I get the impression that there was a miscommunication. I don't think anyone on Tom Cruises side of the equation was expecting someone to just gift him a car. I'm sure all the haters will jump out of the wood work with their "he's a scientologist and blah blah blah" illogical hatefilled statements. Tom Cruise is a really nice, super hardworking and incredibly generous guy. No one expected the car to be free, I am sure the "no no" response to Chip's quote was merely that his price didn't include the price of the car itself, that they wanted to purchase it and have it delivered, and he only quoted having it delivered. Furthermore, its not like Tom is notoriously cheap or couldnt afford it, quite the opposite in both cases. PS, for context, I absolutely love Chip and am always blown away by his work, furthermore I think scientology is just plain idiotic...I am not a Tom Cruise mega fan, I am just making the point that if you separate feelings for either party from the equation, and look at the situation without bias, this is almost certainly just a miscommunication.

He also has a pretty short temper.

I still got in my personal magazine collection a brazilian FullPower, witch was a very popular magazine back in the 2000's here in Brazil and used to show all kind of custom cars: hot rods, muscle cars, Fast&Furious' tuning style, and this car, the P32 was featured in one edition and even got a poster. As a kid starting to enjoy cars I used to look at him and think "boy, that's gorgeous" and now, 24 y-o, I look at that and still act the same, but knowing that it demands such a massive dedication and talent to build a car like this. A car that, even though it was build back in the mid-2000s, still timelessly stunning.

On a trip in Ca, I visited Foose shop when it was just finished, this video and explanations of how it was built does not render justice, This is a piece of automotive art and I remember the person at the shop explaining the steering system, I was amazed, I don't care what tom cruise wants, just like your black truck, keep this one in you family Chip. You will regret selling this one.
We used a six blade Ford Flathead truck fan on our Roadster build and the engine has never ran hot! Those old truck fans are really heavy duty and the blades are riveted a really cool look. It really pushes air! I found it on eBay and completely rebuilt it. Then I painted it black and tips old cat yellow to match the “Eagle Squadron” nose art on the cowl. This Roadster was featured in Street Rodder and made the Turtle Wax Top 100 in 2009. This 32 Roadster is actually going up on Bring a Trailer tomorrow or Friday. Like Chip just said “ built like the roots of hot Rodding and back to the basics! High Noon

How have I never seen this car? My 31 model a roadster highboy is going p51d styling its bare metal clear coat and blue nose. with lincoln parts and the zinc chromate accents . One of your old coworkers is my mentor on this build and he never said a word about the p32... his body guy sente a picture of a m2 machines toy car and I found the car from there.

I’ve always had a dream that if I could build a car for SEMA it would be a Ford Tudor sedan, slightly scaled down in raw aluminum, all smooth head rivets, trimmed with carbon fiber visor and other accents, heavy spoke “wagon” type wheels, powered by Cosworth and setup for drifting. If I ever hit it big maybe you’ll see it at SEMA.

Notice the side view of a P-40 then compare it to the P-38. Nearly identical since they used the same Allison V-1710 engine. Even the spinner/prop are Curtiss Wrights and are also similar. That lineage is even seen on the earlier models of both a/c with the angled radiator inlet as well. I know, TMI. Sorry.

I made a tractor door skin out of a large galvinized visitors parking sign today for a 2004 John Deere 4210. Does that count. I encorperated self tappers.
This car is absolutely spectacular under every aspect, if Foose was into traditional rod and kustom he would build the most amazing rides. As for the Tom Cruise deal, I guess there's no limit to the entitled-ness (is it even a word?😅) of that kind of people, which I find it to be all sorts of bad taste.

The P-40 was the first of the shark mouthed planes used during WW2. For example, Ken Chenault used them to great effect with the Flying Tigers AVG. They went by several names such as Kittyhawk (the version given to the Brits) and War Hawk for the Americans. Why was this given the name P-32?

I have a question for some of you...with some of the cars in the 30's 40's had that real classy look.....Why hasn't someone bought the rights if they can do that...and started a new line with some modifications, engines of today, dash, etc...
Nice car. But I'm not suprised it's running hot. Every (common) watercooled car engine is actually partially aircooled. Especially big engines from the era. Without air constantly cooling it's outside it's prone to overheating - no matter how good your electric waterpumps are. The hood has no vents and the upper engine is partly covered. Air entering the grille will probably be forced out of the open bottom of the engine bay - leaving a hot spot at the top.
This vehicle looks quite incomplete. Maybe because the fenders have been forgotten? The other car shown in this video is truly a work of art and a masterpiece 👍👌👏. Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.
There were 1000s of hot rods, rat rods and mods from the 30s-60s with no fenders. Why would you mention fenders knowing there are 1000s of rods with no fenders? Aside from that, Foose and that 'other' car, are the world epitome of car design and craftsmanship. No one compares in my opinion.
