Quick Release Fuel Line Connectors (fuel and air lines), DIY way to remove them
HTML-код

- This video will show a quick tip how to undo or disconnect the fuel line or air line quick release connectors, the squeeze-type fuel and air lines that pretty much all of the cars use. Even though they are called quick release, they are nothing but quick release. Use two nuts on long-nosed pliers and use electric tape to secure them in place. That will work perfectly. Also, if one side is very tight, remove one of the nuts and do it that way.

Thanks a lot for your brilliant technique, god bless you and your family, please remember me in your prayers ❤
Awesome, just what I needed for my tractor. Glorious example working on a Frenchie/Pug too... :-)
Ha ha, that's very creative. There are special tools designed for this very process, but I gotta tip a hat to the DIY option. When designing a tool, asymmetry might be useful to get into tight spaces like this.
I was trying to think of some tools that I had with the ends event in word for that I could accomplish this but I couldn't think of anything and I decided to check out RUclips and your video popped up and I'm surprised I didn't think of this but thank you very much I sent you a super thanks
Great idea, thanks! The lower one on the fuel filter always gives me hell to release...
Excellent explainer, keep these videos coming! Very well done.
Great tip. Before watching this video, I came up with an idea to use cable tie fixing. But I do not protect it from falling with the insulation tape. Thanks !
Great tip. Innovative. Saves a trip to the auto store.
Ingenious Idea, thank you for a brilliant tip.
I got a old cheap pair of long nose pliers and ground back the jaws just to leave lugs at the end. Does the same trick as well
Yeah, that also works, I just wanted something re-useable, these pliers are a bit expensive.
You are my hero! Thank you
That is very clever, thanks for the useful tip and helpful video.
Exactly what I needed thank you
Nice creative tip. Thanks
Dude,THANK YOU. That's badass..
Thanks!
Many thanks indeed, first time anyone has ever given me super thanks. Thank you, appreciate it!
Wow this is a really smart idea! Thanks!🙃
Great tip. Thanks
thanks for the tip
Great idea - thanks
Wish I would have seen you before
Great tip! Thanks. 👍
good idea sir
Brilliant!!!!! 👏🏾
Very2 good tips
Brilliant
How do is re-attach the fuel line again? Only push it over or any special?
Just push them in until they click securely, no special tool needed.
@@moremolecules thanks a lot man. That helps. Need to replace one of the fuel lines and wanted to prepare.
Very appreciated!
Did the change yesterday evening. Your answer is proved now 👍😂♥️
Parallel Pliers
Both jaws move together at the same rate , compressing together , not hinged like scissors as in " normal Pliers "
Ahh, yes, these are a very good option for these connectors, but I do not have one. I was in a tight spot once and had to use my long-nosed pliers with the nuts, rather than waiting for pliers to arrive.
Bravo ottimo 👍
Good tip. Have you ever come across DTC C4D8 Button Lighting Fault: Open Circuit? It is on the BSI module and I wonder if a BSI reset would fix the problem. I think you have to pull backwards both levers on each side of the steering wheel for a few seconds until horn sounds. I have no idea what is causing this fault.
I never found the BSI reset to do anything. I still do it from time to time, but I never thought it does something. I sincerely doubt it will fix it. Not too sure about the fault, but probably some short or open circuit somewhere, say a wire that is dangling. I would check if all lights are working as intended and take it from there.
@@moremolecules Sometimes one of the two number plate lights goes off. I wonder if the BSI can check the condition of every single lamp. After using the Lexia interface , when I open and close any car door with the car key out of the ignition you can hear a rattling noise coming from behind the console (car unit) until a relay switch (probably in the BSI) disconnects something. Any idea?
@@csraln6748 AFAIK, the BSI does not have relays, might be wrong on that one. BSI also cannot check every single lamp, but checks quite a few of the lamps. Depending on the circuit of course. I would still check all lamps for continiuty with multimeter, etc.
Wow. That's brilliant. Thank you. I was told I needed to buy a specific tool and now u saved me money!!
Show us a quick tip on starting the ba tard after replacing the fuel filter
Just spray a bit of starting fluid or gas into the intake be it carb or throttlebody. Done
nice solution 👍 . I have the same car with same engine , and have a question for u . When i slow down and stop for lights or something else the rev idle goes down of the idle line and becomes normal after a moment . it doesnt do that always but it gives feel like it cant hold it in idle and makes a bit vibration . Have you ever faced with that problem and do you have any idea ?
I have not faced it myself, but I would start with the basics for this. Definitely check if the battery is actually good and the alternator charges the battery. Multimeter on the clamps when the car is running and for a good alternator it should show ~14.3V. Could be that the MAF sensor is a bit dodgy, so you could try disconnecting it and drive without it to see if it makes a difference.
Je souhaite remplacer le capteur cartographique sur le moteur 1.6 hdi et installer un filtre à air performant, comment faire ?
Check the 1.6TDCi fords. Their MAF and filter is positioned slightly differently than the HDi. Same engine, just that they put the filter at the front. You can also get the parts from Ford and assemble it. You may need a cable extension for the MAF.
@@moremolecules Thank you. 🙋♂️
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Zip ties don't work
Zip ties do not work for what?
Pliers cost 10$
Well, yes, but can be used for other things. I had such connector and there was no other way I could remore it: ruclips.net/video/NMHHmCH2BzU/видео.html
Or maybe you meant pliers for these particular connectors?
thanks for the tip. great idea .
Brilliant
Can you replace the connector if it's damaged after you get it off the fuel line??
It should be possible yes.
Hi . I want to know your opinion regarding. egr valve Someone is blocking the path. And delete the system from memory. Because of his many problems. What do you think of this behavior please?
Not too sure what the problem/question is. Is something blocking the EGR or are you asking about if you should block it?
Nice tip. Thanks
My man you are a genius and saved my bacon today - bravo 👏👏
You just prove to be more helpful than Google
Hahah, thank you for that comment, made my day. All the best
Nice. Seems worth the time to take a cheap $3 pair of pliers, heat the ends and bend them in a bit, if you do these very much at all.
Yes, that's a good advice, although I do it not that often, hence the DIY way to do it. Otherwise I would have bought the actual pliers for the job. Seemed a bit of waste of money.
That is what I did with an old pair of pliers. I also have a pair of spark plug pliers that I have used.
