This OST explains everything about Rikiishi. His desire to fight Joe was so strong that he decided to drop down three weight classes to fight his rival. That too when Joe could basically increase his weight to fit into Rikiishi's category (which would have been much better choice imo). In his weight class, Rikiishi could easily have a successful career, instead he chose to fight Joe. Then he undergoes that harsh weight loss training and dies fighting his rival. Love Joe but Rikiishi is a legend!!
Yoooooo! I was sad this one was unreleased, I love how it contrasts with Rikiishi's regular theme,,the energy is literally sucked out of it, it shows perfectly his struggle to lose weight.
This one is released. It comes with the s1 ost disc/vinyl. The ones that I have put (Unreleased) on are the only ones that are unreleased that I have on my channel. But this OST is just incredibly sad...
Not only did he also do that sauna training but asking to get blood removed at the end? It was crazy. I think It's pretty safe to say it was after this match that Joe started being punch drunk little by little
@@AspectCave Well Ashita No Joe is published as a shounen but Ashita No Joe itself feels like a seinen series. Death is a very heavy subject for a kid to grapple with . Even if they understand it, it's still dark for them to witness it in any form. That's why I'm surprised to find out Ashita No Joe is a shounen. Ashita No Joe is very dark and sad . It's a beautiful tragedy.
@@AspectCave Shounen Manga is usually targeted towards adolescents. Seinen is for young adults. Ashita No Joe feels more like an adult series meant for adults if that makes sense .
"The man who bet on death". now thats a proper name

Joe even says he would have upped his weight class to meet Rikiishi halfway but it was a matter of pride for Rikiishi.

I like how the moment yoko tries to help rikiishi, man's is just like "now I don't want to"
And I thought Takamura's weight loss was heavy, this was sick.
Oh man, Rikiishi.... 😢
I love Ashita no Joe. The feelings hit hard......
Brave man.
All just for Joe....
@@Joe__Yabuki Especially since Joe could've have moved to Featherweight to keep Rikiishi from killing himself.
Rikiishi can stay alive by one tomato only.
And later, Joe would use drastic measures to try to lose weight, possibly worse than Rikiishi's.

Man this anime was epic but really not suitable for children
who said that it was for children?, as long they can understand the violence in this sport then i think it's fine
