Thanks for the Texas action. Re the Eagle, a month ago, a northbound Eagle was involved in a truck/train accident. The driver of the truck was killed. This happened within the Temple, Tx city limits. The local tv station didn't show the engine, but the trailer of the truck was up against one of the coaches.

David, glad you enjoyed the video. That sounds like a bad accident, I can recall a number of bad Amtrak/truck accidents!

In my younger days, I worked as a brakeman for the SP. I was on the head end when we hit a tractor trailer rig in Houston. I was also on the head end when the 'local' hit a winch truck coming out of Houston. Unfortunately, I was on the head end when we hit two deer on the local. We stopped to switch at Navasota, Tx, and I had to uncouple the engines. The deer had drug under the engines and smacked into the first car. Talk about guts and stink. lol

David Barnett David, I once was on a northbound Eagle, that struck a semi truck loaded with melons just north of Jonesboro Ark. The P42 cut the trailer in half, right in the middle, and luckily no one was hurt. It happened in the middle of the night, and I felt the train come to an emergency stop, turned on my scanner and heard the engineer call the dispatcher and call it in, left my sleeper compartment and headed to the empty high level lounge car and saw all the emergency equipment arrive. The train smelled like melons! Got to Chicago 5 hours late.

I was visiting Texas this last July. I was in Ft Worth and I found Tower 55, The Parking lot was fenced off and looked like some construction stuff in or near the parking lot. I went to the west side possibly near where Your video was shot, Under the Highway bridges. I didn't stay because I wasn't sure if I was trespassing or not.
Where is a good place to video from and does the Railroad allow You access? I will be returning to Texas again and would like to try again.
