1:10 damn this line hits hard, i live in the south of the UK and since I've started looking, a comp has never been held closer than 2 hours from me and all those were mostly made up of events that I don't do, I went to norwich summer a few weekends ago because I happened to also be going to center parcs the next day 30 mins away from the comp haha another sidenote, I looked on the comp log and as far as I can see a comp has *never* been held in my county. mad.
Thing about me is that i am often better at comps than at home because when you practise you dont rly care much about what time i get where as in comp its 100% tryhard. I guess that mentality helps.
What about having a recorded competition or live stream of one playing for ambient sounds would that affect the realism of the simulated competition if loud background noise is a factor for you? It can be a factor for me. How would you handle the background noise?
Yeah having some background noise on can be a good idea for competition simulation. You don't need a competition livestream though if you don't have one. Typing "bar noise" RUclips gives you videos which should be good enough.
@@harrietjameson it's the only thing in the wca that you don't actually turn like the other puzzles. Respect to people that do it tho, I just don't understand why a puzzle like that is in the wca while others aren't.
Very helpful video! That's what many cubers needed. I will try a few of these things at home.

Also lighting at comps is extremely good ussualy so that helps too I guess.
Compete in all events doesn't work for me cause I only focus on 2x2 and 3x3. All the other I only do for fun and don't really care at all
