    not only are more devices on arms, there is incredible headroom for royalty increase because its such a tiny fraction of entire cost base.

    The negative comments on here are from short sellers and puts options holders in a massive squeeze right now. The hate is purely related to that. ARM is Edge AI and increasingly as AI in data centers and even non-ai just data workloads are all being ran through ARM. ARM has V9 specialized chipsets with neural processing units called NPU's (like GPU's) that can process AI on your localized device such as your smartphone and VR systems. You will hear more about this from Apple, Tesla, Mercedez and Samsung and many many others. All the nonsense being spoken in the comments is from people hurting. I pour a sip of tears for you not doing your research. Congratulations Rene - Job well done!

    Such a national asset of the type such as Arm are rare on the European side of the Atlantic and it should never have been allowed to sell off to outside the UK together with the control. The Japanese who know a good asset when they see it have actually gained far more from this UK jewel than the UK has.

      thats a very myopic view. Are you of the view that people should only be allowed to buy stocks from thier own country ?

    • @erongi233
      @erongi233 3 месяца назад

      @@avillageofbigheads that is a very ignorant view. Every nation has national interest and chips manufacturers together with chips are a part of the national interest. The US denies China of advanced chips made by Nvidia and others. Control of chip manufacturing is a clear national interest and control of Arm should have been guaranteed under UK control.

      @@erongi233 By investing in ARM , ARM in turn don't give you the ARM architecture. You give them money and then ARM does whatever it sees fit with that money. A Chinese national can still invest and buy NVIDIA stocks. An American can still buy Chinese stocks or invest in any Chinese company. so what are you talking about ?

      @@avillageofbigheads SoftBank bought 100 % of ARM for £24.3 billion and now it is worth 8 years later over £50 billion. SoftBank as the now have 90% have control so can move it out whenever they like. ARM is important to the UK economy. It is in the national interest to keep it in the UK. Secondly Chinese are not allowed to buy Nvidia on NASDAQ. Thirdly why the UK authorities let over 51% control go to Japanese country who can move it wherever theylike?

      @@erongi233 at least you’ve moved away from your earlier ignorant comment about chips and keeping those chips in the UK. Now you’ve agreed that it’s about the money. It’s obvious you are bitter about the money gained by the Japanese, so let’s talk money. If the UK saw the potential in something so fundamental to its economy, why didn’t the UK government fund the entire enterprise. The UK govt didn’t do squat. SoftBank saw the potential, invested heavily. The company does well and now you want the profits to stay within the country. Where’s the logic in that? Ask the UK govt to fund more tech firms and then you’ll probably get to keep the profits too.

    Arm is undeniably great, but this might be a bubble. Their own arm desings and chips are behind competitors and saying that they are at the front of AI is like saying Broadcom is at the front of AI. Everyone is saying it for marketing reasons to non technical investors that don't have a clue about AI and every media outlet is repeating it for hype and profit. In a similar fashion, every other server component may advertise that they are powering AI for hype, construction companies that build datacenters could advertise that they are powering AI, Electric companies could advertise that are powering AI, Hvac companies could advertise that they are powering AI and so on. There is also a risc no pun intended that once ARM royalties go up too much or companies have to pay too much to Arm, there's always the Risc-V that is free.
