What’s so great about this interview is that they are finally doing an interview with someone who can finally understand what their talking about speaking their musical language and letting them talk about their instrumental background
This is a young band that keeps Rock’n’Roll alive. They’ve gotten a lot of flak from some but this means they must be doing something right! Thank you Joe!
Hi Vaya.... I too feel they have received some unfair reviews mostly from non- musicians who really don’t know what they’re talking about. I believe these guys are the real deal and wanted to give them the chance to answer some legitimate musical questions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts... best.....Joe
I don’t think they are keeping rock alive, there are several world class rock bands still out there like Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Chilli Peppers, and GVF has opened for a couple of them
They may be young but definitely old souls. They are very in tuned with who they are. & It manifests out into their music. I love 1960/70s music & era & it's amazing that they have created a bridge to the classic rock energy for everyone to enjoy esp the younger folks who weren't around during that time to experience that type of energy the music scene had back then. 🤘🏽🙏🏽✌🏽❤️✨
I really love this interview. These guys are so inspiring and it’s clear they’ve worked so hard to get to where they are and they’re so deserving of every success. Jake really shines in this interview - so much respect for the guy. Awesome interview Joe!
Great interview, I loved when Josh said “I fear domestication”, what a great attitude all the guys have! They’re all in the “catbirds seat”, having the time of their lives! Thanks Joe!💫
Thanks Joe. You ask great questions. Not the typical questions. And I did not know that Josh started out playing drums! Thanks again. Looking forward to the third installment.
I really love how this interview just flows naturally. Nothing is forced, no interruptions or talking over one another. And Joe seems to be more & more enamoured with them as the conversation flows.
I like how everyone got to speak in this interview. You created a very comfortable atmosphere and it shows! I really wanted to hear stardust chords live and they added it to the setlist in Bridgeport just in time it was amazing. Also good to see Josh and Danny’s friendship n hear them talk about music!
love all of them so much. despite their rising fame, they always remain so genuine and down-to-earth. it's rare to see people so extraordinarily talented yet so relatable all at once. also: this is the most i've ever seen jake speak in an interview! he seems really in his element. i don't want to speak for the guys but to me it seems very clear that they truly appreciate your interviewing approach - this just seems like a casual conversation, and that is so wonderfully refreshing. keep it up!!
Have been a fan of your interviews and was very pleased to see the ones so far with GVF. They are really a great younger band and are the real deal live. Thanks so much for showing them the respect they deserve as legit musicians and people. Keep they great interviews coming too! Thanks so much for all your hard work!
Your last part of your interview I hadn't heard these guys play. Since then I checked them out and they sound solid. They seem like polite young men who are abundantly talented. From what I have heard they should go far. I love the way your interviews are just relaxing conversation but you know exactly what to ask. 👍
these guys have grown so much in the last 5 years. on top of there game at the moment. Danny the drummer is only 21 and can play with the best of them. they are really smart and bright. just hope the party's and the wild women don't get in way. lol. I'm 61 and have seen many talented musicians go down the drain and really want these guys to succeed
What great intelligent questions! So much better than almost all the other interviews. You gave some great advice to these young dudes too. Well done; I've subscribed.
Wow this is so beautiful! I love how they all have equal speaking time; it’s like they not only got better at making music, but also at giving interviews! And also, you’re a great interviewer Joe! I’m so happy with this interview series! Great people! Great musicians! Great artists! Great souls! Peace, Love and Unity ❤️
I’ve been recently introduced to the music of Greta Van Fleet and I’m a huge fan. I’ve never heard a more talented band in my life. Jake is awesome on guitar and I’m blown away by the range of Josh’s vocals.
waitin' waitin' is it friday yet?thank you for your hard work to stay in the present and the future Rock n Roll makes the world go 'round and musicians are the best observers when they're inspired to be that future!eternal gratitude to you and Greta Van Fleet........
