Nice!! On the front under the motor, you could mount a camper scissor jack to lift the front up and move your tires plus double as a tongue jack.

Another great & interesting video. I learn something every time regardless of the mechanical subject. Keep doing what you do. 👍

      Thanks! I thought so too.
Sure it needs some paint, but hell, it'll dig a hole just as slowly as a new machine.

I'm thinking that one is a first generation Harbor Freight model from the 90's.

Not sure but i think you can grease the backhoe with a needle grease fitting in the center of the pin.and the swing pin is a stadard fitting inside the holes .but very hard to remove grease gun .trun the boom to one side and you will see them .

To be fair, the starter and generator on the Case could be easily rebuilt by you local shop. Standard Ford style; all the internals are common and the mounting ends could be reused.

      No doubt there.
But you're still making it work,
Just like the trencher when it breaks.
On a side note, when that engine dies, I hope to adapt a 4 cylinder Ranger or Iron Duke engine into it.

It may be older but it doesn't look like a lot of wear on those pins I don't think it's had a lot of use

Comparing it to a piece of misery doesn't really do it justice.

I think I saw a video a while back where folks were upgrading their hydro pump for a couple hundred bucks and it sped up the hydraulics quite a bit, something to think about if it moves to slow for ya. I don't recall the gph of harbor freights current model or the upgrade pump. Yup 9 hunny was a steal brother, still a steal even after the new motor cost. Good on you man, take care.

It's comes with a 3, and people put in a 4.1ish, problem I have with that is it speeds up the rotate too much.
As I've learned from my last digger project; rapid movements quickly wear out the pivot points.

You need to macgyver a quick deployment 3rd wheel to the front for easier moving with the bucket

You need to move the boom far left/right to switch the axles to the front. I use my cub cadet rider to move the machine around the property. Nice buy

Ohhhh so you lift the side of the machine up, not just the front, I get it now. Thanks!

Check the tires for a date code. I doubt they have been replaced.

Not a bad idea, but I don't think those are the original axle hubs or rims. Looks like it uses a chevy 5 lug pattern; probably put on there to tow it down the highway better.

Waited 20 minutes hoping to see you dig a hole! No real reason, just cuz. Disappointing. I feel betrayed. Good video, thanks for sharing.

Its funny; after I parked it I started craving to go dig a hole.
      I get your feelings.

Sold it to make another/better one, then this popped up for sale.
Within moments of listing it I had nearly a hundred messages from potential buyers, and it was gone in hours.
Shocking how desirable it was. Especially with my listing title of "digging machine; scrap, hydraulics, or parts"

The case doesn't use Cessna lights. Cessnas use tractor lights.

If you start it up and and have the wheels in the tow position all you need to do is extend the arm out and it will balance out and you can lift the hitch end up Easley with your hand to couple it to the vehical.
