Higurashi anime is based on Visual Novel Games, I don't know about this one, but given the appearance of Natsumi is this game I would have to assume that it is based off the visual novels rather than anime.
@Tsugandate there are 3 gauges. One fills when u take damage; the friendship one fills when u DO damage; I dont know the third; but when u fill a gauge, u go all "OVER 9000!" on the enemy.
@emojesus2021 Apparently you can download it with a menu-only english patch. There's a PSP version coming but with completely different controls and graphics. It's still in development, so yeah.
Rena kicks butt!! You fight really well. I'd be nice if this was on any other console cuz I'd be really cool and the graphics would be more realistic and everything. Hope this comes to the US.
@ChaosBladewing yeah its in the psp version, just press the same button you pressed to go super/rape mode to do it, but you gotta be in that mode in order to do it
@emojesus2021 there's the PSP version that is region free that I'd strongly recommend. The graphics can't really compare to this (since it IS psp,) but it's not terrible. There are many weapons to choose, more characters, and co-op. If you do get it, make sure you buy the Mega Edition (which was a remake of the PSP version.) It's easy to learn if you don't know Japanese.

If you dont have a PSP, or are against Piracy, its pretty hard to find as it is a sort of rare Japanese exclusive game. You would probably have to find a really good importer.

And there's a blonde girl with pigtails some1 said was Natsume. I'm so confused but I'll read the manga to figure the whole Natsume thing out.

There's been a translation patch that covers the interface for a while. (I'm programmer on the release.)
