I'm loving the sound quality of this headset and its price however, I can't seem to find the D312U on the market for Australia. Is there any other ones like this model available in Australia or that ships to Australia? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Hi, very good video review! I need a headseat that has good audio quality, because I have hearing problems and I need one that does not hear low the voice of people in Zoom meetings, because I am an interpreter. If it has good noise blocking, it would be a plus (I work in an office with more interpreters). What can you recommend? Thank you very much!
Hi Marilyn, let me share a few options. The first would be the headset in this video and the other two are below. Option 2 headsetadvisor.com/products/discover-d722u-noise-cancelling-usb-wired-headset-for-computer Option 3 headsetadvisor.com/products/jabra-evolve2-40-stereo-24089-989-899
The D312U blows away, by a significant margin, all of the un-corded (bluetooth/dongle) headsets that you've tested, both in reproducing the human voice (for calls) and for noise cancellation. I'm not sure about musical sound reproduction, because that part of the test has some ambiguities, but it stands to reason that with everything else being equal, the musical sound quality should be pretty damned good. I am anxiously awaiting your thoughts on my previous questions.
Hi my mom is in the hospital and she needs a headset to work with her iphone and her iPad. Could you recommend for her. She is hard of hearing and she needs ones that she can adjust the sound?
I have a question, David. Just how much fuctionality am I going to lose if I plug the 3.5mm jack directly into my PC's headset jack; I can't really afford to tie-up a USB port, if I can help it. Otherwise, this headset seems to be exactly what I've been searching for. I guess what I'm really asking is, are there any controls on the headset itself? And/or would you still recommend the headset, if you knew the USB port connector was not going to be utilized? Okay, second edit and now third question; Would the headset require a dedicated port, or, would it still be able to function adequately were the USB connectory utilized, but plugged into a USB bank alongside, one, or perhaps, two other devices?
The only functionality you'll lose is no ability to adjust the volumes from the headset cord, or mute/unmute. Other than that it would be plug and play for audio. The headset will work good if you didn't utilize the USB connectivity. To answer your third question, you can connect the headset to a USB bank and it will work fine.
@@HeadsetAdvisor You guys rule. I was just about to turn in. Thanks for not leaving me hanging and answering all my questions. Have a great day and goodnight.
Yes it does Kev! Keep in mind though all headsets with a noise canceling microphone help reduce the noise. There's none we've tested that 100% cancel out all background noise.
Speaker quality is poor, sounds flat, practically zero bass (and I'm not some audiophile who likes or needs a tonne of bass) so you can forget about being immersed in music, film or games. Microphone quality is great, about identical to Red Dragon's mics which punch above their weight for the price. I'm primarily a gamer, but since I hate the suffocating feel of over-the-ear headsets, I'm forced to slum it up in office supplies looking for on-ear headsets with both decent speakers and mics. In this day and age, that's next to impossible to find because we're living at the height of the reign of the "cheap and easy". Everything is worse than it was even 10 years ago. I'm currently using a decade old model $30 headset from Cyber Acoustics (again designed for office use) that's barely hanging on, and even it has superior speakers to these (it shouldn't given how cheap they look), though an inferior, but still acceptable quality mic with better echo cancellation. Sadly, I can't just buy another pair by that brand because they too have slackened standards, ceased production of older models and started making new models with cheaper, inferior parts, resulting in poorer audio and voice while charging the same price or higher. At his rate, in 2023, I fear that the hunt for a suitable replacement brand will go on indefinitely for something I might spend ten minutes to find in 2008. Anyway, this is a 5/10 headset with the mic quality being its only real selling point. If they improved their audio drivers they'd be in danger of making a well-rounded product. As it is though, $115 altogether with import fees is far too much for such marginal audio quality. Won't be keeping these.

Unfortunately the D312U isn't available outside of the US and Canada at this time.

Hi Paula, this is a good model to consider that we’re seeing customers purchase with hearing impairments ruclips.net/video/2y5tTOAzmUI/видео.html

Great Review!
Glad you think so!
Does the noice cancellation still work when the headset is using 'jack' only (when it's unplugged from USB)?
