I like 🔥 so I wanted to use Incendio a lot,but then I learned that the"power up"version of that spell is actually Confringo 😒 which makes no sense because Confringo in Latin means"to Break"so WHY would you name a fire spell like that?!?!
i used decendo on an enemy on a wooden bridge and the bridge collapsed, killing the enemy, i then had to repair the bridge after the fight. this is truly one of the most fun games iv played in years
Honestly, I love how this game has turned out and the player base is seeming to be giving it outstanding reviews. I was hyped for this game when I first heard about it but didn't have overly high hopes with how these past new games have turned out. But after 20+ hours in game, it's easily my favorite game of the past 2-3 years so far.
Don't get me wrong, it has its flaws, but nothings perfect and as a Harry Potter fan I can overlook them for now. Lack of quiditch, terrible inventory space, flying restrictions, and a little too small and constricted of a map. Those are the main flaws I've found personally. But there's plenty good to make up for what it lacks. Exploration is very much rewarded, and a reward all on its own. The broom flying is weird but once you get used to it, sooo much fun, There are a bunch of references in the game as well I've noticed. Not just to the Harry Potter universe but to our universe as well, and others. I definitely recommend the game. It has flaws yes, but is amazing none the less. And the game is so beautiful, on all low graphics my 1660 stutters when I move in towns and in most areas of hogwarts. Still I'm already like 25 hrs into my first playthrough. The stuttering is worth it for how good the game looks, I can only imagine how beautiful it is on a decent graphics card with higher settings
@@neowolf09 I mostly agree with you. I don't mind the map size but I do hate having to get off my broom all the time because I hit a restricted area and inventory management is a nightmare I am constantly having to stop exploring to sell stuff. I love the authenticity though. I also like the silly little interactions that go on as you explore the castle. My favorite so far is either the one where the 2 girls leave this poor kid alone to float around the hallway or when the knight statue gets tired of the other statues humming and destroys it.
Did you play eldin ring? No hate and I love this Harry Potter game it’s been long over due. But elding ring is still top dog for me and that it was my first ever dark souls type from soft game. Never bought it cause I thought I’d waste money and not like it but gave it a shot and idk how many builds/ hours I have on the game.
lol, im not an expert on spells but levioso and wingardium leviosa operate differently, as W.L. is more of a platforming mechanic, but i totally get what you are saying, ive been having a blast, to the point im even thinking about streaming it and just ignore chat and just have a good time flying
@@masterxsoldier3596 according to the game descriptions- correct! Levioso just makes things float in place. W.L. Makes them float and also let’s you move it around and change its orientation
I don't speak latin but i think leviosa and levioso are different conjugations, like w.l. is "you specific thing, i command you to hover under my precise intent and telekinetic instructions" and levioso is more of a "just fly you fucking piece of shit"
My first story mode is a good guy ravenclaw, and he's learning the dark arts spells, but not using them, for example I learned crucio but had it casted on me in the story. The idea is I learn the spells just for that extra knowledge, but I don't use them, for fear of being sent to Azkaban. Though I may if a situation is dire enough qnd no one will be there to see it. 🤫
Yea and when you're doing the big trials during the main story, it helps tons to be able to disarm and use the enemies weapon against those giant stone statue things, does amazing damage.
Superb as ever. You are by FAR the best RUclipsr covering this game. Some who will remain un-named - haven't considered that not everybody bought the more expensive games to give them early access. You have taken that into account and tailored all your latest videos accordingly. Thanks for all you've recommended and shown so far. I get to try it all myself on Friday.
Greetings Andy! You asked me to give you my feedback on the game now I've had time to play and really enjoy it. That opinion can be summed up in one word: AWESOME!! One of the very best swords and sorcery games I've ever played and, trust me, I've played loads. I'm finding Expelliarmus to be just as useful and necessary as you suggested. I love it when an opponent yells they want their wand back. Great fun! Anyway, just wanted to add feedback. Definite 10/10 in my book though I have noticed a serious lack of KILTS given it's set in the highlands of Scotland and far too many London accents, not Scottish too. A proper clock to tell us the exact time would have been a nicer touch as well rather than just Night or Day options but otherwise, all the animations, the beasts, the Room of Requirement and the Ancient Magic tests are spot on. Thanks again for all your excellent Video tutorials, tips and tricks.
Z, this is awesome to hear mate and I agree with you completely! Cheers for sharing your thoughts btw, we're going to have to make this a regular thing 🤣
And since we keep changing the spells, it becomes hard to remember. I have caught myself pushing buttons during a battle to try to find “where is that damn yellow spell again?”
