I like seeing the old school methods of removing tricky old nuts and bolts. Hopefully I don't ever have to use them, but definitely appreciate the tricks.
The truck must have seen lots of salt on the roads. Glad I live in Texas. I stayed a year in Cedar Rapids Iowa and had a hard time replacing the front bearing assemblies on my 2500 Ram 5.9. When I finally got them off I used a grinder and a cup wire brush to polish the rust out. I put axle grease on all matching surfaces before replacing. Next time was a piece of cake. Loved the video because I just bought a 2008 Ranger 2wd and the shocks are overdue.

I'm about to replace the shocks on my 2002 Ranger 4x4.. GREAT information. I also have a lot of rust, so good tips on removing the bolts.
Thanks for watching. Glad this video has helped you out.

Yeah we live in the rust belt up here. The road salt is horrible.
Very informative. I'm about to do this on my dad's ranger. Thanks 👍
Good luck, glad to help!
Great video. Thank you. Happy New Year to you and yours!
Happy New Year buddy. Steve and I were repairing my dad's Ranger over the weekend to keep it going for him.
Good video! Can you suggest a brand/model of shock that would soften the ride. I have a ranger sport and the ride is very hard/stiff. Tx
Sorry, Just saw this question. I have had really good luck with Monroe shocks.
Will this replacement stop truck from losing control on bumps?
You don't support the front axel when you take off the front shocks?
We didn't have to support the front axle on the front shocks.
