Finally, I found someone building a kennel without any fancy tools. Now I'm confident that I can do mine for just using the basic power tools that every DIYer has. Thank you for sharing. Canadian?
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it 🙌 and this was actually my first time ever building a dog Kennel... so if I can do it, you can to!!! Trust the process 💯 and I’m from Texas 🤠
I love this build. I have two female XL bully’s that I want to build one for. For video quality purpose, the voiceover was more quiet than the music, so I kept having to adjust my volume so my ears weren’t taking a beating, lol!!! Iron sharpening iron, stay blessed from Pastor E in Az.
Thank you soo much for the feedback brother, I really appreciate it! 🙌 and I’ll definitely be fixing the audio for my upcoming videos 💯 haha God bless! 🙏
Seems like an ignorant stance. Dogs love crate training since they're denning animals, like wolves. The bars are aesthetic. It could just as easily have been wire mesh. You think a dog gives a shit about whether their den looks like a prison or a piece of furniture? This is an awesome dual purpose item and I'll be making my own version for my GSD.
I love the humility confessing your pocket hole mistake. Not sure if you have the Kreg drill bit but it comes with an adjustable stop collar that prevents you from drilling too far. Nice video man keep it up.
@@corrigeuxwoodshop3308 actually the pocket holes are still incorrect, you need to set your depth on your drill bit but you also have to set up the jig correctly for the thickness of your materials. those holse shouldnt be visible at all on your end grain. The design behind the jig is correct angle and depth so that your joint has maximum strength. Great video, hope the tip helps. Keep up the good work!!
Great video. Novice here. I am going to attempt a large crate. I'm looking at about 5 ft long, for one large dog and no divider. I would obviously just have one door, but will this design support not having a divider in the middle?
By far the easiest and best video I have seen. You made it look easy! I have a lab and husky! I want to build this and after watching your video I think I can lol! I’m the girl with basic tools lol … I hope this one would be big enough for them!

But I’m not sure what plywood to get for the kennel they have so many brands and grades??? Thank you for not going overboard with the crazy expensive tool! Sweet and simple it’s a nice change for once! Thanks✌️
What did you use to fasten all the walls together? Also, how is it fastened to the base and top? Did you just screw straight in, or did you hide the screws?
WOW really nice work ! I wanna build something like this for my 2 dogs since I live in an apartment and wanted to know about how much would it cost total to make a kennel like this ? Thank you !
Hey Claudia 👋 Thank you so much for the feedback! I don’t remember exactly how much materials were total but I’m going to say around $300- $400... now keep in mind, that was a few months back, the price of wood has gone up by a lot so I wouldn’t know exactly how much it’ll cost you today. This was my first time building a Dog Kennel, I definitely encourage you to give it a shot! It’s totally worth it 🙌

I drilled the holes 1inch deep on both bottom and top 1x4s 👍 you can do whatever depth you’d like honestly, just don’t go past 1inch cause then it gets tougher to get that rebar in
I apologize for the late response. Here are the measurements...Height: 31in and length: 19in... I would recommend to measure the door spaces till the very end to get the exact dimensions, also cut about 1/4in off the door measurements for spacing. Thanks for reaching out 🙌
I actually used a “18 gauge brad nailer” to connect the top, it worked great! Of course there’s other ways you can do this process but this way seemed to be a lot easier 👍

Great video. I know this is a year old and I hope you've fixed this issue. But if not, please rework the volume balancing. Your voice is super frigging low and then the background music is blown way out. So I had to keep turning the video volume up and down so my ears weren't destroyed everytime the music came back unexpectedly. Also, you never gave any dimensions for anything other than what you cut for the 1x4. The rebar length and the top and bottom plywood didn't have dimensions so we are left to figure that out after we've assembled the walls of the kennel. Also, I know filling the pilot holes seems cleaner but when someone of us move homes, we aren't gonna want to take that whole kennel as one piece from place to place. So I'd drill the pilot holes on the inside of the kennel where they won't be seen, so that you can disassemble later for traveling. Other than that stuff there, you did a great job on the kennel.
