I dont understand why everyone suddenly freaks out at akutagawa's training, that's mafia. First thing in mafia is obedience and akutagawa was not exactly obedient but rash not enough control on his power and just kills without thinking the consequences and reason, it was shown in many instances. After that comes with loyalty, pain tolerance and ability to withstand mental tortures, incase they ever get caught by enemies they dont leak out secrets. And this particular training has to to inhuman you cant teach this thing theoretically. And I am certain the more higher position you hold you have undergo certain sorts of training to be eligible to get acess to core information. In this kind of organisation information is more valuable than life. Mafia is not a ability or martial art training center. People there always walk on the edge of knife, bloodshed and violence day and night. This may be abusive to normal people but the moment they join mafia they are not normal citizens anymore. And punishments are bound to be cruel in mafia to instill that failure is not acceptable as failure in missions means your and your companions death and also failing to complete the mission. You cannot expect mafia to make you write 1000 words self critisicm essay. When Akutagawa joined he asked Dazai for a reason to live and Dazai gave him harsh conditions and kept high expectations for him to continue to chase and improve and live. As Dazai giving his acceptance means he has nothing for to live for unless he finds some other reason in the mean time. Same with Koyoka, she is an assassin, she has to undergo training to learn to kill swiftly, and quietly. And she belongs from a family of assassins. The Abuse cycle may be abuse to others but not just to Dazai, Aku and koyoka. All the members certainly goes all different kinds of training to survive, they been trained to survive by breaking down everthing and building up again to survive in that environment.
if it was a normal kind of training in the port mafia, then chuuya, kouyou and others would've undergone the same kind of treatment. but we never once got any kind of confession from them about it, nor has any of them ever defended dazai for it which clearly shows the levels of dazai's treatment weren't normal. otherwise somebody would've already confirmed that. that said, the point does stand that it's the mafia and you can't expect it to kiss you on the forehead after failing a mission and tell you to do better next time. clearly you'll get punished; albeit, that does not mean dazai can't be held accountable for his actions. that's the clear difference. you can acknowledge that his behavior came from growing up within the port mafia walls, but they're no excuse to what he has done during his time there.
@@chansprotector In BSD we hardly get a Mafia member's perspective, but we can also see Kouyou manipulating and brainwashing Koyoka when she went with Atsushi by saying she is flower who can bloom in darkness and shouldn't yearn for light as it will burn her and stuff after which Kouyou got caught, Dazai himself told Kouyou herself had a torture interrogation department, she cannot lead a department by herself without knowing anything about it. Kouyou has been in the Mafia before Mori took over and she also runs a redlight district whose members are spies, assassins who trick their clients and targets by seducing. And previous boss was much more cruel, Kouyou couldn't reach a executive position without anything. And Chuuya, he was trained under Kouyou. But you should also see Chuuya has a very high pain tolerance as while using Corruption bleeding all over then again getting up after a sleep and going to work without a fuss, he is definitely not disobedient . Other mafia members didn't question Dazai for his training even Odasaku as he himself is an assassin and knows how training is for them. No one is whitewashing Dazai or his deeds because he did bad things and he did it willingly whether being a witness for Mori or joining mafia Dazai did everything willingly. So just blaming Dazai for being strict with his disobedient doesn't make sense, when he is just following the protocol heartlessly. If anything is at fault it's the whole system there. So ADA freaking out and accusing Dazai sounds like making a fuss and being hypocrite when they wouldn't have batted an eye if it was any other mafia members doing it to their subordinates. Because they actually doesn't give a shit what happens in mafia, they over react just because they felt betrayed by Dazai when ADA is used to seeing just a mask of Dazai and taking out their emotions on him.
@@riddhymaity6528 the comparison with kyouka and kouyou is a bit dull because i was making a point on dazai getting physical with akutagawa, while kouyou only used manipulation/psychical abuse as a way to get into kyouka's head, at least from what we've seen. so yeah you can assume she definitely tortures members, but we've never seen her apply the things she's learned to kyouka, her own subordinate, so the point barely stands. although still bad, i'm pointing out how we saw nobody else really got physical with their subordinates except dazai ( then akutagawa with kyouka years later due to dazai's influence ). albeit the whole way the port mafia operates is fucked because, clearly, it's a mafia organization, dazai was just as bad for applying those protocols onto his own subordinate and justifying them. even if he's good now or at least attempting to be after leaving that hellhole, we can still clearly see that he doesn't have an ounce of regret for what he's done to akutagawa. besides, we can clearly see dazai wasn't only bad in that aspect, but for manipulating chuuya's friends into losing their trust in him, the crimes he's done as a mafia member etc. there's lots of reasons people clearly dislike him for and they have the right to. also, mori never got physical with dazai but he's still hated due to the fact that he psychically ruined him instead, and that's known for a fact. if you can defend dazai's abuse of akutagawa, you can then also defend mori for his own abuse and the abuse cycle that he started. btw, it's an abuse cycle because that trio are the only boss-subordinate relationships that we've seen get physical with each other. that's why they're seen in a much deeper aspect than the rest of the pm members. so yes, you can definitely blame him for his behavior judging by the fact that he's never once owned up to it, as 'normal' as it was by their rules. just like you can blame mori for influencing him in the first place being the freaky character he is, and just like you can blame akutagawa for his abusive behavior toward kyouka and for everything he's done as a mafia member. oh and btw, one more thing. if it's normal training for the pm, how come dazai, who used to be disobedient all the time, never got punished the way others did? yeah maybe it's because mori- who is the only one higher on the rank of pm members than dazai and other executives- doesn't rely on physical strength or that he knew he couldn't go against dazai, he still could've done something to assure dazai remembers he still is the pm boss, but he just never did. so how come dazai is the first we see attempt to teach his subordinates a lesson in that way? just a thought.
