having the rare ones.. something else?
Thats an interesting take on the market going back to normal after the pandemic. I hadnt thought about that but you can see that in the sports cards, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh communities as well. I want to see chainsaw man and king of the hill lines.
Exactly people forget that the pandemic was an extremely inflated time for collectibles. The only concern that I haven’t seen before the pandemic was the overwhelming amount of pops in discount stores, but like I said other collectibles are doing it too. Production should ramp down, especially because we forget that Funko has contracts and obligations to print a certain amount of pops before they announced they will become leaner. Hopefully we can start seeing the ramp down this year but we will see.
I just started collecting Pops. For now, I am trying to get all the Lord of the Rings Pops ^^ I think as long as you like the franchise your Pops are from, it is not really important if the collecting-hobby or Funko "dies" a bit, because it will always look cool to you and you will always have a place for them in one way or another :D
That’s it I’m selling my collection and only keeping what I like and that’s only WWE, MLB, NBA, NFL, BOXING, ROCKY , KARATE KID, SIMPSONS, MOTU, TMNT, THUNDERCATS, B RABBIT, SNOOP DOGG, SNOOPY THE DOG and the rest of the PEANUTS, CHAVO, CHAPULIN, MARVEL, DISNEY, STAR WARS, POP RIDES, POP JUMBOS, US PRESIDENTS, ROYAL FAMILY, and all the MIKEs - JORDAN, TYSON, JACKSON , ACSHUN 😮
I see a lot of doomsday sentiment from “collectors”. These are people who buy Funko BECAUSE it’s Funko. It’s never because it’s fun or it’s their favorite show, it’s because it has a monetary value and they want to complete sets, even if it doesn’t matter to them. Everyone else will continue on. For now.
My brother in law works for Funko HQ out in Seattle. He tells me that the Funko higher up's are indeed cutting back production of all funko's big time. They're investing heavily into the Bitty Pop line. Also there is currently several lanfill's just packed full of random lines of Funko Pop's. Ask yourself, Why is this happening. They do not sell like they used to and stores now do not want nearly as much because they take up way to much space. Sorry my dude but yes they are dying. Hey this coming from a former huge collector of all things Funko Pop.
Just because production is cutting back and becoming leaner does not mean the collectability and community of pops is going anywhere. If anything funko will sell direct to consumer most of the time and that's not a problem for most collectors.
They over produce way too many models and short change some of the ones people want the most. There are many lines that aren't out yet that people look forward to, but they produce lines that people don't want. It's ignorant to say they are dying off though.
I think they are cool, however its not like an action figure where you take it out of the box and play with it. With POP's you literally just keep them in their packaging and display them. Like you don't even take them out of the box. Even Marvel statues and such, of characters you take out of the package and display it in your room/house. So there is no functionality other than making a big wall of them and looking at them. Is it cool, I guess, but there is nothing else that you do with them other than look at them.
So the thing with just hunting at five below is most of the pops are the same. However I do mix In the five below in my other funko pop hunts I post. Highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t done so already.

That’s fine we all have reasons and pops getting more expensive is definitely a good one.
I think funko has a problem of making too many pops of a figure that not many people where interested.
Yeah, but they also overproduce well loved characters as well. There just needs to be a balance.
Naw I feel like so many people are interested in them and some just got diff demand
Tbo I think it’s dumb to buy them for such a high price
Everyone has their own opinions on funko pop values and how much to pay but at the end of the day it's a supply and demand market.

Funko Pops are the best collectible hands down

Yeah I agree it’s take a bit of hit but again not dead like you said. Everything that involves extra spending has gone down a bit.
@@parksandpops True that.
It’s unaliving it’s self no way they’re bouncing back.
I've just started collecting 😂
Nothing wrong with that just remember collect what you love and it doesn’t matter what other people say
Started 3 days ago haha
I'm curious, what motivates you to collect and promote the Funko brand so intensely? Is it the accomplishment of maintaining the collection, having the rare ones.. something else?
I like the product, it’s an affordable collectible that holds some value, they are easily displayable.
I'm sorta slowing down on my Funko Pop Collections nowadays, mostly I wait for new Disney Stitch and new Pokemon Funko Pops to come out then
dang thats exactly what I collect to
Exactly collect what you love no problem on slowing down and getting what you really want.

Yeah definitely a bad situation with the common market of pops but everything else I think is pretty stable in my honest opinion.
Ill keep buying ones i like. I loke the new ones are looking great. New Deadpool is so cool.
Yep that’s the way to do it

I didn't see the George Clinton Funko in your collection...
I do not have him in my collection

I enjoy the displaying aspect of them don’t really care to mess with them
So for me they are perfect
They have saturated the market with them much like what marvel did to comics back in the 90's and we all know how that went.
I understand but the good thing is older pops are still doing well and again the market is just weird right now
@@parksandpops I agree👍
Can you make a full video hunting at five below
So the thing with just hunting at five below is most of the pops are the same. However I do mix In the five below in my other funko pop hunts I post. Highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t done so already.
Funko is dying, I can't get rid of any of my pops and there all older pops (pre 2015) that were pretty desirable not to long ago.
Maybe some of those pops just don’t have strong fandoms like before but older pops with people still interested do still sell well
Dude. I have a Batman #01 it was at one time over 300.00 now, it’s like 30
I stopped collecting Funko cause take too much space and I just stopped caring.... Since then I started collecting sports cards.
That’s awesome nothing wrong with changing focus in your collection