Glad its the mouse wheel for me. I wouldn't say PC controls are perfect, you can break your fingers in combat using WASD, TAB, CTRL, X, Y, 1-4 and Q all the time, but that one at least is easy.
A controller with paddles helps a lot. After using an Elite 2 controller this past year I will never go back to using a controller without paddle buttons.
I've been progressing so far (have been playing for at least 10 hours), and I already have a fixed setting for combat Set 1: Expelliarmus, Levioso, Incendio, Accio (main/juggling set) Set 2: Confringo, Glacius, Diffindo, Depulso (secondary/heavy hitting set) As for my essentials talents, use the one in this video, and the other three that puts curse marks upon Expelliarmus and Stupefy hits and the shared damages among cursed opponents.
I like how you have to learn and earn the spells, makes it’s so interesting. I get the game on Friday so can’t wait to start trying out all the spells in game. Great video Andy, appreciate it and find it SO helpful to prep me for playing at the weekend, keep it up man 🪄
i always prefered to combine the AoE Versions of accio and incendio. pull them all to you and ignite the whole crew with just one attack. plus, what you could've added, cutting the enemies (diffindo) is pretty nice, but if you freeze them with glacius first, you do way more dmg. maybe another video of great spell combos?
I am level 16 and just got to the second DADA quest after learning the fire spell. XD I did too much exploring and discovering the scrolls between Hogwarts and hogsmeade
#teamsemiearly! Only 10h but yeah I am really enjoying this game eventhough I feared the wand combat . And what amount of content everywhere, I havent been this distracted since Mass Effect hahaha. And my god, can we please talk about riding the Broom! Give us Quidditch!!
A lot of RUclipsrs and streamers don’t know that when you are in your gear if you press A (or X on PlayStation I think) on any item that’s what you wear, but if you press X(or square) that’s what will show on your character. So you don’t actually have to put on all of the higher offense or defense rating items. You should cover that in a video.

I simply went back to my childhood when that bgm of Harry Potter was played😢. It really made me to think the first time I watched Harry Potter 1st part
Id like to hear your comments on this. Lets say im playing a good wizard, and i have NO real love for the 3 unforgivable curses. Are there other spells just as powerful to compensate not doing it? I don't know if dark spells yet impact your good/bad morality system, but i try to play true to my character choices. Is there a benefit to NOT get them?
There's no real benefit to not getting them, but there are spells that are incredibly powerful, such as the Incendo fire tornado, the Ancient Magic, etc. But there's no reason not to get them as they just add to your arsenal unless you're role-playing a good character. They really aren't essential. They just make you feel powerful and add some dialogue and reactions in cinematics.
Well my morally bankrupt ravenclaw simply thinks that AK is just a more efficent and humane way of killing someone then accio them an inch from my wands end and setting their face on fire until their eyeballs pop like popcorn and the brain boils out their ears. I could be arsed to be a pacifist if not every damn creature and wizard were out to kill me.

Yes there is a way to get just as overpowered without using those spells. Get your red combat enhanced potion leveled up in the talent tree. Then get the talents that build ancient magic meter faster. Pop a potion and use ancient magic. That one shots almost every enemy in the game to include world bosses. I like the kill spells myself but there’s always another way. Also, level up your combat plant abilities and you can have 6 cabbages out at once. Get the level 3 summon enhancement for your armor and each cabbage will hit for 300+ damage. You can delete entire camps or bosses in a few seconds. Set up your room of requirement to farm cabbages and you’ll be unstoppable.
I use the 3 curses with arresto momentum and flipendo that curses too. I use one on each enemy and with avada kadabra you aoe kill all cursed enemys that means instant 5 ppl dead.

Avada Kedavra, Crucioand Imperio are already so broken together. I got Avada as soon as I could and no enemy could stop me, even higher level ones.
on accio and qingardium leviosa, yes and no. when you have wingardium leviosa those small and medium opject you can actually move towards you with accio you will be able to levitate, however .. the large objects like the big rolling balls at merlin trials accio doesn't work well. wingardium leviosa on it's self will lift them big things and you can just walk around with those huge objects. so if in doubt just hit T and place wingardium leviosa in one of the four slots and use it on its own.
It's a really good game, wish it played well for me, having some hardware issues but the little bit I did play was really good. I hope everyone is enjoying the game.
Did not realize the sphere and the big guy. I just throw a vase at him to destroy it and dodged the rest of the time. This will help in my next play through.
