Another group mentioned that their teachers were very impressed and eager to use the app themselves to maintain attendance. Recently, I assisted a viewer in integrating a fingerprint scanner into the app she was developing for her final year project.

The system requires a trained model that accepts a face and returns an ID (You always can start with a simple model like CNN for the trained model part.). This model can be integrated into a pipeline where a user uploads a raw image, potentially a group photo of the classroom. A layer in the pipeline will then crop the faces using libraries like OpenCV. Each cropped face is sent to the trained model, which returns the corresponding IDs. These returned IDs are used to mark students as either present or absent. If you have two months in hand, you can attempt it safely.
