Ouch, when I saw the state of the motors and switches inside that stryfe, I knew you were going to have to replace them.
It was nice to see a video on how one can diagnose their flywheel blaster if it's starting to act up on them, since I don't really recall there being much on the subject to this point.
That was why I started this series. :)
In my experience, alot of my non-working thrifted blasters with a removable battery tray (Rapidstrike, Rhinofire, Vulcan, etc...) weren't working because the spring terminals inside the blaster weren't touching the tray contacts. Stretching/re-aligning the spring terminals solves most of my problems.

When you explain multimeters, make sure you recommend a fused ammeter. Much safer, less burning.
Also you could add the led to your 9v battery. You can test continuity across wires and switches safely. I realise you mentioned to do that with the battery tray. Just another option.

For the can or will it fit a k26?(spring) .For the rod in the plunger tube, sometimes it was to big for the spring, couldn't you have used your dremmal tool to remove some of the rod that pushes the air out of the tube? To fit the spring on?
+Josh Giffin weakening the plunger rod is generally a bad idea.

Very useful video. Wasn't sure where to post this question, but any plans to make a video on repurposing air tanks into integrations? I picked up a couple supermaxx 3000s and was thinking of a wrist mounted or shoulder mounted absolver cannon.

If you have a multimeter, testing switches and wires is much easier, as you can test continuity and resistance.
...yes...but if you are someone who owns and knows how to use a multimeter you are almost certainly not going to be seeking this advise. These videos are for people who don't already have a solid understanding of circuits and who don't already own a full set of circuit diagnostic tools...

@@legoboy-ox2kx anything is easier if you have the right tools. That is literally the point of tools. But that is not the point of these videos. The point of these videos is to help people who do not have the right tools.

Captain Xavier Just curious... Was there a particular reason you didn't use a circuit tester/voltage meter? They can be had for very cheap- Harbor Freight & Tool has one that meets Nerf needs for under $5.

My birthday is the 14 of January!Ps. What happens if you put a more powerful spring in a rival magazine? Will the balls just automatically shoot out the barrel when you put it in a gun or hold down the trigger?
Cap, would you have any advice for someone who's trying to start up a nerf group? Me and a friend have tried starting up for the last two or three years, but no one seems interested in joining. The blasters and everything are supplied, since people are more likely to try it if it's free.
My stryfe stopped working so I'm wondering if I replace the internals if it will work?

How should I know? I don't know your life. I would need to know what tools, skills, and materials you have. But as a general rule: any non-pump action springer CAN be made pump action...by adding a pump.
So um... what if you have a stampede that will fire the motor until a certain point, at which point it then dies and the plunger tube stays in that position until the jam door is opened? could you possibly do a video covering such blasters as the stampede with motor/spring combinations, please.

Ah. Generally that is the result of lower voltage or a bad gear box
My blaster is not shooting straight what do I do about that? My flywheels are balanced, aligned and are spinning the same speed. It's shooting to the right.
Then aim to the left. ;P
But seriously, check and make sure your cage is aligned correctly. If it is not fully seated it could be slightly canted.

How do you get or make the tester that runs off of a 9 volt battery?
+A J Rodinsky the one I have is just a 9v connector as once found at Radio shack. I assume they can now be found online.
One could always use a cheap volt meter, such as those sold by Out of Darts.
i like to leave the jam door switch in just not connected so it stays forward and i dont like removing jam doors cuz i think its uglu

So uh I'm gonna follow this video but my stryfe was rewired with better motors and for a lipo and when I plugged the lipo in it didn't work and everything including the lipo was overheating (and it's worked alot already iv had this rewired for at least to weeks) my geuss is that it's the switch because it was smoking XD

Is it possible to repair dead motors?
Probably...but it will cost WAY more than replacing them and will never work as good.
Captain Xavier ever tried to make a whiteout stryfe or rapidstrike?
Quick question would 4 IMRs be enough to be some what of a replacement for one Lipo?
I am NOT an electrician so what I am about to tell you is quite probably completely incorrect. If you want a better answer I recommend a neat little website called "Google.com." :P
But basically each IMR is the equivalent of an "s." So 2 IMRs is basically a 2s battery. 3 IMRs is a 3s battery. 4 IMR's would be a 4s (which is more than you usually want). So it will depend on your motors. The issue with IMRs is they are not designed for the amount of current nor the sustained draw that Flywheel blasters require. They also get weaker as they discharge. This is not the case with LiPo batteries that are designed for running powerful motors like those in RC cars and drones. They will work...but not as well and if you are not careful you can damage them or your blaster.
Key take away, do lots of research and learn to use them safely.
I'm a total noob at this, and your tips are exceptionally helpful, as I intend to start modifying blasters as a hobby. But after watching all the flywheel tips, I have one question remaining: How does the pusher mech work? And how do conveyor belt guns do it? (Hyperfire, Regulator, etc.)

Captain Xavier Purely out of curiosity, HAVE you ever considered adding a bipod to make a bazooka-mortar, for the fun factor if nothing else? Just the look on people's faces as you take a knee and set it up would almost be worth the effort regardless of the low utility, lol. I've got a great mental image of it, with you bellowing, "FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!" and everyone on the field who knows you just instinctively doing a belly flop. 😁