Yea I only unlocked my broom at lvl 21 or so, got my talents at lvl 20... I kinda forgot about story mode and fucked off as soon as I was able to go exploring :D
when you say 'completed the game'.. is there like an ending after which there is not much to do in this game? it seems great but i worry you just finish it and shelf it after 100h or so
progress through the story until you pickup the Jackdaw Quest (House Elf by the Black Lake) and upon completion should activate your talents/further quests
Expelliarmus is my favorite to use since I can throw their weapons at them for high damage. I can see why they spammed the crap out of it in the books.
i have to admit not a Harry potter fan , my son got the game so i thought let see and yes it's loads of fun to play . only wish it had a two player option that would be mint.
Oh, never disarmed any boss. Always just dodged. The dodge talent is incredibly useful for avoiding blasts. Almost never took any any core talents either. The extra diamonds asap and the dodge. 3 stealth talents. The rest into dark arts and consumables - the potions are insane.
Thanks for the tips on Accio! I can't wait for the update file to download so I can play. Won't be until tomorrow. As much as I'm ready to play, at least I can get caught up on your videos! Just found you today and you earned my sub after the first video within the first few minutes. Keep up the fantastic work! And thank you again!
im so confused i just started playing it im level 13 but still have not even unlocked my talents nor have a broom lol i think i roamed around the castle a bit too much the level requirements for my quests are still level 4 so im guessing i just got really far ahead level wise
Same, well level 18 before I hit the talents as I'm going for a 100% run, so I'm forced to be methodical in my sweeps... You get the talents after you complete the forbidden forest quest, and you get a broom as basically the next mission.
Expelliarmus or Avada Kedavra? Which one are you using most? 👀 I hope this guide helps you out & you enjoy the game btw 👍🏻

@@Kingeptacon you press the normal button that you use to throw other objects but you have to unlock the ability in talents first.
I love using levioso on an enemy and then slamming them down right when they yell "put me down!"
How do you get bombarda? currently 25 hours in and level 24 and I haven't gotten any indication of how to get it.
Bombarda is unlocked through one of the Beast Class assignments. It's late midgame to early end.
@@voodoo_gaming Ahh thanks. Haven't yet gotten any Beast Class Assignments, only about a quarter through the main quest I think.
i have to admit not a Harry potter fan , my son got the game so i thought let see and yes it's loads of fun to play . only wish it had a two player option that would be mint.
Totally agree mate! Hope you and your son continue to enjoy it!
Love all ur vids on Hogwarts Legacy ! Very helpful mate, big Thanks ;)
lol I didn't even realize you can disarm the attack of that boss, I just dodged it every time
Use first Accio and then Incendio and that’s OP
can you do a guide how to fix the stuttering on pc,
I can’t read, so I don’t know where I’m supposed to go to grab the right resources for that spell spiritus
my game is litterly downloading right now
This game is pretty much everything I wanted
Accio as a combat spell is kinda neat, however it's against the lore, as it's not possible to use it on living creatures.
What you pull with Accio is the clothes/armor of enemies not the creature themselves
@@spartan-208 yeah, that actually makes sense. Thanks
@@spartan-208 Well, I did pull a chicken up to me at least.. and it didn't have clothes
I actually think I heard a student talk about this in the game in Hogwarts.. I think.. o.o
Oh, never disarmed any boss. Always just dodged. The dodge talent is incredibly useful for avoiding blasts.
Almost never took any any core talents either. The extra diamonds asap and the dodge. 3 stealth talents. The rest into dark arts and consumables - the potions are insane.
Are the curses the only green spells? So are there green shields or no because those are something people may not want to get?
Yes they are mate but they break through every shield and you can choose not to get those spells in the game
Don't feel bad I did the same thing with that boss I only beat it by giving up one slot for yellow
im so confused i just started playing it im level 13 but still have not even unlocked my talents nor have a broom lol i think i roamed around the castle a bit too much the level requirements for my quests are still level 4 so im guessing i just got really far ahead level wise
Same, well level 18 before I hit the talents as I'm going for a 100% run, so I'm forced to be methodical in my sweeps...
You get the talents after you complete the forbidden forest quest, and you get a broom as basically the next mission.
Can I use dark magic on gryffindor house?
Your house is just your starting color outfit and homeroom you will basically never go to... basically doesn't matter, outside of rp.
What's the max amount of talent points you can get?
Id love to play this now, but I only have a PS4 so I have to wait till APRIL D:
Here I am again. So follow is earned!
Ah, yes, Depulso. More commonly known in the frigid North as Fus Ro Dah.
