Sold my condo in palm desert bought a home here for 1/3 the price I would have paid for it in California. Seriously, get out and sell before it's too late! I have a whole list of reasons why electric equipment won’t work including cars, tractors, mowers, construction equipment, and more. One of the major reasons is they want to push the world to go greener right? Those engines are not going to do it because gas engines and diesel put out less carbon a year than building one battery takes, also the earth is always replenishing fossil fuels because things are always dying. We have enough to last us another hundred years. And then by that time will have enough to last us the next hundred years. Also the earth is always replenishing oxygen. We shouldn’t be worrying about something this small. Also global warming or climate change whatever you wanna call it Isn’t changed by what we run or use, it’s affected by the sun and it doesn’t just affect the years it affects the whole solar system.

I've had an electric mower, edger, and weed eater for more than five years. Ran over one extension cord and learned my lesson on how to mow. Plug it in and it works. Don't have to worry about gas, oil, or up-keep. Really simplified everything.

Electric cannot keep up with gas. Too heavy, not as durable. Maybe your average lawn. But not a country lawn. Out here we have black berry bushes that will kill a regular lawn mower. Sometimes you need rubber boots. Electric is gonna short out.
What a waste, i own a small engine sales & service center on the east coast, as scarce as parts & new equipment is California should export all gas equipment to other places instead of throwing away perfectly good equipment! and a shop owner should know this! part them out and sell the parts! no wonder there's a shortage! how WASTEFUL and dumb! in my honest opinion going battery is dumb for outdoor power, gas engines are the way to go, and with never engines built within the last 10 or so years are SO efficient and make hardly any emissions! Gas equipment lasts for 20+ years if maintained properly, battery equipment likes to short out, can't get wet and don't last. Battery don't make NEAR enough power as a gas engine does!
Heres another gift for this world. Solar powered lawn mowers make sense. Autonomous/robotic lawn mowers can just stay outside soaking up the sun charging the batteries and start and stop mowing as the batteries are charged and used. I don't want to give everything away. I just don't have any money/resources.
Happy to call FL home! I have an average sized lawn service, taking care of 65+ residential properties weekly and switching to 100% electric is simply not realistic. It does not make business sense.

I don't think the people who write these rules consider the consequences. For example, with this ban, we'll need to get rid of the concepts of green cities and urban forestry, because with only a 20 inch chainsaw bar, you can't remove large trees that are dead or failing near buildings, and buildings are going to get smashed if large trees are allowed in our cities. I love battery powered tools. They're quiet and mechanically simple; I use them when I can. However, they have a poor power to weight ratio, and their fuel, in the form of extra batteries, is extremely heavy. These issues make them utterly unsuitable for certain tools to exist at all and for others to be used in certain contexts (I.E. wildland firefighting) We've built our society with the assumption that these tools would be available, and we're going to have problems if they're not. Of course, people may just drive to another state to buy these tools, because burning a couple tanks of gas, in addition to using these tools, to save the environment makes sense.

My townhouse gets blasted by the leaf blower exhaust (carbon monoxide) twice a week from the mow and blow brigade if I don't get every window closed. I like battery and corded blowers, but gas is best for everything else.

I've had an electric mower, edger, and weed eater for more than five years. Ran over one extension cord and learned my lesson on how to mow. Plug it in and it works. Don't have to worry about gas, oil, or up-keep. Really simplified everything.

Electric cannot keep up with gas. Too heavy, not as durable. Maybe your average lawn. But not a country lawn. Out here we have black berry bushes that will kill a regular lawn mower. Sometimes you need rubber boots. Electric is gonna short out.

What a waste, i own a small engine sales & service center on the east coast, as scarce as parts & new equipment is California should export all gas equipment to other places instead of throwing away perfectly good equipment! and a shop owner should know this! part them out and sell the parts! no wonder there's a shortage! how WASTEFUL and dumb! in my honest opinion going battery is dumb for outdoor power, gas engines are the way to go, and with never engines built within the last 10 or so years are SO efficient and make hardly any emissions! Gas equipment lasts for 20+ years if maintained properly, battery equipment likes to short out, can't get wet and don't last. Battery don't make NEAR enough power as a gas engine does!
Heres another gift for this world. Solar powered lawn mowers make sense. Autonomous/robotic lawn mowers can just stay outside soaking up the sun charging the batteries and start and stop mowing as the batteries are charged and used. I don't want to give everything away. I just don't have any money/resources.

Happy to call FL home! I have an average sized lawn service, taking care of 65+ residential properties weekly and switching to 100% electric is simply not realistic. It does not make business sense.
So they are for the average people but yet will hurt average guys who own landscaping business. Makes no damn sense. It will take twice the time to get any work done having to recharge batteries.
Landscaping businesses will soon have problems once they ban gas powered equipment. A lot of small companies will go out of business real soon or relocate to a different state during the mass exodus

People who truly depend on generators will purchase out of state or from the black market which will greatly expand. Others will just die when their equipment fails during blackouts... Me kind of thinks those responsible should be forced to experience a similar fate!
I don't think the people who write these rules consider the consequences. For example, with this ban, we'll need to get rid of the concepts of green cities and urban forestry, because with only a 20 inch chainsaw bar, you can't remove large trees that are dead or failing near buildings, and buildings are going to get smashed if large trees are allowed in our cities.
I love battery powered tools. They're quiet and mechanically simple; I use them when I can. However, they have a poor power to weight ratio, and their fuel, in the form of extra batteries, is extremely heavy. These issues make them utterly unsuitable for certain tools to exist at all and for others to be used in certain contexts (I.E. wildland firefighting) We've built our society with the assumption that these tools would be available, and we're going to have problems if they're not.
Of course, people may just drive to another state to buy these tools, because burning a couple tanks of gas, in addition to using these tools, to save the environment makes sense.

Do these legislators realize the cost or going to subsidize installing in home car charging stations? Seems to fuck over a lot of people. Installing a 60 or 70 amp charging station is anywhere from $600 to thousands of dollars.

Nobody is required to meet any such thing. The board Newsom etc.have no lagitimate authority PERIOD. Gas generators are a must to run life saving equipment for many. Alternatives are NOT adequate. We have the right to purchase and sellers the right to sell REGARDLESS.

Well nobody knows how to read so If u read the law it bands engines under 19kw which is like 25hp so commercial landscaping companies will still be able to buy bigger lawnmowers just can’t buy the smaller stuff like weed eater, blowers. To top it off it’s just the sale of new equipment so you can run what you have now and just keep fixing what you have lucky lawn equipment is so easy to fix a child can do it! The only way people need to panic is when they ban everyone from using gas powered stuff. Here’s the best part it says electric ignition engines under 19kw (25hp) well Diesel engines do not have electric ignition so they might start making diesel equipment.

My townhouse gets blasted by the leaf blower exhaust (carbon monoxide) twice a week from the mow and blow brigade if I don't get every window closed. I like battery and corded blowers, but gas is best for everything else.
