My feelings are mixed... some of these are good changes, but some... I fear that the good ol' rough and ready Ural we fell in love with back in the early 2000's is becoming a bit *too* "domesticated". The military styling is becoming nerfed, at least in my opinion. I have a 2005 Gear-Up and I love its hard, slightly clunky style.
is there a reverse gear?
does the foot shift for reverse get in the way of the foot brake?
No it does not, there is enough room for your boot to fit to engage reverse and when not in reverse the lever is lower than the foot brake so it does not interfere and you would not inadvertently enter reverse.
That's what I was worried about, I would have to look at the hand shifter just for my piece of mind that I didn't try to go reverse if I was emergency braking or something...
Is there a trip meter on the odometer?
Yes.

Can you still attach a hand shifter for shifting gears?

Can you convert a 2016 Gear up Speedo with a 2017?
At this time there it is not possible to convert pre-2017 bikes with the new electronic speedometers.