I was lucky enough to be 2nd row at that show in Melbourne when they switched up their instruments, it was absolutely phenomenal, everyone was so excited to be there! Jake was stellar on the harmonica, at first everyone thought he was going to sing when he stepped up to the mic but then he pulled out the harmonica. He played that while also playing guitar and they busted out an epic blues style instumental jam, I really hope they do more of that instrument switching in the future! The cherry on top was that they also played Anthem both nights there for the first time at a full concert, you can check out my shaky recording here on RUclips (shaky because of all the singing and dancing, it's hard not to) Thanks Joe for the fantastic interview, I'm off to watch the 3rd one now!!
Joe - this is a really very relaxed and enjoyable interview with the band...! As one of your contemporaries, your thorough knowledge of.music, and rock music in particular (throughout it's kaleidoscope of sub-genre!) is very informative, and leaves my mind space to soar, musically and poetically..... I particularly enjoyed hearing each of the guys talk about the individual relationship they have with their primary instrument. And indeed, the rapid progression of their instrumental virtuosity is amazing, and a testament to their musical heritage and work ethic. As a closet drummer, Danny in particular has really raised his playing to a much higher level! More variation of the groove - loving the variable eighth note syncopation...... This is a really good band formed in the crucible of your and my generation, now bringing real rock music back to the fore. Thanks again - keep on rock'n brother!! Tom Mueller Tampa. ✌☮
Really great interview. I really like this band, as they remind me of what I like about seventies classic rock and the sound they inspire. I love the relaxed feel to the conversation. Just like a bunch of guys having a casual chat. Very well done.
If any interview were conversationally perfect this has to be it .Great job . Kudos to the host , and to the band. Not only is this band Just what rock music needs right now..but they really appear to be great guys.
Hey Tim, thank you for subscribing & supporting the channel. My dad, Joe, would have really appreciated your kind words & so do I. Hope you can visit the museum sometime. Best, Britt
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum I will make it a priority the next time Im in town thanks for your response. I think your dad and I would have enjoyed telling stories about our musical lives. I regret never having the chance to meet him. T😎
This is awesome and they are amazing spiritual and graceful! I was turned on to this band by my son it was amazing new but in my soul from long ; you guy’s are beautiful way to go and I believe in you and find you amazingly intricate and intriguing here’s to all you are dreaming of! Way to go!
Thank you for letting the guys talk. Some interviewers constantly interrupt. And great timing - I can't wait for their new LP out on April 16th! I'm "old school" - I gotta have the CD or vinyl.
I have got to take my time with the song writing itself more and not rush it. Patience has always been my weakness but now I’m inspired even if it takes 6 years! Love This Band!!
Danny: "We treated that song like Dad treated Jake on the guitar..." Sweet. No question at all that Danny is their brother. It came out so naturally, I have to think he may very well call Papa Kiska dad. 🤗✌💖🤝
I hope these guys keep getting better. Nice interview Joe. You ask the right questions that keep it interesting. Hey, what’s up with that background wall ? That is awesome! Guitars everywhere. 😁
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Joe, I was born six blocks from the old FAME Studio’s. All of your interviews are fantastic. Somewhere in those archives there is or should be an interview of the one of most importance…you. No kidding, I went and saw the photos online and now I want to know how all that started. Mostly how you got started in music.
I’m so impressed with GVF. Love their music! Definitely a gift from God to have such fresh rock roll! All four are so unique and these guys are very intelligent! My hobby is going to concerts, can’t wait to see them live! I’m hooked!
My favorite opening guitar riff on a GVF song is from "mountain of the sun" with lover leaver being a close second. Was wondering if you have a favorite Joe? Nice interview!
Hi Ray... thanks for watching... I don’t know all GVF songs yet but one that just jumped out at me and is very simple ( often simple ones are the hardest to create) is Broken Bells. I like Age Of Machine too. Thanks for asking and supporting our channel too... Joe
Greta van fleet is a great band and talented family , I hate that they are hounded so much about the led zeppilen act , this guys do resemble them but I'm sure it's not on purpose, thanks for the interview joe !!
At time 7.00 RE confidence: I think they exude confidence because they all have been doing this for a LONG time - plus, they are technically experienced each in their individual skills. It’s not like they have become popular and skilful overnight - these young guys have put many many years into perfecting their skills - and no doubt copping some criticism along the way. I take my hat off to their commitment.
