This is the real sh*t. There are so many pretenders out there, and folks trying to best to keep soul music alive. But this is IT right here. I once had the pleasure of seeing Don Bryant and his wife Ann Peebles in concert - it was one of the best soul concerts I've ever seen, not only for the songs and the singing and the band but also for the showmanship.
They never married. He loved her something fierce but he had begun to write songs more than perform and he stayed in Memphis at the studio to focus and she toured. He thought she was everything and he wanted her to expand as far as she could.
Don Bryant is awesome, a soul legend!!
